sounds good, I say another 5 minutes? is that alright with everyone?

Can I get a group consensus on how much longer to wait? I'm fine, but not sure how you all are. Sheila is doing the Rosary and I am reciting Hail Mary

I started at your 5 min mark - have 3 more to do.

Then shall we all join in, if we have not already? Thanks Janet

St Jude thank you for letting us begin our novena on your feast day. It brings to us such wonder that it happened on this day, we are a small group asking big things. Should you and God , and the son of God Jesus, and the Blessed Mary seek to fufill any of our requests, let it be for the ones that have the greastest need. With great respect sheila

God is anyplace, if a church or chapel isn't available say a prayer. As a nurse i started each day with prayer. When i went to start an IV i said a prayer. I quess I prayed for most every thing. Before each surgery I said a prayer . Mostly it was to our Mother Mary. I always felt her protection, if things got hairy , I'd say an Our Farther. Don't know why ,but i felt Mary's protection, our Fathers protection to guide us right.

Good evening sister, (I know almost everyone is asleep).
My rad office had lost power today and the 2 machines had to reboot, that meant it pushed everybody's appointment to 1 hr 45 mins behind schedule. I left the office past 5pm today. Had to go and get my eye glasses fixed or else the trial period ends. That took 2 hours and then we had to go eat dinner. Sorry I didn't make it to the group prayer tonight, I will do it solo later and make it up.
Sheila ~ thank you again for your pointer, I have a note book but stopped entering my entries, but will do it again starting tomorrow to do some catching up. What I do now is just a couple of really short sentences to describe the event, but I can add a bit of detail on each day. It is troubling when the docs and nurses discount your pain.
Sheila, if you don't mind who is sister of Faust? I am lost with that story :-(
Traci ~ thanks for asking, my axilla is giving me some "burnt" sensation.
Mary ~ my deepest sympathy about Kristen (your sister-in-law). She has no more pain now.
Good nite all.
Namaste !!

Good Morning Ladies-
I wanted to just let you know one extra prayer. Yesterday my son had his first "emergency incident" with his Diabetes. I think I have told many of you that he was dxed at age 7 with Juvenile Diabetes, he is insulin dependent and does pretty well. He is an athlete and that is good it keeps up his self esteem and a reason for staying on top of his blood sugar but yesterday he forgot to eat midmorning and was playing football with friends and went into a very low state his blood sugar got to as low as 20 (for you nurses you know how that is) Picture Julia Roberts in Steel Magnolias in the chair getting her hair done and she go's into the diabetic episode. We could not get sugar in him he flipped out.
Anyway we finally lined his gums with sugar and he came around but it was scary and I still think I have not fully dealt with it all!
Please keep DS in you prayers!

Here is a few vs. to help you put prayer into proper perspective!
"...pray without ceasing."
(Thess. 5:17)
Here's the best part. Jesus didn't tell us to memorize long complicated prayers. Nor did Jesus tell us that our prayers had to be poetic.
Prayer in its simplest terms is you talking with God and then listening to Him for His answers and direction.
So, what's the best way to pray to God? Again, Jesus tells us...
"...whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive."
(Mat. 21:22)0 -
Michelle: Keeping your son in prayer. That must have been so scary!!
Sheila: What a blessing it would be to have a nurse like you attending me in the hospital!! It was "coincidence" that both my surgeon and rad onc are Catholic, I felt so reassured when he came to me at pre-op wearing his medals, and I know my rad onc leads a prayer group at her church for cancer patients. There's a prayer box in her office where you can write your request and they pray for them. It's just a comfort knowing that those whom you trust with your health and life love and pray to our Father in heaven.
Paula: You have had a time of it lately!!
I fell asleep on the sofa last night and slept like a baby. I didn't even do my usual wake up to sip water routine. My body was just exhausted.
I hope everyone has a fun weekend!! Tricks or treats! (I'm really a humbug when it comes to Halloween, but my grandsons make it more fun for me now.)

Paula - have you looked into another doctor/facility in your area? There's no reason to stay with a team that you have doubts about (the people and/or the equipment). My guess is you would have more peace of mind if you switched altogether.
Michelle - hope all is calm today w/son
Theresa - I ended up with a Catholic surgeon in a Catholic hospital (another 'coincidence'). Last thing I remember before I went under was a "God bless."
Traci - thanks for trying to get us organized last night - it's a little like herding cats when we all get on
TRICK OR TREAT :)

Janet,
That's so funny, I am having one of those full belly laughs shoulders rocking! Treat Please!
Michelle,
Bless your heart, that is terribly frightening, and you did a GREAT JOB! Low insuling is very scary, and I have seen it and been there pushing my big old Glucose many a time. How is he doing today?
Mary (Apple) Was there a loss in your family? I will look back, you have had too much going on. I pray you are well.

Michelle,
How comforting to see your post about prayer. It helps me to see that I have been praying for much longer than I thought I had. I am frequently in dialogue, asking questions, or just chattering. Or if I see something beautiful I give thanks for God's artwork.
Speaking of artwork, there are many posters that share gorgeous pictures here on the boards. There is one that faithfandfifty just posted in the Power of Prayer thread that I think will resonate will everyone here, so would you take a peek? It is the ocean picture
