How could I feel so miserable in the midst of such splendor? The question flashed through me all at once, not waiting for words to express it. The answer came more slowly: No one makes you angry. Anger, like love, is something you choose. Stunned, I sat down in the middle of the field I'd been walking through. I knew I needed to look within myself, let go of my anger and have a quiet talk with God. -

Angry people are in-secure people. Anger becomes a face-saving device to cover up deficiencies of another short. Don't be fooled by the dominating character of anger. Know that during moments of anger there dwells a poor self image. Shantedasa

Here's today's photos. They have wing feathers erupting and it is fun to watch them preen themselves as well as flap their tiny wings. Enjoy.

Total enjoyment. I'm wondering if they realize their newness and look on their days with anticipation for what they will attempt and work on. Obviously I transpose what youngsters may think about their days upon awakening to a new one. I mean, when young I think we/and they are not bothered so much by not doing well. We haven't much learned that others will have high expectations some time in the future so we don't tone in on clumsiness or other issues that throw us off balance and make us start over. Over and over again. Part of the adventure for me -- trying to see thru their eyes, and guess at how it appears to them -- these things that they know they need to learn.

It is just a very enjoyful endeavor.

MCBaker, thanks so much for your reply. Glad I looked into this forum. I will be 69 in the Fall. Yes, the Kadcyla was a scary experience with the lung problems and really spooked me for the eventual 4 more Herceptin only infusions I have to have. So I started radiation first and did my first two this week. I sure hope those go ok. I am starting to worry about heart and lung issues and I have NEVER been afraid of anything medical in my life. So far so good except with stiff shoulders the radiation table is darn uncomfortable. I want to hear more good stories on this Older Women's forum (I hope) and when I see or read of the breast cancers happening to much, much younger women these days it makes me so sad for them.

Carole, hope your Dh had a wonderful birthday. The pasta restaurant sounds scrumptious and well worth the drive there. Glad the work-outs are going better too. Maintaining flexibility is always good.

Racheldog, there is probably a group for people that start radiation at the same time. I enjoyed sharing my experiences with the women that started at the same time and continue to communicate. Check in the Topics for Starting Radiation June 2021.

One of the things we must develop is a capacity for exploration, a searching for meanings and connections. The search itself is crucial. If you are not asking the hard questions of life, if you are not carefully testing what others tell you, then you are not engaged with all the potential aspects of your own unique and wonderful life. -Sallirae Henderson

Likely to rain again. The humidity is not good. Dh actually turned the a/c up to 76 or it would be down in our case since it is usually higher here. Says his room is just too stuffy if he doesn't. He might benefit from moving his fan around ( oscillating floor type that sits on his dresser pointed at his bed ) to see if it would circulate the cooler air as well as send it all out to the hallway every so often. All of us save for Dh have bedrm. doors closed so we are not much bothered. I have my fan pointed so that ( on a pedestal fan ) it circulates air by hitting the end of the wall farthest from my bed. I can't have a fan blowing directly on me -- I'd never sleep -- but the room is lg. enough to stay pleasant that way. I did trial and error to find that out.

Well, had to have a small tumor surgically removed yesterday. The good news -- there was only one which is a definitive reduction from last time. So, I will have a consultation soon to find out what Dr. Barrientos wishes to recommend. He likely ( he is careful and has dealt with these things for yrs. ) got it all but it doesn't mean nothing else should happen. I'm disappointed yet feel good that we were down to one which is good progress to me. My fear is that we have to start this over again as yet -- meaning I'll go back to needing four more scopes done rather than the three more that would have been left yesterday if I was clear. I have to admit I was a little resentful at having to do it at all, but it did turn out to be a really good thing to have done sooner rather than later.

Hoping you all have a fantastic day.

Illinois just popping in to say I sympathize. Sometimes it does seem like one thing after another. But then as you say better to find things now/sooner. But sending hugs and good wishes for the next steps. 🤗

Going to be 90 today. That spells humidity. Maybe a pop-up rain squall. Had one yesterday. They can be strange here. We didn't have a drop here in the woods, but two blocks from home the streets looked like a real pour down had come. Got part way into town and lo and behold the pavement became suddenly dry. I know this happens but we had not seen it for a while.

All seems well here. Taking it easy today. Didn't sleep well last night but I'll make it up tonight. I always do. Will be glad to get to the week-end so that I can stay home and work.

Hope you all will have a really fine day.

Celia & Sandy - hair looks great!

MCBaker- great colors in that skirt!

Betrayal- love those little birds too!

Racheldog- welcome to the group. I didn't have chemo, so I can't say.

Beavertx- our roof was done in November. It's loud, leave if you can.

Illinioslady- I'm glad your procedure went well, even though a tumor was discovered. I'm thinking it was better found sooner, than later.

We've had super high heat, lot of downpours, and today is beautiful. We're finishing up school close out, and we'll be in the pool soon.

School 7 full days, 3 half days left. I'm ready, so ready, for it to be over! Enjoy the day, stay healthy.

Love the robin's nest. I especially love watching robins work in our yard. They have been a lot more sparse around here though the past two or three yrs. I have to admit we did quit putting bird feeders out. We attracted so many ( raccoons, possums etc. ) yard visitors that were not highly desirable. I don't mind them, but the raccoons get especially destructive and the clean-up got very tiresome. We live in a heavily wooded area so there is still plenty of food -- just maybe not as easy to get. We are far happier ourselves not having constant clean-up going on.

Will be really hot today and I'm not looking forward to that. We should do okay as I'll be in a/c where I work today and Dh still has us set on 76 -- so it feels pretty nice in here.

I hope you all have a most wonderful day.

The baby robins are adorable. Our porch (house) wren laid eggs in a nest that is an ornament on a door wreath one year and in a hanging fake flower basket another year. We have 2 bird bottles and she chose one of them this year so the porch is off base right now. Since they can lay more than one clutch a year we are forced to use the patio instead but it doesn't get as much shade now since those trees are the ones took out the master bedroom.

Here are the latest photos of the quickly developing baby parakeets. They are leaving the bowl more, still can't figure how to get back in but prefer to sleep there since they "cuddle". Keeping mom super busy since they are constantly hungry. Anyone who has had small children know how that goes. You can now appreciate their head, back and wing feathers, chest feathers are still a gray "fluffave a good weekend. We have rain today and lower temps than for the past few boiling days. My garden is calling so I hope I can get a few temperate days to address some of the issues. Have a good weekend.

Yes, they do look like twins in coloration. However, there were two separate eggs (can't imagine fitting 2 yolks in those tiny eggs) and they did hatch on different days so they are siblings. I should have taken a picture of the eggs though getting mom off them was hard as well. I don't know if she could have handled 3 hatchlings if that third egg had hatched. Even dad appears frazzled at times when he helps with feedings. LOL

The birds are so sweet to watch, as the grow so quickly.

I had a rather different day on Friday. Normal school day was shortened due to a teacher having a doctor appt, so a late class was able to be done right after home room. I took advantage of this to run to Urgent Care to be tested for a UTI. I had minimal discomfort but tell tale super cloudy urine made me check it out. Sure enough, I'm now on Macrobid for 7 days.

All my friends have heard me complain about a pain in the right cheek of my butt. It started way back when I did that foolish 30 day sit up/crunch/leg lift challenge, the leg lifts were causing an issue and I continued with the other exercises but quit the leg lifts. I thought it was muscular pain, everyone I spoke with thought the same. I had been stretching, using the foam roller, and seeing my chiropractor muscle therapist. Varying thoughts on what muscle I injured, but it was over 3 months ago and any muscle injury should have healed. SO after Urgent Care for the UTI, and after lunch, I ran to our walk in orthopaedics clinic, Bone & Joint. I went there because I really didn't know where else to start. Long story short, they took x-rays that show my hamstring muscle tore off a piece of bone - not sure from the hip or the pelvis (she may have told me and I just blanked out when she was showing me the x-ray). I need to get an MRI, and after that I'll be seeing a sports medicine specialist who is their hip guy. Google indicates it might be a hamstring avulsion that took a piece of bone. I know ...stop using Dr. Google, but most of what I read indicates surgery to repair it, 3-6 month recovery, a hip brace to immobilize, and on & on (surgery site is the fold under your butt cheek). Text briefly w stepson (gastro Dr) who said he read sometimes they try to fix it with bed rest first. After staying indoors and isolating for over a year for covid, the thought of bed rest for weeks makes me ill. And all I thought was maybe I'd get a shot of cortisone in the keester! That's my vent for the day.

It was ok weather yesterday, cooler without a lot of sun. When I came back from ortho appt, both my grand niece and partner were in the pool. I don't know how she talked him into it, the water was warmer than the air (82 vs 69). Today we had some rain before I got up, but still cloudy and only 61. Forecast calls for rain Sunday and Monday too. Our 90+ degree days are gone, highs in the 70's. Enjoy your weekend!

Really hate that you got the news you did Cindy, but OTOH there are finally some answers coming. Maybe something new for repairs of the spot will have turned up, but I would think 'google' might know that. I guess it is just my wish for you. We all use some form I think of google. I use Web MD. You mentioned having a place to start -- and a lot of times ( don't know about you for sure ) Web M.D. is it for me.

Hot and humid here. Not sure how much longer we will have this. It is hard on people for sure. We are used to it here and just don't do much at all outside on the worst days.

Hope you all have a great Saturday.

Happy Sunday to all. Much to our relief, more normal MN summer weather has returned. Yesterday was so nice I spent a lot of time outdoors. The deck is much more enticing than indoors.

Yikes, Cindy, on your diagnosis. I hope there's a noninvasive "cure."

Yah, I hope this cooler weather lasts for the rest of the summer. My electric bill will suffer from ten days straight of over ninety degrees. Even my daughter in California was sympathetic.

Still not too pleasant here today, but it will change as least to less humidity. That will bring some blessings. I may be able to get some work on my car ( the sort of excessive cleaning routines I like to do ) done while we are not going outside to automatic sweats. Glad it has cleared for you Carole. Finally got my glasses -- ordered on Apr. 27th. I was so irritated but it was just one of those series of events making the experience much more negative than positive. I sincerely hope I won't have to go through that again.

I hope you all have a great Sunday. Enjoy.
