Good luck Mal, we seem to be having a run of that lately so hope your news is just as good:)

Thanks Jo, yes I'm still so relieved and can't believe it half the time lol...the stress of not having that particular worry was weighing me down more than I thought:)

Hope you also are well and thanks for thinking of me. xx

    Hi All

There's been lots of great results this week and I hope you girls are celebrating.

My results are still not in yet so still waiting, but hoping that this run of B9 results lasts a while longer.

    Take care

    Mal

I am on board with B9 wishes for you Mal and all of the others awaiting results.  Let's keep the streak going!  We all deserve a little break from the stress and uncertainty of BC for a while (or forever...that would be great too).  Best wishes allCool

Hope I'm not intruding but have read all the wonderful B9 results and hope mine will be just that.

I have a CT Scan of abd/liver tomorrow morning for enlarged liver, elevated enzymes, pain & occasional nausea.

Hope your day is a grand one.

    Hugs, Liz

Lizws- I will be thinking of you and hoping for B9.

I jumped in 2 soon before and now I am back. I also have a ct/pet scan but mine is Wed. no symptoms but a routine follow up.

even though I feel okay and I don't think anything will show up, my anxiety level is off the charts.

    will check back later

    Hi girls

Thanks for the good wishes - they've worked!

Abcess under scar tissue which pushed the hard tissue to the surface hence the hard lump!!!

I can book the hairdressers now. I was thinking that it would be waste of money if I was going to lose my hair again.

Good vibes for anyone still waiting for results. Hopefully we're on a roll.

    Mal x

PS Will this BC rollercoaster ever stop? I think not.

Yay Mal!  I am so happy that you got b9 news as well.  Even though the BS did an ultraound and told me that it was scar tissue just having it there is freaking me out a little still, how are you ladies dealing with that?   I know this is mental because we have all had such bad luck in the past with lumps and maybe more so for people like me who had chemo first and had a longer relationship with a tumor that I knew was cancerous.  I have to admit that during chemo I felt my tumor often to see if it was shrinking (and it was).  I now catch myself feeling this scar tissue lump all of the time.  Then I remind myself that I saw the ultrasound and I am on Femara which is treatment so I guess I need to chillax.  Sorry, I am venting.  I am so glad for you Mal and hope we can all get off this train at the next exit for a little while.  Best wishes all!!

I had surgery in Feb '09 for Stage 1b BC high in axilla.   In April '09, a mammogram revealed 5 cm calcifications in upper arm (that turned out to be DCIS).  I had surgery removing lots of tissue (mainly NOT breast)  in the axilla & upper arm and 22 lymph nodes (ALL negative).  I received radiation last summer and have been on antiestrogen tx & zoledronic acid.  My axilla never healed fully (still drops of clear stuff every morning) and I have arm lymphedema and one bout of cellulitis.

About a month ago, a surgeon I was seeing for wound treatment felt a bump (I won't say the word lump!) on the same side a few inches below the original tumor.  I saw a local medical oncologist 2 weeks ago who didn't notice it and blew it off as nothing when I pointed it out.  I had planned on switching back to my original Sloan Kettering oncologist and so had an appointment with her.  She felt it and scheduled an ultrasound.  Today, I had the ultrasound.  It definitely isn't a cyst (darn!), and the radiologist thinks it might be a lymph node.  So, in an amazing feat of efficiency, I had a mammogram and fine needle biopsy today as well.  So, I am in the waiting room.  I've been here too many times this year ... and the news rarely has been good.  Maybe it is just a hyperactive lymph node ..... KSI, I'm so sorry you are waiting again having gone through so much this past year:(

Sending good thoughts and positive vibes for a B9 result..don't assume the news will be bad. We've all had great news lately when convinced it would be otherwise and I hope you will too:)

The biopsy was benign!!!!  It was indeed a lymph node, but there was no cancer in it -- just an overworked lymph node trying to do the job of the 22 that were removed.   The mammogram showed some calcifications, but they are stable from the mammogram I had 4 months ago.  I am so happy that this long  long month of worrying is over.  -- KS1

KSI, wonderful news and I'm so happy for you:)

I know that feeling of relief that comes too from so much stress....enjoy!!!

Nene, when I first developed this scar tissue on my lumpectomy site I was always checking myself and convinced it had changed.  Having had three clear mammos since then, I'm now comfortable in ignoring it.  However, you're right that it does cause false anxiety and stress:)

So happy for the b9ners!!  Yay!!!  I'm waiting too.  I found a lump and had a pet scan on friday.  I am beside myself with worry but I'm trying hard to stay busy and get through the weekend.  Having a big dinner with the family today for my dd's 16th bday.  All I do is tear up when I think of what the results could be.  I have to go to a funeral tomorrow so I can't call in for the results until the afternoon.  Tomorrow will be a tough day.  Wondering if they will tell me over the phone or if they will make me come in???  Does anyone know if lupron can make fibrocystic changes in the breast?  This area of concern was a fibrocystic area biospyed years ago and was b9 but now it's changed and I'm thinking maybe it's the lupron?  just wishful thinking.

Thanks TriciaK, my onc called today and the pet scan showed nothing!!!  yay!!!  I was so happy.  Still have to have the lump checked by surgeon at next mammo on wednesday but onc said it is not likely to be malignant because it didn't show on the pet.  I feel a weight lifted from my shoulders (well, at least for a few months!).

Thats great news Sukiann, I'm so happy for you and am sure it's benign too.  My pet/ct came back clear even though the bone scan and mri showed something, but in the end the pet was the more reliable and it was nothing:)

Glad you can breathe easy again. xx

KS1 and Sukiann- great news!  Love it!

I am back for a short wait....I had a brain MRI tonight because I have been having blurred vision which worsened into double vision over the last month.  I should have my results tomorrow.  Ugh.  I keep telling myself that whatever is going on in my body is going on whether I have a scan and know about it or not.  For some reason it iss eems so much more agonizing after the scan has been done.  I feel bad for those of you who have to wait days for results.  I usually know my results within 24 hours.

    Have a great week, everyone!

    Thanks, Sukiann!

Brain MRI was clear.  Not sure why the double vision...chemo, I guess.  Anyone else feel like they keep dodging bullets??  Ugh.  I have a PET in less than 2 weeks so my hiatus from being an active "waiter" in this room is short.

I hope everyone else gets a nice long break!

    Hi Lori,

I'm sorry I missed your "waiting " as I had some house guests staying for a few days and did'nt get a chance to log in.   I'm so glad to know the mri brain scan was okay and have everything crossed for your pet which I'm sure will be fine:)
