Happy Mother's Day everyone! Thank you so much for the prayers. I had a pity party and a bad day yesterday. Today will be better. Paula, very glad to see you back. I'm sure today is a hard day for you. You're in my thoughts. I will be thinking of and praying for everyone today.
Beautiful prayers, Gina, Janet and Sandy.

Happy Mother's Day to all! I'm glad we extended novena to today. Each year around Mother's Day my roses start to bloom - also a sign from St. Theresa! Thank you St. Theresa for hearing our prayers and interceding for all of our intentions.

For Mothers Day, I wanted to go with my family to see a movie that is called "There be Dragons" it is about St Jose Maria Escriva, the founder of Opus Dei, it is about what went on during the Spanish Civil War, the persecution of Catholics, it is a British production, I recommend it , he is one of the Saints I am praying to.
It is a wonderful film that made us very proud of being practicing Catholics, that Our Mother and Jesus blesses all of you.

Happy mothers day to all and sending love to all my bc sisters, mothers or not. This was on the back of the prayer card we were given in church today.
A prayer for Mothers
All-loving God
We give you thanks and praise for mothers young and old.
We pray for young mothers, who give life and count toes and tend to our every need;
May they be blessed with patience and tenderness
to care for their families and themselves with great joy.
We pray for our own mothers who have nurtured us and cared for us;
May they continue to guide in strong and gentle ways.
We remember mothers who are separated from their children because of war, poverty or conflict
May they feel the loving embrace of our God who wipes every tear away.
We pray for women who are not mothers, but still love and shape us
With motherly care and compassion.
We remember mothers, grandmothers, and great-grandmothers who are no longer with us
But who live forever in our memory and nourish us with their love.
Amen

Kay, Laura and Twins - may St. Therese whisper your special intentions to our Lord and He come to your aid.
My son was a handful in this tweens, teens and early twenties. He is a responsible young man today, married to a young woman who helped him to see that life is worth living. I pray your son will find his meaning too and wake up to what is real. Pray to St. Monica - mother of St. Augustine.
Gina, Janet and Ellie - thank you for sharing those lovely prayers!!
Happy Mothers Day everyone, mother or motherly! :-)
Dreaming - thanks for the movie review - I had no idea. I think we'll try to go see it.
Paula - I completely understand. I was very close to my Mom and had to go on a mild antidepressant for awhile to help me get over the hump. Being a mother will help you to heal. Hope in tomorrow because it will get easier.
I pray everyone has a restful and peaceful night.

I hope all my Sweet Sisters have had a most blessed day! I pray each of you have taken a moment of solitude to consider the absolute joy being a mother brings to your life and have comtemplated the love our own Mothers feel or felt for us, their daughters, and to consider how Mother Mary may have felt when given the responsibility of mothering the Christ child. I am always in awe of the Blessed Mother, my own Mother, and Mothers everywhere. There is no greater joy nor challenge than that of being a Mother!
Happy Mother's Day to All,
Sandy

Maria,
I am so very sorry you did not get good news of either front today. You are in my prayers tonight and in my thoughts.
I most humbly ask you gracious Lord to surround my sister, Maria, with angels and to comfort her in this time of trouble. I ask you to restore her daughter and brother to complete health. Gracious Lord, please grant Maria and all her family everything they need to recover so they may grow to better serve you. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Wow Maria - when it rains it pours. Heart surgery is scary but take comfort that what they can do these days is miraculous. And hope your daughter has improved.
Thank you Betty for taking intentions. I'm in Northern Va, but I think Va. Beach is about the same - maybe warmer. Has been beautiful this week and to continue until Friday - but think it's supposed to rain over the weekend. Not sure if it will be the same at the beach. Just go to weather.com and put in virginia beach - it will pull up the forecast for you. Have a good trip - rain or shine!
Yes Sheila - where is Traci these days? Hope she's just having a good time wherever she is.
Prayers going up for each & every one.

So sorry to hear that Maria. Prayers for your brother. It is scary, but they do that for people in their 80's and beyond and they recover very well. My husband's grandfather had a triple bypass at 86 and was up the next day walking the halls of the hospital and smiling and laughing. Prayers for a successful surgery and quick recovery for your brother. And prayers for your daughter too. Make sure you take care of yourself as well. Namaste.

Please sisters in Christ, pray for rain for us. There is thunder rumbling right now but we desperately need the rain, 80+ days without a drop....

Maria - I'm praying for your family and yes, take care of yourself!! It's so easy to get run down during times of stress.
Gina - I'll ask Skip for a farmer's prayer for rain and post it. He has an old farmer's prayer book (we're not farmers, just wanna be farmers!) that has some really nice prayers.
Sheila - haven't heard from Traci. I'll try to give her a ring.
Betty - thank you for taking our prayers!!!

Gina - our prayer for the Texas Drought from Skip's prayer book.
Almighty God, we are in need of rain. We realize now, looking up into the clear, blue sky, what a marvel even the least drop of rain really is. To think that so much water can fall out of the sky, which now is empty and clear! We place our trust in you. We are sure that you know our needs, but you want us to ask anyway to show you that we are dependent on you. Look on our dry hills and fields, dear God, and give them with the living blessing of soft rain. Then the land will rejoice, and the rivers will sing your praises, and the hearts of your children will be made glad. Amen.

Our Lady of Fatima
The story of Fatima begins with three humble shepherd children. Lucia, Francisco, and Jacinta lived quiet lives. They tended their sheep and enjoyed playing games together. They were ordinary children, who took part in an extraordinary event.
In 1917, in a series of apparitions, Our Blessed Mother appeared to the three shepherd children. On October 13, 1917, about 70,000 people gathered in the pouring rain because Our Blessed Mother promised the children a miracle would take place as a sign of her messages to them. During the apparition, the rain stopped and the clouds parted. The spectators could view the sun without discomfort. They saw the sun whirl and dance. Prior to the Miracle of the Sun, the spectators were drenched with rain. After the sun became still, they were completely dry.
During each of the apparitions, Our Lady told the children of the importance of prayer and penance, especially during troubled times. Her message has often been interpreted in light of the devastating world wars which broke out soon after her appearance. Today, considering the recent attacks against the United States, and the retaliatory strike, Our Lady's words seem especially apt once again.
Pope John Paul II was devoted to Our Lady of Fátima and attributed his survival of an assassin's bullet on 13 May 1981 to her intervention. Jacinta and Francisco Marto, who died in the great Spanish Flu pandemic of 1919-20, were beatified on 13 May 2000.
**********************************************
There is the standard novena prayers that we will recite everyday and I will post on the Catholic prayers thread, but I have a Word document with meditations for each day. Is there an early bird who would like to post the daily meditations? I'm working everyday and can't post early. If you PM me your email address, I can send it to you.
We can start Friday - the feast day of Our Lady of Fatima. This feast commemorates the visions of Our Lady seen near Fátima in Portugal in 1917 by three shepherd children, Lúcia dos Santos and her cousins Jacinta and Francisco Marto. The visions occurred on the 13th day of each month from May to October.

Dear Ladies, I drop off your intentions today and lit a candle for all of us.
I will not be on of a week and will not be saying this novena because of vacation but will be praying every night for you. Hugs
0 -
Betty again thank you, have a great vacation. And Thank you for the candle. When you get back could you give a description of the shrine.
Anne---that is so great about your son. In these times, it is so hard. Our little niche in the world is slated to loose 8000 jobs from the space center in the next two months. Government stupidity. The well educated people on all levels of the space program will now leave this area. All the companies that provided other services to the space center will falter. It will be like a ghost county. The ramifications will be felt by much of Florida , and certainly several counties around us. .......................... Anne were you the one that said you had a twin?
Theresa, wish I could volunteer, but I'd be worried how to to it. What if you just posted all of the at once on the prayer page with the date for each one. Does that help any. If not, let me know. I'm a 2 finger typer, that has to look at the keyboard to type . even then I don't hit the right keys.
Namaste sheila
