St. Peregrine, please intercede on behalf of those suffering from cancer. Blessed Mother Mary, please ask Our Lord to guide the researchers' hands and minds to find the cures for breast cancer so that mothers are not taken from their children so young. Amen.

Good morning dear sisters, just want to remind you that God did not give us a spirit of fear. Keep your eyes on him and lean not on your own understanding. I know, easier said then done, but God tells us to put on His armour, HIS WORD, HIS PROMISES, HIS FAITHFULNESS AND THE NAME JESUS. Powerful, powerful, and most of all pray, pray, pray. You can overcome. The one guarentee we have in this world is that we all die and unfortunately we fear what we don't know. I wish we could change that and rejoice at whats ahead. That the life we now lead is full of pain and suffering, not one of us gets away easy but when this life is ended thats when we truly are HOME and life begins. Wouldn't it be great if we all said to one another, "ya your going home soon, lucky you".

I love each and everyone of you, and ask God to send us His HOLY SPIRIT, to refresh us and send us HIS PEACE and to GUIDE US threw our trials and I ask this in the NAME OF JESUS. BLESSED MOTHER INTERCEDE FOR US, ST PEREGRINE PRAY FOR US.

Prayers for all who are anxious, sorrowful or in pain because of breast cancer.

Below are pictures of what I am donating to our parish's school auction. I collect these antique, gilded, Italian frames at sales and antique stores.  The images are cut from larger works found in books.

Good evening ladies!  Saying another prayer for my friend Betty who has her lumpectomy tomorrow...MRI has already indicated possible lymph node involvement....

Tomorrow is a BIG, BIG Marian Feast Day......"Our Lady of the Rosary"!!!  I will offer a few comments from our Pope, Benedict XVI:

"May Mary help us to welcome within ourselves the grace emanating from these mysteries, so that through us we can "water" society, beginning with our daily relationships, and purifying them from so many negative forces, thus opening them to the newness of God.

The rosary, when it is prayed in an authentic way, not mechanical and superficial, but profoundly, brings, in fact, peace and reconciliation.  It contains within itself the healing power of the Most Holy Name of Jesus, invoked with faith and love at the center of each"Hail Mary."

    AMEN!

God Bless each of you and your intentions this evening!

    Angel

    Jennifer,

Funny you should bring up profaning God's name...I used to do it fairly often until a couple of years ago, and I so regret having done it at all.  Now, hubby still does do it. We just had a wonderful visit with his daughter and granddaughter (8 y/o) and I am sorry to say BOTH of them use G-D name inappropriately either with damn or Oh my G-d, and do it so easily, that my heart broke a bit each time.  I feel like a wuss because I did not correct either of them. The granddaughter is only doing what she is hearing, and being a step-grandmom....I thought better of correcting the both of them (the mom is just 7 years younger than me...44...don't think she would have taken it too kindly).  Any suggestions ladies?  I feel like I should say something but haven't. Just had hoped that leading by example would do something, but it hasn't...

    Thanks and God Bless!

I would just say something witty like "God doesn't damn anyone...the devil does." And be sure to use some expletive that's innocuous like "Oh, fudge!"  Or "Darn, it". I have to admit, I was having a bad day this morning and to add to it, ALL the tupperware containers and covers came tumbing down on me when I opened the cabinet. I let out an "Aw, sh*t!" in my daughter's presence. She said that was the first time she heard me say that (and she just turned 18). We're not immune to expressing shock and discontent, and doing it in a single phrase.

St. Peregrine, we beseech you to intercede on behalf of the women of bc. org, and all cancer patients. We pray for a cure. Amen.

You know.. I always say..."What does God have to do with  it..".. then I wink at the person... and smile...

So far.. no one has gotten mad at me. :)

You won't catch me saying Gods name in vain.. EVER... but I do use "words" upon occasion. Never AT anyone... or even in a mad/bad way... just words. I think HUMANS made words bad.

Lord, I pray for all our breast Cancer sisters.

St. Peregrine, I thank you dearly for your intercessory prayer in our behalf.

    All my love,

    Laura

Thanks for your suggestions, ladies...they are VERY helpful!

Just got back from a wonderful adoration with the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal..."Catholic Underground".  Sang a great song about surrendering it all to the Lord, and that is what I am doing with my worries tonight!

    God Bless!

A beautiful, glorious Sunday here in NY. I'm going apple picking and will wonder at the hand of God in nature. The orchard we go to is up the side of a mountain, and the view out across the valley is tremendous.

    Angel 10,

I'm in a similar situation.  I'm the step mom and when the steps come to visit, I cringe every time I hear them use the Lord's name.  What I try to do is to turn it into a prayer.  When they say OMG, I add (in my head) have mercy on the souls in purgatory.  or bless us O Lord.

There are times and people who I will try to correct, but there are times when prayers are better suited.  If we pray for them, God will do great things.  It will be in His time though, not ours Innocent

Just a note ladies.  This is my first time on this thread, so forgive me if I'm out of line.  I was blessed with a wonderful gift.  Just before my diagnosis a friend told me about an out of print book called "My Other Self" by Clarence Enzler.  I was blessed enough to be able to purchase a copy on line.  But later found that my church had a copy in the library.  If you can get your hands on a copy, I highly recommend it!  It is like reading a love letter from Jesus.  It has just made me so aware of His love.  I took it with me the day of my biopsy and read it while waiting.  I cannot express adequately the sense of peace and the feeling of being surrounded by love.  Yeah this BC is a pain in the neck and very inconvenient, but that is all that it is to me.  God is with me and there is nothing greater than His love.

May God bless you all and give you the grace that you need today and every day...

Bless... why would that book recommendation be out of line? THANK YOU FOR THAT! I am going to see if I can find it on Ebay,. I look forward to reading it.

WELCOME to our Little Catholic thread... We are glad to have you! Please join us in prayer and freindship..

Nancy.. WOW.... I LOVE LOVE LOVE apple picking.. blueberry picking.. any of it, I sure hope your day and the weather was a huge feeling of love and happiness for you...

I would like to ask for prayer. This humbles me. I am a business woman. I was/am good at it. BUT.. I had to take off 9 months with this cancer stuff.... and with the economy... BLECK... my business needs help. Could you ask our Father to come to my aid in this.

Bless, thanks for the recommendation! I too will try that prayer with my stepkids and get a copy of that book! Glad you joined us on this thread!

(((Laura))))....you have your prayer intentions included in my prayers this evening....please be patient with your business and with yourself.  You are such a blessing to all of us here, and God will certainly take good care of all your needs.  Ask for what you need and be patient....

I am beginning to feel some of the "financial creep" myself. I lost my job 2 months before my dx, and had so many complications I could not get back to work. I am just now beginning my search yet I can't really see myself working as hard as I was before, so now I find that I am forcing myself to live one day at a time....not to worry about tomorrow, but to deal just with today.  I am cognizant that I may be asked to live a much more "streamlined" life....that is code for poorer!  It makes me anxious to think about it, so then I go back to trying not to worry!

I suppose a bit of worry would be considered a "healthy" thing, but in my humble estimation, we are asked to pray constantly and depend upon God for all things...so that is what I am doing for now.  Tonight I will add your intentions to mine Laura, and for all the others who find that their health has put them in a similiar situation.  May we find all we need in the arms of our Father.

    God Bless!
