Peace of mind just can't be bought. Trust me: Even if your conscience doesn't stop you from playing dirt to get what you want, once you get it, it will keep you from enjoying it. As my mother used to say, "A good conscience is God's eye." Which is why I always prefer a loss to an underhanded gain; the one brings pain at the moment, the other for all time.

Good morning. Sun again today although something was going on last night or during the wee hours maybe. Awoke this a.m. to several of the clocks flashing and no coffee perking away. Ah well, coffee now so I can function. A bit of sun and clear looking skies. Sure looks okay now.
Usual things will go on. Like bills to pay and some appts. to deal with. My always present list of working on paring down, discarding or donating etc. You can see I'm still longing for the time when I had little. Sadly, I didn't realize how much it really was. In those days I had just enough — almost nothing extra. I recall my days of moving to a new place. Took less than half a day. That is not possible now, but I can I hope get back to having more room everywhere in my house. We are too old and tired to keep taking care of all the "stuff" that we never use anyway.
Hard to believe we are soon going to have Thanksgiving. Hadn't thought much till I noted Carole going on a visit to Jacksonville later. We don't do a lot, and even more so with dietary restrictions. A dietician (new one in training) told me that I should allow myself a 'blowout' once in a while. Not totally sure what was meant. For me much cheating would likely set me way back. You know, it's like potato chips where you can't eat just one and if you're really lucky you can stop at half a bag.
Nice to hear what you all are planning for the day.

Sunny today with predicted high of 76. Rain still not in future and this is about day 40 or so with no rain and what little is predicted won't make a dent in the deficit.
Got final bill for restoration and it was much more than expected with new insurance rules about our deductible and depreciation. So a real unplanned expense even with what little we did get from SF. But it is done and that is the positive and looks good.
Spent a little time rearranging pantry overflow in garage. I had left boil a bag rice box on the counter (an order which I received last night) to put away this morning. I offload it into a glass storage container but wanted to clean it first. DH decided to put it away in garage but ignored the recycles he generates on the kitchen counter which needed to go to bucket in garage. Does this strike a bell with anyone else? So while I was retrieving it and putting 2 other items in the garage, I rearranged several items. I bought inexpensive plastic bins at the Dollar Store (won't do again because they break quite easily) and labeled them so we could keep items organized and be able to do a quick survey for replacement when making a grocery list. As they break I will replace them with better constructed ones I found +at Ikea for a few dollars more and they work better.
There is a beautiful 15 month old female liver and white Dalmatian on the rescue site we use for our dogs. She looks like the one we had 2 dogs ago. She is a rescue from WVa and needs an evaluation of her front leg which broke at the forepaw, was splinted and when splint broke they didn't take her back for care. Hoping they can surgically correct it and not have to amputate. She was kept chained outdoors and let me tell you Dalmatians are not dogs which should be kept outdoors but in fact, there are no dogs that are suited to year round outdoor living. Dalmatians have very thin fur coats so no protection from the elements.
But then I don't believe cats are meant to be outdoor pets either. My one neighbor always let her cats, she had some very beautiful ones, out and they always ended up as road kill. All 3 of mine were rescued from the streets and none of them desire to go outdoors now. In fact all of the cats I have owned over the past 50 years were street rescues and none wanted out again once they got in the house.
Hope harley enjoyed her cruise.
Hope everyone has a great day.

Election - I went to bed, I couldn’t watch it. Plus we were getting up at 4:30 AM to make our flight for Vegas.
We’re staying in a 2 bed/2 bath Hilton desert retreat. I think sq feet is larger than my FL home. Exhausted last night I fell asleep before 11 pm. Night owl couldn’t keep her eyes open! Sleeping about 6.5 hours I was awake 3AM, again at 5:49 for the day. We’re not adjusting to the time change. TV shows throw us off - the football game was done just after 8 pm… lol that adds to feeling off.
Today’s hike was more like a walk around a park. But it’s cold, and the wind made it feel even colder. I was holding my hood on my head trying to stay warm. We got in about 1.5 miles which was fine with us. Afterwards we met up with my cousin at his home for a nice visit.
Tomorrow heading to Red Rock, trying to chill before the concert. For Monday I purchased tickets to the Golden Knights hockey game. In between the big events, hikes will fill our time. I’ll be in touch!

Wow Cindy — it is so pretty where you are. The water is gorgeous and looks so soothing and calming to look upon. The walk —eh, too cold for me but hats off — it did sound invigorating which would have felt great at the end so I'd have tried for sure.
Bet that hockey game is enjoyable. I don't watch it anymore, but I learned to really love hockey when I lived in Detroit (Red Wing Stadium) for several years during the Gordie Howe era.
Enjoy.
Sunny and cool today. Also D-Day for Red. Going to make his appts. for rabies shot and neuter today. Have to call and try and straighten out my urology visit to the new Urologist. As usual lately, it seems these things which use to be straight-forward, are far more detailed (for no reason I can see) and messier and require doing things I never had to before. Hoping this is all more due to not having seen the Urologist but once before — a face to face in his office and no procedures done. This time is the hospital and actual cystoscopy etc. I'd have started earlier had I know we were in for a production.
Betrayal, a whole lot of bells are ringing.
I hope you all have a good day.
2 -
llinoislady, thank you for telling me about the bells ringing. There are days when they almost sound like they are on autorepeat.
Lovely sunny day with temps to again be close to the 70's but still no real rain in the forecast. Will water the window boxes again and they do have reservoirs so I may overwater to fill them. Due to my stature shrinkage, I am unable to see in them now without the use of a stepladder.
Still working on cleaning rooms so today's focus was primary BR and bath with running the vacuum in two of the bedrooms and the hallway. So primary BR is done and will dust the hallway, and 2 bedrooms maybe tomorrow. Waiting for bathroom floor to dry and rugs are in the washer. Need to clean glass shade in bathroom and wipe down sink, tub and toilet which I will do before I put the rugs back. Once these are done I can just start weekly vacuuming and dusting downstairs yet again.
cindyny, love the photos. Hope you enjoy Adele since I am really envious of you for having tickets to her show. Enjoy the Grand Canyon and look for the condors around 4 PM when they seem to do a fly through. They are amazing to watch in flight due to their size and looking so prehistoric.
Hope everyone has a great day.

Great pictures, Cindy. It will be cold at the Grand Canyon too. They've already closed the north rim and there's snow in Flagstaff.
House is temporarily settled. I really like the way we moved some art work around. We'll keep the appliances until they die but won't spend money to repair them. Can't decide whether to do the windows or rugs next. Either will be less disruptive than the paint. Still want to get new towels etc. for both bathrooms but will probably wait for the January sales unless something catches my eye.
Been a down week for me too. I went to my first march for social justice 49 years ago and in my opinion, we are in for great setbacks. I don't know how much energy I have left though.
Golf course is fully open starting tomorrow so we no longer have to leave carts on the path and walk to the ball. That was hard for me so I haven't played much.
Betrayal, I have been working on my genealogy for about 25 years. Jackie, you are right. We are all part of the human race but for me it's been a fun hobby to understand my part in it. I've gotten farther back than you, Betrayal, but don't have all those good stories. And neither side were "savers" of family stuff other than a few pictures. Have a detailed description of migration west when they were cutting the trails as they went and love the story about an ancestor who promised the English that he wouldn't war against them after being taken prisoner in 1813 but of course he did. Have done more of Mom's but am thinking I should get back to Dad's. My folks have no common ancestors but my sister and brother-in-law do from early MA. When we were at Ken's nephew's a few years ago, he showed me a bible with an inscription that it had been carried from Ohio to Illinois in 1850 and I had done enough work on Ken's family to tell him more about who wrote it. Yes, Carole, I know that paragraph is too long!
Have a good weekend.

Wow !! Overcast today as the furnace runs. Took so long for me to warm up last night, even under my comforter, that I wondered if furnace was working. Glad it is. Nothing much planned for the day. Not sure it will be a lazy day, but just no lined up structure.
I hope you all stay well and have a good day.

Taco, great story about your genealogical research. I am hampered by Irish ancestry and a ggf with German surname who just seemed to appear as "born in NJ" since we cannot establish his parentage. He is the one who had 2 wives where my cousin is descended from his first wife (also German surname) and I from his second wife with the definite Irish surname. It is a fun hobby especially when you can share it with someone else who is eager to share results, bounce ideas off each other and to empathize when you hid a roadblock. I've been lucky to have had 2 such relationships: one from maternal side and the other from the paternal side.
I love a good mystery so I think this is why I find genealogy so mesmerizing. When they say the "Past is Prologue", this is true of family history.
We do know of distant family relatives who have family memorabilia which they used to tease my cousin but refused to share. They did get their hands on a copy of the family story I wrote and posted it without my permission. This is why when I have a family member approach me, I ask what they are willing to share since so far all they want is what I have. Having spent countless hours and lots of money on the research to obtain validated records, I am not so willing to just hand it over to them. When I have shared, I later found that they claimed ownership of the information I provided and did not credit me at all whereas I have cited every resource including conversations with or letters from family members.
In the town where we used to live, during one visit, my mother disclosed that her oldest brother had helped build the homes lining the main street. They were lovely old gray stone twin homes (now called carriage houses). This same brother had been married 3 times but I only knew his last wife. He had 5 children by his first wife and then adopted his last wife's 2 daughters.
Today is a lovely sunny day but only predicted to be in the 50's. Last rain of greater than 1 inch was 92 days ago and last sprinkle was 1 days ago. The trees are getting barer and I really am not a fan of the starkness of winter.
DD and DSIL came yesterday afternoon to take my favorite Queen Anne to the upholsterer for me. They asked if I could deliver it but it wouldn't fit in either of our cars and I did not want to damage it. I have to have the back reupholstered since Misty decided this was her scratch post even though I have them scattered throughout the house.
I will need to have the back replaced and hope they can replace parts of the damaged sides abutting the back corners. I tried to find this fabric but it seems it is no longer available and it was the source of the color pallete for the entire living room so I do not want to do a total replacement. The owners said they can replace the back panel. I think I will go with a solid colored velvet if I can find one to match one of the shades in the patterned fabric. Seriously I fell in love with this patterned fabric at first sight and then had all the other furniture reupholstered to complement it. I now have a gate blocking the living room opening. Misty cannot jump gates but the 2 other cats can. Tawny likes the throw on the love seat so she still has access. Leo seldom goes in there and he is an expert leaper.
People seldom explore the north rim of the Grand Canyon but there is a lovely lodge there and the view, while not as amazing as the south rim, is still quite beautiful and not as commercial.
Hope everyone has a great day. I'm just going to finish up the second floor cleaning and then binge watch Prime suspect on Britbox.

I won't be joining any marches but I will be supporting organizations that fight for people's rights. And for protecting the environment.
On the home front, dh's recovery after total knee replacement has been amazing. I'm a real believer in his surgeon's robotic surgery. When we went for dh's appointment on Tuesday, the PA showed me the metal joint that was "installed" in dh's knee. Dh has already scheduled the second surgery for mid January. He is looking forward to having two good knees. His goal is to be able to squat again and get up off the floor with reasonable effort.
I'm about to bite the bullet and go on the WW site with the idea that I might go the WW route again. I'm a lifetime member and have followed a number of different WW programs through the years. I really really really would like to drop 10 lbs or 20 lbs and need a push.
Taco, I wish I had your enthusiasm for golf. I don't know what happened to mine. I once played 3 times a week. As soon as the weather gets more comfortable, I'll make a tee time and go out and play 9 holes by myself. I'm a member of a Tuesday/Friday group but haven't played with them in many months. It sounds as though you have a really nice group of women golfers. I would drop our club membership, which is quite expensive, but dh still enjoys playing when we're here in Louisiana.
I plan to walk this morning so I should get moving.
Happy Saturday to everyone.

Friday before the concert we went to Red Rock Canyon. We’ve both been there twice before but it’s been 20 years. The information center is much bigger, where we took a 15 minute guided walk outside to learn some good info and take in the permanent exhibits on earth, wind, and fire (no band lol).
PS - we have the national parks pass and to get in only cost us $2. I spent over $50 in the gift shop knowing the money stays there. It’s not letting my photos load. I’ll try later. Happiness is a process of radiation, not absorption. No need to seek for happiness. Happiness is within. Happiness is the only thing where the more you give, the more you possess. Pleasure can be bought at a price. Happiness is priceless.

Good morning. So wonderful to wake up to such great pictures, ladies. Artwish, although I find spiritual comforts in water and water pictures, I also love the grandeur of trees. In winter I think of the huge amt. of trees in our yard as Sentinels watching over it till Spring and their dressing back up with all their varied leaves and intense colors.
A bit of sun this morning after rain for the night. Our leaves are plastered on the ground. Still working on getting adjusted to Nov 5th. Not easy, and it has made me a little quiet but like you Carole — I'll be looking for those people and organizations that make things better for all.
May go to Goodwill this morning and see if there any good puzzles hanging around. We/I am working on the last (new/old) one we had purchased some time back. I still check for my older little group of "good" buys which were big thirsty towels and premium cookware pots and pans. That said, with the under $5.00 each towels and $7.50 pots and pans — if they are there I might take them. Thinking even those prices could go up a bit in a market like we could soon be having. Even handbags — starting at $2.50 when the store first opened now charge all the way up to $15.00 or $20.00 as name brands on them show up. I've had my fill long ago, but I do look. It's a habit. I also check the book aisle.
Hope you all have a great day. For you Betrayal, wish it were a rainy one.

I did rejoin WW online yesterday. It's $10 a month for ten months. Wish me success. I'm back to measurements and choices. I like the WW app and also like the Create a Recipe option. One change in WW is setting your own goal weight. WW used to set the goal weight for you based on a scale of healthy range. My heathy range is a little low for someone my age.
Two more appointments, one on Monday and one on Tuesday and some clear days ahead. Every year the annual appointments end up clustered together. I'm a little concerned about my dental appointment because of a new sensitivity in my upper left teeth. I hope a big expense isn't looming.
Happy Sunday to all.

Finally got a few - this is still Red Rock, from Friday.

Adele concert was spectacular. I took more videos than pictures. A totally engrossing show, we’ve never seen a residence show - it’s much more than a concert. In full Vegas fashion, they dropped a lot/ton of shinny confetti over her and POOF, she disappeared and the show was over.
She spoke to the audience, engaged in conversation, walked thru the audience, shot tee shirts up to the 3rd & 4th levels, did a lottery to pull someone and a guest out of the 4th level to sit down in front of her. It was her 95th show out of 100 at Caesars. Once in a lifetime, I’m glad we got to see her.2 -
Confetti dump. Disappearing Adele.

Good picture of you and partner, Cindy. Glad you enjoyed the concert.

Whether you know it or not, one of the most important relationships in
your life is with your Soul. Will you be kind and loving to your Soul,
or will you be harsh and difficult? Many of us unknowingly damage
our Souls with our negative attitudes and actions or by simple neglect.
By making the relationship with your Soul an important part of your
life, however, by honoring it in your daily routine, you give your life
greater meaning and substance. Use your experiences--all of
them--as opportunities to nourish your Soul!

Good morning. 49 degrees here but the sun is gorgeous. I'm sure we will warm okay. Cindy, I'm so impressed with all pictures. I was only at the Grand Canyon once, but it such a magnificent place. Despite my deep love of water GC always a great sense of the spiritual.
Adele — wow is all you can say. True artistry. She looked great.
Nothing special for today much but trying to catch up. Then again, that's my story most days. I'm really feeling over Covid now, so hopefully I'll have a bit more energy. Slowly but surely has been a part of the last week and a half.
Hope you all have a good day.

DD took me to see a screening of Andrea Bocelli's 30th anniversary show at the IMAX in King of Prussia. It was shot in his hometown Lajatico in Tuscany. The theater was called Teatro del Silenzio. It is an outdoor venue that can seat 12,000 people and it was packed. The concert was in July 202 and it turns out the couple sitting in front of us had attended it. So the movie showed him entertaining people who appeared in the concert at his home. It was a full cast of singers and some celebrities. I thoroughly enjoyed it and may go back for a repeat. I would love to see him live in concert.
After we ran to the Cheesecake Factory to get takeout dinners since DH and DSIL were watching the Eagles game. That cheesecake counter is overwhelming with all those delights to choose from. The one I chose tasted like a snickers bar and I only ate 1/2 it was so rich. Every bite was scrumptious. DD got triple berry, DSIL got Celebration and DH got the same as me. We all saved some for tonight.
cindyny, still in envy that you got to see Adele live. I just adore her voice and songs. I can remember when people made fun of her because of her size and how she just shrugged it off and kept at her craft, now look at her.
carole, did not realize your husband's TKR was a robotic one. They do seem to do better post-op. I had an open replacement so recovery is slower but I have absolutely no regrets. Glad he is doing so well.
DD trimmed Misty and Tawny's nails for me. Misty's were quite long and extra sharp. We distract her with a treat since she is all 4 paws and not fond if this. She growls the entire time.
Going to go to upholsterer today to pick out fabric for the back of the chair. She had sent 2 swatches and while I like the one, I want to see if she has one that is a bit bluer. I have a swatch of the fabric from when I had it done originally so I will take it with me. The second one was a definite "no".
Today is sunny, supposed to hit 70 and we did get some rain overnight. I don't think it will make a dent in the drought though. The ground is so hard, I am not sure if any got absorbed. Hope everyone has a great day.

Carole - Ken says he never played golf with anyone who scored as badly as I do and still enjoyed it a lot. I do think it's because over our 28 years here, I have found wonderful friends to play with. Good luck with WW. Interesting that you now set your own goal weight. I'm just not motivated enough to rejoin and if I lost much I'd have to buy a whole new wardrobe - which I did last time and that isn't where I want to spend my funds right now (how's that for an excuse!)
Betrayal - I agree genealogy is a puzzle. I'm stuck on an Irish ancestor too although I know her birth date from her death certificate. She didn't marry until she was older and I don't know if the name she married with is a birth name or previous married name. Spent lots of time on the Famine records with no luck. Interesting story there too. There is a 6 year old who is in the house of the "newlyweds" in the 1860 census as well as their own 2 year old. Found her in 1870 too but she then disappears. My grandmother (the 2 year old) told my sister that the older girl was a witch who her mother stole before she came to the U.S. I doubt that she was a "witch" but may have been brought by my GG when she immigrated. Doubt I'll ever know.
Glad you're feeling better, Jackie. My daughter said it took her a long time to get her sense of smell and taste back.
Great pictures Cindy.
Cold in the mornings now but warms up nicely during the day. I had to shed a layer while I played Saturday.

Today we drove to the Henderson Bird Viewing park. You know I thought of Puffin! We walked around numerous ponds - it’s late, and I can’t remember if there were 9 or 12! We walked about 2.5 miles.
Tonight we went back to the strip to T-Mobile for the NHL Golden Knights hockey game. They put on a full Vegas “show” of the knights, a monster, use of AI to make it appear the ice is being smashed up by the monster, and then the dragon blows fire to kill it. It’s was a good time! The Knights lost to the Carolina Hurricanes.
I bought the tickets on StubHub and the parking pass too. We went early so I could see where I was driving. Then we went into the MGM Park - the only nonsmoking casino on the strip, where I played the slots. Comfortable surround sound chairs, I played Wheel of Fortune. Although I didn't win a fortune I did win about $70. All fun.
One more full day tomorrow (Tuesday) and then a full day of travel getting back home on Wednesday. It’s been a lot of fun, but I’ll be glad to get back to eastern standard time and in my own bed.
Nite ladies!3 -
Betrayal, dh's surgery was open knee. He has a long incision. But a robot was programmed by the surgeon and performed the actual surgery. He is driving himself to his first outpatient PT this morning. He didn't take any pain med except Tylenol last night. His only complaint is that he hasn't been sleeping soundly and pain isn't an issue.
Nice photos, Cindy. I enjoy playing the slots but don't enjoy losing money.
I have my dental appointment at 11 am and plan to go to chair yoga at 1 pm.
Taco, love your reasoning! LOL. My motivation comes from dislike of my appearance and concern about my health. One thing that surprises me about WW is how few meetings there are now. There is only one close enough for me to attend. I haven't decided yet if I'll expand the membership to include meetings. Online may be adequate. I am one of those people who operate better with a fairly rigid plan. I'm already looking ahead to Thanksgiving road travel and the challenges of food choice. I hope to limit gaining back lbs.
It's cooler this morning and drippy with light rain.
Happy Tuesday.

Let us be merciful in our mental judgments of our brothers and sisters,
for, in truth, we are all one, and the more deeply they seem to err,
the more urgent is the need for us to help them with the right thought,
and so make it easier for them to get free.

Taco, for the Famine records, did you get the International Ancestry package? I haven't done that so far due to the cost and uncertain leads. I'd love to look at them so if you can provide the source, I'll thank you in advance. The child that disappeared in the 1870's, was there an epidemic that occurred during that period? Church records might offer some information but those from the Catholic church are pricey plus you must provide detailed info that you don't have. I wish they would open access for a fee so you could do your own search.
carole, thanks for the clarification about DH's knee surgery. I am amazed at how well he is doing and it may be due to the robotic surgery. Good luck with WW's.
cindyny, love the photos and that you thought of Puffin at the preserve. I think she would be pleased that others share her love for birds and nature.
Repair of Queen Anne chair is less than I thought it would be though the look will be altered due to what sections need to be replaced. The front and arms of the chair will remain intact, its just the side panels and back that need replacing. I have used this place for most of my reupholstering and they do great work. She did not realize we live within 5 miles of them so once they finish, they will deliver to the house. They are very busy as evidenced by all the furniture I saw there awaiting reupholstering.
Today is sunny but very blustery with gusty winds. Given how dry it is they are hoping those fires already in progress will not spread more or that no more break out. It's going to stay in the low 50's though so I am not inclined to go outside. I will check the front porch to see if it needs sweeping though. Got a list of house tasks I want to get done today and then I'll finish off the last episode of the Prime Suspect series on Britbox.
This coming weekend is Penn's homecoming and we will be going but I hope it warms up some before then. I love going and we try to go every year. DS's birthday is Thursday and DDIL is trying to set up a family party for him, which they usually don't do for his, but we had already purchased tickets months ago. So if she changes it to Sunday, we can go.
Going to be a sunshiny day so I am hoping that it is the same for everyone.

Good morning everyone. Sun is out bright, but our days are getting much cooler. I loved the pics. I like doing a small amt. of gambling on the machines now and then. I limit myself to a $20.00 bill. If that produces I'm thrilled, but like Carole I frown on losing — so not a penny more. I usually win more than lose, but I don't allow myself that many outings on the machines. My sister became addicted to gambling living near some Indian casinos and while I don't worry too much — I don't wish to accidentally lose money I might need so for me a highly controlled extravagance that usually works out okay.
I had robotic surgery and loved it. That was for my cancerous Ureter. They also took the kidney that side as well at the same time. Mainly as I would have had to have deep anesthesia every three months for five yrs. to check THAT kidney for cancer. At my age, all that anesthesia so often for so long was a poor idea. I had 5 small incisions. Number of cuts due to the robot used — one robot was only capable of three cuts — I drew the one capable of five. I had no real pain — more a heaviness and outer healing was quite quick. I'd likely for that reason tend to choose any robotic surgery if offered.
I think any dietary adjustments you can stick to are likely right. I tried WW one time and well as South Beach. On both I was able to lose 33 pounds relatively easily, although I did feel some deprivation on both. At the time I ended up liking South Bch. better — but only due to their methods of helping you overcome salt and sugar addictions. Otherwise, both programs were pretty much the same. At the time of my WW excursion the program was based on food being given 'points' and when you reached what was prescribed to be your point limit for your height and wt. you had to stop eating for that 24 hr. period.
Carole, I hope you do well, and I bet you do. I think some forms of will power get better as we age. I have been amazed at the amts. of salt I've chased out of my diet. It felt like an almost un-doable thing in the beginning, and I was surprised to find it not always pleasant but actually easy when I started to discover how to spot keys to finding what answered my needs.
Not sure (I usually have to see it in my email) but I found the web-site Heart Healthy Market.com. They have all sorts of dietary food to buy, including no and low salt, lo caloric food, etc. A real boon to find more saltless foods. Just an idea though.
Hope you day is great.

With all our walking my left knee has been swelling. It gets painful, cracks a lot and swells. This isn’t the knee that I recently got a shot in, that was my right knee. I should see if I can get in for a shot in the left knee. I’m guessing that when the right one hurt so much I put my weight in the left. Who knows! Over the years it’s been drained a few times. I don’t think it’s swollen enough for that, but I’d accept a shot. Both are bone on bone.
I think it was Sandy who when describing her trip to Vegas, said how much it’s changed. Well, we haven’t been out here in 20 years and saying it’s changed is an understatement. There are tons of highways that weren’t here then, and a population explosion too. The surrounding areas have housing booms, but water is scarce. A nice place to visit, we’re in a desert, but I wouldn’t want to live here. I think I’d only come back out for another residency type concert; stay on the strip; and keep it a short stay.
Betrayal, my partner does ancestry for his family and mine. He’s paid for the “extra” guide in Ancestry; I believe he got an 50% off deal. My family hasn’t been in the US long, but his has. Some of the work he does takes him deep into past family.
Jackie, I too limit myself on how much I’m willing to lose at the slots. It’s an addiction for many. I have friends & family that will hit big ($10k plus), but don’t let on how much they’ve lost. I had actually planned on using more $ than I did, but my partner doesn’t gamble - unless I give him a $20 and say get away from me. And this time he sat next to me.
Carole, it sounds like your dh is doing great. Congrats to you on joining WW. I’ve only worked out like a gym rat and used MyFitnessPal app to track my calorie intake. It’s been about 4 years since gym rat days. I’ll need to focus on intake once we’re back in Florida. (my excuse to postpone)It’s cooler again today and very windy. We were out late last night with plenty of walking, so we slept in. We need to decide if we go wander someplace or stick close to the place and just plan where to eat dinner. We’ll be up at 2:30-3AM to get the car returned, shuttles back to the airport, and at then boarding. Which reminds me I haven’t done the Southwest boarding check in!!!
