Sweetandspecial, you just made me laugh out loud for real! Thank you!

I honestly do not want to go the nipple route. I like the smooth look, and will consider tats later down the road. Wonder if tats and radiated skin mix?

Andrea623: You're welcome!  I was fortunate in not needing radiation so I can't help you on that one, but I'm sure others will chime in.

Hi everyone.  I had my exchange surgery yesterday, with 450 cc Allergan silicone implants.  I was told I am a C now, which is also quite a surprise since I only wanted to be a B.  I was an A before.  But this is a plesant surprise...I am going to have fun with this.  I am looking forward to buying new bras, a swim suit, and some low cut clothing which I have never been able to wear before in my life!

I am also wearing the compression bra, for the next week.  As far as how I feel, I feel great!  The pain and recoverying is nothing like the DMX three months ago.  I decided to do the exchange asap, due to short term disability which will pay me for this surgery, since it it a part of the last surgery, and had to be within three months of my return day to work.

I am going to do the nipples in three months, made out of me.  And then the tats.  Can someone tell me who that good tatoo guy is?  I do not want my tats messed up and am willing to travel.

Surgeon is happy with the rads side as well, and said that we will always like righty better.  He also said I am now the blond with the big boobs.  Gotta love this guy!

Are all you girls that are foregoing reconstructed nipples double MX? Anyone decide to not get a nipple with a Uni MX? I'm assuming you'd have to always wear a bra...

I am getting the nipples post BMX, cuz I want to be as near to normal as possible.  But I will second that it has been great to go braless all the time!

    Lala-

I had umx and I'm considering not getting nipples. My ps said it depends on how my breasts settle if I'll even be a good candidate for nipple recon, because he doesn't want them to be uneven. If I do have recon and it takes then one side would be "always on" and the other would be sometimes on. I think I'm leaning more toward foregoing reconstruction and getting a pretty tattoo of a flower or something to feel whole again. Hmmm I don't know, decisions decisions.

    Mamatwinz,

I didn't like the fat grafting ...had from my ABD and that hurt more than the exchange surgery...Ever since my MX my skin is so very sensitive ...any kind of tape or anything with an adhesive my skin turns dark red ....Then he mentioned more fat grafting so have to talk with him./p>

Hi all, haven't had internet access for days, so just trying to catch up/

Mel, so happy for you the drains are out! Freedom! (happy dance for you). Love the new avatar, by the way! Your smile keeps getting bigger! Hopefully, no more pain for you.

Mamatwinz, so awesome for you, birthday boobs! Funny, now you'll never forget the date. A present to yourself.

Ok, have to admit, feeling dumb: what is bcbs? Have been on these forums so long, what does it mean?

About revisions, mine is primarily because of the big "mud flap" under my armpit on new-mx side. There's always some degree of pain from just annoyance to down-right painful; hoping it will also decrease the fluid build-up due to compromised lymph system. MLD helps at times (I can't completely reach all of the area, so that's why I say at times) so I'm hoping this cures the problem completely. Also asked to move that foob in toward the center just a bit because I have knocked it a couple times when reaching for things. While I'm under anyway, she'll remove the small flap under my left side. My PS is a perfectionist and she wants me to be happy so she's suggesting a few "little" things too like fixing a slight dog-ear, not nothing major. If it weren't that pain is involved I wouldn't even consider general anesthesia again. We got my surgery scheduled: it's July 5th! Can't believe they arranged it so quickly!

PS smiled and said we'll talk nips after the revision surgery..... (not sure about wanting that)

Thanks Mamatwinz! ROTFL! I'm thinking with the "bc" it's some kind of breast cancer I'm not remembering! It doesn't apply here, that's why I don't know....

Ashell--That is my worry....that one will be "always on" and the other will be "sometimes on". I've tried one of those stick on nipples and while it helps to look at the new foob and see it "complete", I find I have a bigger issue in that the stick on nipple pokes through my bra. Thus I'm still a one headlighter! At least with no nipple on the MX side I don't have that problem cause my native nipple doesn't "come on" often and when it does, it doesn't show through my bra. Did your PS tell you that the recon nip would be "always on"? I'd like to hear what some other PS say about nip recon and whether it causes this issue. Mine just assumes I'll be getting one. (I'm guessing cause he'll make more money). When I asked about 3-D nipple tattoes he looked at me like I had 3 heads. He said he'd never heard of it and if it wasn't in his medical journals then he wasn't interested. I told him that there was this wonderful new invention called the Internet and he should try using it sometime, especially Google. He then poo-pooed the idea of learning about reconstruction issues via the internet! (I told him he could learn a thing or two from this forum!) I'd just like some uni feedback as far as "matching" nips. And what did your PS say about getting symmetry? Mine wants me to wait 6 months post exchange so the new foob will have dropped all it's going to drop and symmetry will be easier to achieve.

    Lala-

He didn't say that it would be always on, I just kind of assumed that based on what I've seen online and knowing that it won't respond to stimulation like an actual nipple. At first he talked about getting a nipple like it was a for sure thing, but he said he will only recommend it if it would sit symmetrically with my existing nipple, and that we would have to wait a few months for that also. And when I brought up that l might not want to do the reconstruction he was really cool about it and said it was my decision. I'm sorry yours isn't as open minded about alternatives, ESP 3-d nips which I would think would be well known in the ps world.

I want to try the stick on nip and see how it looks.

Another thing is I really don't scar well, idk if you've seen my pics on the pic forum but I'm pretty sure my scar is going to look about the same as it did before exchange (I still have the steri strip but I got a peak at my post op and it looked pretty red). I'm sure it will lighten a little over time but I'm pretty sure it'll never completely go away. I have a few other scars and none of them have faded very much. So my point is, even if I do get a nip I feel like I won't really look symmetrical because of the scar. That's also why I like the idea of a pretty tattoo covering the whole scar instead. But I'm so indecisive so I'm really not sure haha.

    Hi Orange!

    Glad you found this thread.

I know you are 5'8" and athletic. Do you know what your rib cage measurement is? (Around your ribs right under your breasts.) What is your weight?

If you care to share those someone with similar stats may be able to reassure you. The Style 20 implants are pretty popular.

I think if you can back away from the mirror and let things heal and settle you will be pleasantly surprised! If you read through this thread you'll see that most women experience something that has become known as "drop and fluff." Lol. It happens at different times for different people...but I'm guessing between 6 weeks and 3 months?? The implants seem to settle down into the pockets and relax...right now you are probably pretty tight with some swelling from surgery. I actually still have a tiny bit of swelling and it has been 3 months since my surgery. As your swelling goes down and as your pec muscle relaxes you will see some changes!! The drop/fluff seems to improve the shape and size issues that frustrate lots of girls here.

Let us know those measurements if you want to and then people with similar sizes can let you know their new bra size, etc. There are some great ladies here with lots of knowledge and experience and they are wonderful about sharing and helping. They've sure helped me along my journey through all of these unknowns. I just wanted to answer you right away because on the weekends these boards really slow down and people posting on Fridays often feel lonely waiting for Monday to roll around. :-)

Now, my implants are not the same style as yours, but I am 5'6", 149 lbs. My ribcage is 31" and my implants are 800's. I was maybe a small C before...or a B. My new bras are 34G!!! So please, please take a deep breathe and give yourself some time to heal!!!!

    I do have the 800 45's.

The problem is the width. Whichever implant the doctor places in you it must match the width of the pocket so it doesn't move around. And so it looks correct on your frame.

Your Style 20's at 750cc have a width of 15cm. And a projection of 6 cm.

There is nothing that wide in the 45's.

My 45's at 800cc have a width of 14.2 cm. they do have a tiny bit more projection than your 750's...projection is 6.7cm. But go look at a ruler and actually realize how tiny the difference of 7 tenths of a centimeter is. NOT enough to have that be the only reason for more general anesthesia???

I'm still going to cheer for you to "Give It Time, Give It Time!" You can always do something different if you remain unhappy, but for right now relax and heal!!!!! :-)

    Rib cage is 38

You know what it is they are like in my armpit to like they need to b pushed out

    Alot on the side

If they would push out from the side they would look closer tgther

My real boobs never had this

I had the look with the TEs but just ignored it because she was just filling

She needs to push them out or redo them

You could call the office on Monday. I know some ladies were special bras or straps post surgery to get them to settle where they belong.

Mine feel like they are in my pits a bit too. I don't know if that happens to everybody after exchange just because implants are wider than breast tissue? You should send a message to Whippetmom. She is the expert here on helping know which size/style implant best matches your size and frame. You can also post all of your information on the Breast Implant Size thread (where I first saw you). She follows that thread closely.

They r perfect she said I went through my friend

I get concerned that my foobs will form to the bra?

    Orange,

Different plastic surgeons have different recommendations as to what kind of bras you should wear after exchange so you should ask your own doctor just to be safe.

Some say absolutely no underwires, some say compression for a while, some say sports bras. Mine said whatever I wanted after the first couple of weeks.

I don't know if you can do anything to speed up the process. It happens when it happens. Just follow doctor's orders. Just be very sure that whatever you DO wear fits properly. Read the header on the Bra thread here for great tips and information.

    Happy settling in!

Drop and fluff means settle into the pockets and fill out. Your body needs to get used to the implants, they are not the same as the TEs.

Not a medical term...lol...so not something your ps would mention.
