Hi all, Sorry ...I have posted a few things in the Nola sept group thred.  Well, I DID it.  I have adopted twins from my abdomen(last tuesday sept 22) and they are FABULOUS!  I have no ducts and lobules But I am STILL a mammal!  It is absolutely the best decision /following of gut I have ever done.  but truly it was a long road and a lot of prayers and I had lumpectomy/rads last year after my initial diagnosis.  I cannot begin to recount the amount of divine intervention that has played out tin the last year.  I truly regret NOTHING because it lead me to where I am right now and that is absolutely GIDDY and gushing w/ my new self!  Had a huge falling out w/ a friend who was supposed to behelping once I was dc'ed but guess what....you wouldn't believe all the other doorsthat opened up.  I pray for peace w/ that 'friend', still a bit dumbfounded, but, over it.  I'm going home tomorrow.  new Orleans is such a very interesting city.  there is SOoooo much history and culture here.  And a HECK of a lot of Catholicism.  We'll get up have som more cafe du monde try for the trolley and a few more gifts then to the airport and back to DFW.  Anyhoo.  you all remain in my prayers.  My pathology came back today NEGATIVE!  But I am SO happy to be on the other side of this stage one.  stage 2 and final for me should be dec. and can't wait to come a bit early to NO and meet up w some other nola recon ladies coming for stage 2.  Contiuned prayers for all here.  Continue to ask for intercession of  St. Peregrine and St. Agatha.  Was hoping to make it to mass at old St Patrick but not dc'ed until monday.  St Louis Cathedral truly beautiful and So historic-oldest cathedral in US?  goodnight and godbless all...xoxojennifer

I know the angels escorted Heidi to God's face....may her family know the joy that lies in store for her just a little bit here on earth to soothe them during their time without her.

    God Bless,

    Amen

Day 7 for for all your intentions and for my friend Betty.

Ladies, today is the feast day for St. Therese of Liseux. Thought I would share some of her quotes for your reflection.  And it seems she had distractions in prayer, too!

Without love, deeds, even the most brilliant, count as nothing.

Be not afraid to tell Jesus that you love Him; even though it be without feeling, this is the way to oblige Him to help you, and carry you like a little child too feeble to walk.

A novice was grieving about her numerous distractions during prayer: "I too, have many," replied St. Therese of the Child Jesus, "but I accept all for love of the good God, even the most extravagent thoughts that come into my head."

For one pain endured with joy, we shall love the good God more forever.

Jesus needs neither books nor Doctors of Divinity in order to instruct souls; He, the Doctor of Doctors, He teaches without noise of words.

    God Bless,

    Angel

I had forgotten today was St Therese's feast day. She is one of my favorite saints. I will ask her to intercede for me today as I visit a new cardiologist to deal with my Herceptin caused heart failure. The last dr would not listen to me so I had bad side effects for a year(constant asthma symptoms) from one of the drugs I was taking to deal with side effects of Herceptin.  And the last dr wanted to put me on a similar drug and see me in 6 months. After two bad experiences I could not deal with "I'll call in a prescription and see you in 6 months." So please pray for me that this new dr listens and God guides his treatment choices.

Apple.....nice job with the mission statement.....have done a lot in the corporate world and I think it sounds terrific.

My heart aches for Heidi's family.....I am sick thinking about just how fast we lost her.

May we please Blessed Mary find a cure.....can we please direct these researchers in the right area so that every mother has the chance to raise their children as they had planned.  Mary I am sure you can understand how much this is desired and needed. Please help us. Amen.

Gosh, I am so sad to hear these ladies many of you have grown to love and support can no longer be w/ you here.  Both Mena and Heidi, despite the fact I don't know that much about their stories are in my prayers as are their families and dear friends(you all).  The last day in NO I saw a restaurant named Mena's and kept thinking about you all.  I feel so blessed to be the early detection posterchild.

I changed my avatar to a painting(thank you wikipedia) of St Agatha being annointed and having her breasts restored-rather than her being tortured by pinchers to her breasts as I had previously.  Actually I found both painings very beautiful but consider the current symbolic of now....It's how I feel.  I have not canonized my PS(but honestly, I did experience a miracle-my docs were absolutely phenomenal, such skill and compassion.  I genuinely believe god works thru others hands!  Hope to make it back to bible study next week.  Still sorting out/unpacking and trying to get organized w/ limitations.  I'm off until sometime in Nov.  Feel so awesome hard to believe I'm not even 2 weeks post op.

Good night all, love and many prayers, and thank you so much for sharing in my joy w/ me!

    Jennifer,

So wonderful to hear you are doing so well!  This is really god news we can all rejoice in!

I feel the same as you regarding Heidi and Mena, did not know or converse with them on their threads, yet we all feel this bond and community that can supercede physical ties.  I just feel so thankiful for my faith knowing that death can be frightening if  I did not hold my beliefs and my heart goes out to all who have to experience that road when BC puts you on it.

Again, great news on your post surgical situation! May you continue to enjoy the confidence and satisfaction that comes from working with great surgeons! God does work through them as well!

    God Bless!

    Ladies,

Today is the first Friday of the month.  It is a great day to say the attached prayer.  Hope your day is filled with the awareness of HIs blessings in your life.

    God Bless!

Act of Consecration to the Sacred heart of Jesus

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, I consecrate myself to Your Most Sacred Heart. Take possession of my whole being; transform me into Yourself. Make my hands Your hands, my feet Your feet, my heart Your heart. Let me see with Your eyes, listen with Your ears, speak with Your lips, love with Your heart, understand with Your mind, serve with Your will, and be dedicated with my whole being. Make me Your other self. Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, send me Your Holy Spirit to teach me to love You and to live through You, with You, in You and for You.

Come, Holy Spirit, make my body Your temple. Come, and abide with me forever. Give me the deepest love for the Sacred Heart of Jesus in order to serve Him with my whole heart, soul, mind and strength. Take possession of all my faculties of body and soul. Regulate all my passions: feelings and emotions. Take possession of my intellect, understanding and will; my memory and imagination. O Holy Spirit of Love, give me an abundance of Your efficacious graces. Give me the fullness of all the virtues; enrich my faith, strengthen my hope, increase my trust, and inflame my love. Give me the fullness of Your sevenfold gifts, fruits and beatitudes. Most Holy Trinity, make my soul Your sanctuary. Amen

Another day of prayer for our novena. Alas, though, it has changed from one for Heidi's recovery to focus on other things. Jacqueline, I like the idea of beseeching the Blessed Virgin, too.

St. Peregrine, please intercede on behalf of those suffering from cancer. Blessed Mother Mary, please ask Our Lord to guide the researchers' hands and minds to find the cures for breast cancer so that mothers are not taken from their children so young. Amen.

Things are settling down at home...maybe it's the calm before the storm, I don't know. But I'm looking forward to a quiet weekend.

Jennifer, I'm so glad to hear about your successful recon. I'm in the process of planning mine now in NYC. Dealing with the insurance company is not pleasant, but I hope to have that resolved next week. OK, I think I will have to add a codicil to my novena for that, lol.

Prayers of thanksgiving to God and all of the angels and saints who I asked to help me with my new cardiologist. He actually looked in the PDR to see if there is a beta blocker someone with asthma can take. The answer is no and beta blockers are important for treating heart failure. So now I continue to pray for healing. I know God is in charge. So many things have happened since I was diagnosed with bc that let me know that prayer works.

I had days when I said "Blessed Mother, ask your son to heal me because I'm so mad I'm not talking to Him." And yet He still heals my heart. Now more than ever I know it's true that God is crazy in love with us.

    Ladies,

Today is Oct. 3rd which is the day St. Francis of Assisi died, and we celebrate his feast day tomorrow on the 4th!  St. Francis was a great lover of animals as well, so if you have a pet, but no "Blessing of the Animals" liturgy being offered nearby, you might want to consider blessing your pet today with holy water, and offering up a prayer of thanksgiving for all of God's creations!

Here is a prayer of St. Francis' for your reflection:

May the Lord bless you and protect you,

May He show you His countenance and have mercy on you.

May He turn His face to you and give you peace.

    May the Lord bless you.

     St. Francis

    God Bless!

Angel, my church has a lovely blessing of the animals every year. Unfortunately, we don't have any pets :-(. My daughter is very allergic to cats and only a little less so to dogs. We did bring our beta fish one year, but he's long gone.

Sorry it took me  a while to get back to y'all. Had a good appt with new cardiologist. He went to his PDR (and the other guy couldn't think of that) and all beta blockers are now not advised for people with asthma. So while that is an important class of drugs for heart failure, I am too sensitive to them to take one I'm doing just fine without one. God always listens..
