    Nancy,

I am so sorry for your loss.  My father died in 2000.  He too didn't know what was going on.  I remember the last time I visited him he asked me who I was, then asked if I was Judy(my sister who is 20 yrs older than me)...we actually DO look a lot alike....or have at different points in our lives.

Can I tell you I think of him now w/ every rosary...sheesh w/ anything Catholic...he insisted on saying the rosary on EVERY SINGLE road trip.  I buy a rosary every time I visit a different cathedral.  My father was my catholic inspiration....truly the reason I am here.  My mother was protestant (eventually converted a couple of days before she died but raised us all catholic)and I was the accidental change of life baby 10 yrs after the other 5 before me.  I have a huge debt of gratitude for my daddio and catholicism(no birth control).

My catholic bible study class started last night and I used my Dad's bible.  It is so wonderful to open it and see his handwriting and find prayer cards, bookmarkers, wedding announcements, etc.  I feel like he's with me....and the him I remember is the one w/ the rosaries, at the Ft. Worth zoo riding his favorite tilt-a whirl...O man...now I'm typing thru tears....I am so happy he's no longer suffering and confused. HEY our dad's are togethr Nancy!  and if I know mine he's keeping your dad's wine glass full....(but of gallo-he was a banker, lived thru the depression and father of 6= very frugal).

I pray for your peace and the memory of your father

    love and prayers dear,

    xoxo

Thank-you all. I am doing well. Because of the distance (my father was with my sister in FL, and his home is in NY), we're not having the funeral for a week. I have several brothers and sisters who live across the country, so this will give them time to get decent flights to NY...or drive, in one case.

Anyway, by then, I think it will be anti-climatic. Things are being done in short spurts, not hurried. We worked on his obit today and I laid out two possible outfits. Two of my brothers have already changed things around there. Doesn't really matter to me. I guess they wanted that tie I picked out for themselves.

Enough about me. I'm still doing the novena...and I hope St. Peregrine is listening. For Heidi, Stephanie, and all the ladies of this organization, I pray. Amen.

Have been away from the boards for a while getting busy with living and just found this thread.  I, too, received the Prayer to Peregrine from a couple of people and prayed the prayer daily.  Happy to say I am Ned and give the honor and glory to God and all the saints who interceded on my behalf.

    Hugs and blessings!

    Lori.

Ladies... I will not be online from Friday, 9/25-Monday 9/28.

There is a large group here.. that I personally named The Ta Ta Sisterhood a very long time ago... We are going to Las Vegas to meet. We will be attending a Susan Koman fund-raiser to kick off Breast Cancer Awareness month ( OCT)... :)

This is a trip that is open to ALL TA TA's on BCO. It started out being a little group.. and grew...:)...

A Ta Ta is defined as ANY WOMAN who had Breast Cancer in her TaTa.. OR a woman who was going to get BC ( shown on her Brac test).. and choose to have surgery... and met here.. on BCO as our support group... No one is left out.

I hope.. next year... we have even more Ta Ta Sisters!

Pray for us, if you will... for safety.

    God Bless you all!

    Laura
