Hey girls! Patoo, It has been fun, for some reason, returning this year has been enjoyable and not the dreaded "I'm not ready to go back". It's a great class!
It's been really hot or rainy, or hot and rainy everyday here. I'm ready for some cooler weather, but it is only the middle of August
.Must be dr time, I go to onc next week.

Good Night. 5:00PM here and I'm off to do some catch up sleep before my CAT scan tomorrow.
So what's up with this crap they gave me to drink? Never had a CAT before.0 -
PM-I never had to drink anything for a CAT scan. I've had them give me an IV injection. What's up with that? Must not have tasted good from the "crap" description-no bubble gum or grape flavoring? Thinking of you.

OOh Paulding...I had that crap Is it a white liquid in a can or bottle?
I'm not sure which test required me to have it. But it was cat scan related. I picked up a bottle night before. And when I got there the next morning they gave me another one. I held my nose drank it. Yuck.

Paulding, When do you have to drink it? If it is right before the scan, it is probably Barium, I had one six months ago and they called it a "Berryum Smoothie". Like I was going to like drinking wet talcum powder more if they flavored it. I have a follow up CT on Wednesday next week, and hope they won't be needing that for the area they are re-checking.
I am allergic to the contrast IV, so I have to pre-medicate before the CT. They usually have you drink the stuff if they are checking your digestive system.

Yep, that's the stuff. I drink it today at 9:45 and again at 12:45. Not looking at my digestive track that I am aware of. Looking at my lower back, but I betcha they wanna make sure nothing is stuck in the hernia. Now they think this lump in my back is a hernia not a tumor. I'm not sure what to root for but if it's a hernia it would better explain my leg pain. Besides, I'm sick of the word Tumor.

Hi all. Seyla, no, it's not the first but the last one was 11 years ago. It's just about time for me to start having my 8 oz coctails every 10 mins so I think I'm in the house for the day/night.
Hope everyone ungoing procedures do okay and PM, I think a hernia is the lesser of 2 evils.
And, yes, where is Ainm?

Pauding, perhaps if they fill your digestive tract with the stuff it will provide a better backdrop for viewing aginst.

Ugh, they didn't tell me about the IV
Oh well, test went fine. The junk I had to drink also took care of my potty issue (TMI?) today I feel refreshed and with very little pain. Sounds more and more like a hernia. Thanks for all the well wishes. They will give me more details today hopefully. I don't want to wait till Monday.

Congrats on the milestones, Paulding!
Last time I had a CT in Feb., I had my breast MRI that morning. I asked if I could keep the IV in for the CT that afternon, and they let me. (They taught me how to flush it.) So I get to the CT, and the Tech says the needle is smaller than they usually use, but he'd try. And try he did. He blew out the vein, so they had to put the IV in above my elbow because they couldn't find another good vein. Could it have been because I was in so much pain that my veins constricted? I think so.

Got through most of the colon coctail - just could not get down that last bit so only finished about 80%. I think they give you extra anyway because they know some (like me) will just say
"no more!". By then I was flowing clear anyway. (sorry TMI)the colonoscopy went okay - nice sleep. One polyp was found which they sent out to the lab so will wait for that report. Not stressing over it at all.

I am here. We had a busy weekend of yardwork and cooking on Saturday, church, luncheon, and Board meeting yesterday. I felt like the weekend slipped away.
I left work early today for a Dr. appt. and get to play hookie on Wednesday for another. That ought to break up the week for me.
