Betty, if the doc's feel that it is a physical problem they would have said so by now. If it is something that you don't want to share at this point understood.

Good evening sisters,
Gina, yes, please share pictures if you can.
Tori, yes, the beatification of John Paul II! Pretty amazing, eh? On Divine Mercy Sunday... no coincidence there. God is Mercy. Mary is the Mother of Mercy. Jesus I trust in you.
Sheila - what does newbies to follow mean? It noticed the post in all three Catholic threads.
We are not at home this weekend, at Colonial Beach, and I've been doing a lot of walking and spring cleaning. My legs just give me the fits!!! That's one of the things that bug me the most b/c it's so persistent ... my legs wear out so fast and I get bone tired. It's very discouraging, but I will offer up the aches and pains to the Lord to do with as He wills.
Today is also the Feast day of St. Joseph the Worker.
Whatever you do, work at it with your whole being. Do it for the Lord rather than for men, since you know full well you will receive an inheritance from him as your reward. Be slaves of Christ the Lord. - Colossians 3:23-24
God our Father, creator and ruler of the universe, in every age you call man to develop and use his gifts for the good of others. With St. Joseph as our example and guide, help us to do the work you have asked and come to the rewards you have promised. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.
Amen.

Sheila, Thank you so much for you support, I am sorry I didn't get back sooner I had to work a double on Saturday and back again today. Ava is not loosing weight she just isn' gaining enough. She is one mo. now born March 27th. She has gained 8 or 9 oz but the doctors want more. DD is bottle feeding and has been back to the doctors many times now. They have changed her formula to soy and now to some other, I don't know the name its more broken down to help digesting. She dose elevate her crib and sits her most of the time. The colic cry is much better, and she is a happy baby and content not in distress at all. She is feeding her every 2 hr to 3 hrs so she gets all feeding in. The baby makes a sucking sound like she is gasping for air more after feedings. DD is very stressed about this. The doctor say she will just out grow it in the next ed 6 mo. This is her second child.
Thank you so much for all you concern and all your prayers. I know they are helping. LOVE ALL

Betty, Please try the calls to the lactatation specialists. They spend their days thinking and learning about how babies eat. That's their whole concentration professionally, Whose brain to pick better then them.
Lets look at the positive---------her weight is stable and she has gained a small amount , not a loss -------2.the colic cry is much better-------that is very omportant since they can't communicate in any other way-----So, yes something was distressing her, now she is less distressed. Otherwise, her cry would not have changed 3.In a sitting position----When she cries try to have the bright ambient light behind her and look in her mouth---look at her palate---- is it sucked up high when she cries? Use a flash light if needed.
At this point things are going in a better than worse diection. Air sucking I'll see what I can find. The one quick thing about that is she could be swallowing allot of air and that will lead ro stomach gas, But you say she is content and not in distress at all. We all have seen a baby in distress, So, This is a positive. A baby in distress will not stop crying until exhausted. This is not what you are describing. The improvement with formula change sounds very positive
Babies are scary to all of us because satisfying them is all we want to do. While you still have concerns you are going in the right direction.
Is mom getting enough sleep? If she's exhausted, things will fall apart. Put her to bed for 8--9 hours of sleep for the next few days. It' s a must. How ever you get it accomplished. Namaste
EDIT11:20 pm------only other suggestion I could find was nipple size--try her on premie size, size1, then size 2. observing response with each one. The theory here was with each baby needing differen tsize . The nipple could be causing them to work too hard or too big it could be dileverying too much.. The quick read supports everything else. If this doesn't work. When You take the baby in feed her in front of the doctor. Keep doing all the other things --like keeping her up right for feeding and almost sitting post feeding.---------Talk with you soon

Prayers for all (as someone said spoken and unspoken) intentions.
Was anyone else disturbed by the photos of the young Americans waving flags and celebrating the death of Bin Ladin? I am happy he has been dealt with. But I think those pictures are going to be used to feed prejudices in other countries to recruit more terroritsts. And while I am glad he has been dealt with, it still doesn't seem like something that should be celebrated like that, altough I understand the feeling behind it. It has been a long time coming.
Just got back from my last AC treatment!!! Yes!!! The onc says taxol will be much easier for me. No more nuelasta, no more steroids, no more emend. It's been tough, extreme fatigue, constipation, diarrhea, rash, mouth sores, dry mouth, sore bones, head aches, vision problems. Not sad to see the end of that at all. And even better, she says the tumor has shrunk a lot and she is very pleased with the progress!!! Double Yes!!!
Thanks everyone for all the prayers you've been saying. Can't wait to get this cancer cut out of me.
Namaste everyone.

Kay - God bless you! Wonderful news!
Yes, I felt a bit uncomfortable with the "celebration" of Bin Ladin's death. Yes, indeed, I'm glad his reign is over!! But I too think that the over celebration of it could lead to retaliation from his followers. I can certainly understand, though, especially those closely affected by the horrific crimes he authorized. God bless our soldiers! All the men and women who put their lives on the line for us!
Well, I am going to try a half dose of Lexapro again to see if it helps the aches in my legs and feet. Had blood work done today and my abdominal ultrasound, so I pray they don't find anything unnatural in there! Well, besides the gallstones! I hope my vitamin D went up. And I hope my Celiac test is negative. Another spin on the Wheel of Cancer game.
Betty - hoping and praying for all things good with baby granddaughter. My children and my grandchildren had troubles with formula until we found the right one. My youngest grandson still can't drink milk.
God bless you all!

Day 5
Miraculous Invocation to Saint Therese
O Glorious St. Therese, whom Almighty God has raised up to aid and inspire the human family, I implore your Miraculous Intercession. You are so powerful in obtaining every need of body and spirit from the Heart of God. Holy Mother Church proclaims you 'Prodigy of Miracles... the Greatest Saint of Modern Times.' Now I fervently beseech you to answer our petitions
[List intentions/petitions]
and to carry out your promises of spending Heaven doing good on earth...of letting fall from Heaven a Shower of Roses. Little Flower, give me your childlike faith, to see the Face of God in the people and experiences of my life, and to love God with full confidence. St. Therese, my Carmelite Sister, I will fulfill your plea 'to be made known everywhere' and I will continue to lead others to Jesus through you. Amen.
Novena Rose Prayer
O Little Therese of the Child Jesus, please pick for me a rose from the heavenly gardens and send it to me as a message of love.
O Little Flower of Jesus, ask God today to grant the favors I now place with confidence in your hands... (petitions)
St. Therese, help me to always believe as you did, in God's great love for me, so that I might imitate your "Little Way" each day.
Amen

Kay,
Yes, and no on the celebrations last night. I did not go nor was I inclined to do so, and yes, it does bring concerns of retaliation. And then, there are those that are always looking for an excuse, but I feel they will TRY to do this no matter what. I do give complete free reign for anyone directly affected to interpret what feels like the right way to honor their lost loved ones.
Even know there are dissenters on how he was "buried," which was A LOT more than has ever been done for Americans who have been kidnapped and worse. I have to say, I just cannot say what I would do if I had lost a loved one, and as it was, I was so traumatized when the World Trade Centers/Pentagon was attacked and we lost the flight and I heard our hero's stories.
Very proud of those Navy Seals..
sorry about the long long reply
and Kay...so happy about your great news. You Go Brave Lady!!
had a yucko day at work in the afternoon. so I am quietly chilling.
thinking of you all, Traci
Theresa, oh how the legs hurt and ache in the bones through and through. Then there are the thousands of bees that sting my feet everyday. Sorry you and so many have these symptoms!

Excellent news Kay! So happy for you. Betty, How is our baby Ava today? You do know we adopted her, don't you? Apple--thinking of you! Prayers to ALL my sisters !
Hail holy Queen, mother of mercy, hail our Light, our sweetness and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve, to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this, our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet virgin Mary, pray for us O Holy Mother of God that we made be worthy of the promises of Christ.

Today is the feast day of Sts Philip and James, Apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Reading this morning was a writing from Tertullian. Tertullian, I have learned, was a priest. "A pagan until middle life, he had shared the pagan prejudices against Christianity, and had indulged like others in shameful pleasures. His conversion was not later than the year 197, and may have been earlier. He embraced the Faith with all the ardour of his impetuous nature. He became a priest, no doubt of the Church of Carthage." So he is an early church father and gives us an awesome reading about our awesome Catholic Church. Yes, our genealogy traces right straight back to the Apostles and Jesus! And what jumped out at me in his reading was "One of them fell from his place." Even Christ had an apostle who fell from grace... Judas... so why are we surprised that every once in awhile a bad egg takes holy orders and becomes a priest, bishop or pope? They're human and have human failings. But Jesus promised to protect His Bride, the Church, and when I read these early writings and can relate those writings to what I hear in homilies, and Catholic books and other media today, I feel blessed indeed!
I hope you enjoy the reading.
Reading From the treatise On the Prescription of Heretics by Tertullian, priest
The preaching of the ApostlesOur Lord Jesus Christ himself declared what he was, what he had been, how he was carrying out his Father's will, what obligations he demanded of men. This he did during his earthly life, either publicly to the crowds or privately to his disciples. Twelve of these he picked out to be his special companions, appointed to teach the nations.
One of them fell from his place. The remaining eleven were commanded by Christ, as he was leaving the earth to return to the Father after his resurrection, to go and teach the nations and to baptise them into the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
The apostles cast lots and added Matthias to their number, in place of Judas, as the twelfth apostle. The authority for this action is to be found in a prophetic psalm of David. After receiving the power of the Holy Spirit which had been promised to them, so that they could work miracles and proclaim the truth, they first bore witness to their faith in Jesus Christ and established churches throughout Judea. They then went out into the whole world and proclaimed to the nations the same doctrinal faith.
They set up churches in every city. Other churches received from them a living transplant of faith and the seed of doctrine, and through this daily process of transplanting they became churches. They therefore qualify as apostolic churches by being the offspring of churches that are apostolic.
Every family has to be traced back to its origins. That is why we can say that all these great churches constitute that one original Church of the apostles; for it is from them that they all come. They are all primitive, all apostolic, because they are all one. They bear witness to this unity by the peace in which they all live, the brotherhood which is their name, the fellowship to which they are pledged. The principle on which these associations are based is common tradition by which they share the same sacramental bond.
The only way in which we can prove what the apostles taught - that is to say, what Christ revealed to them - is through those same churches. They were founded by the apostles themselves, who first preached to them by what is called the living voice and later by means of letters.
The Lord had said clearly in former times: I have many more things to tell you, but you cannot endure them now. But he went on to say: When the Spirit of truth comes, he will lead you into the whole truth. Thus Christ shows us that the apostles had full knowledge of the truth, for he had promised that they would receive the whole truth through the Spirit of truth. His promise was certainly fulfilled, since the Acts of the Apostles prove that the Holy Spirit came down on them.

Oh! BTW! The ultrasound showed NO gallstones! What happened to my gallstones? They were seen in my past ultrasounds over the last 10 years. How do gallstones just disappear? I wonder if chemo blasted them out. So I was happy to hear that. The only negative in my ultrasound was that I need to lose weight... easier said than done, but I will keep trying.
Traci - I know the pins and needles! I'll let you know if the Lexapro helps.

Yes... Chemo can blast gall stones.... it ate away all my plaque on my teeth. ( gross I know... but I was due for my cleaning a month into chemo... and could not do it then)... so....I went after chemo... dentist said.... NO CLEANING NEEDED...... chemo did it for me. ( SCARY STUFF)
Kay........ YAY! Taxol is WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY easier than the " Red Devil"
Love all!

Hi ladies Wanted to drop in and let everyone know who was praying for my mom, that her surgery went well, although not quite like we would have liked. They removed one large tumor on the left side of her uterus. However, it is much more extensive than they thought. They left two large tumors in her abdomen. Both completely attached to the colon and to remove them would have left her with a colostomy, which the surgeon who is an oncologist/gynecologist said would not extend her life expectency at this point. So, she's stage four, with active cancer, after six rounds of taxol/carboplatin. He doesn't agree that it's ovarian, he thinks it's uterine. So, the tests will tell us. So, back we go to her original oncologist to see what he wants to do next.
I know this is not breast cancer, but I appreciate your prayers nonetheless, because having had breast cancer myself, I know that you all know what she's going through.
Thanks again for your prayers, they have truly helped. I'm in a better place, by the Grace of God, and the power of prayers
God Bless all of you,
Gracie

Good Morning Sweet Sisters,
Finally, we have sunshine in Nashville! It rained for days and days but the glorious sun is finally shining! We are still worried about potential flooding but we remain in good shape with the exception of a leak in the roof or around a window casing minor damage. Nothing at all to worry about when compared to others!
Camille has moved to DC Janet and in now at her new job. She is settling in nicely and hopes she will really enjoy this work! Thank you for asking about her. Now, all 4 of them are located from NYC to Richmond so none are too far away from the others!
Hugs to All, Sandy

Sometimes life feels so heavy, like nothing but weight keeps ending up on your shoulders. Always seems like when one thing happens then other things unravel too....Leaving it all in the Lord's hands, today, and tomorrow, with His love and grace, I need nothing else.
