    Gina

Thanks. He was feeling so much better after practice today. I know all of the prayers helped him!

I am happy to hear that your pain has lessened somewhat today. It always takes my breathe away when the scripture really speaks to us. I know our Lord hears your prayers and will be there for you always.

Lovemyfamilysomuch and Kay Thanks I know you are right. We heard at practice tonight that the Bishop will meet with the children before mass and just have a chat and not to worry about the questions he will help guide them. This really made my son at ease. I think it was just the idea of talking in front of everyone. He does not know the other children for he goes to a private catholic school and we make our confirmation with our parish. There was actually two students that he knew so that helped a little. Just nerves I guess.

    Blessings to all

I think, for them to be nervous , is a good thing. Neither of my sons were nervous.... One son wanted to just get on with it....... and the other was confirmed in the New Mass .. ( where most of us are today) and would have chosen to do so in the St. Pius Society.... where he went to school.... but the Church was no on board with yet....

    Liz.... bless your son!

This afternoon, our Bishop is coming to a local church to say a mass for people living with cancer. I'll be attending along with my Mum and my daughter. I'll say a prayer for all of you and your intentions.

I just progressed from IIIc to IV with liver mets. My friend's mother is asking all who are interested to pray for intercession from Pope John Paul II for a miracle. He needs one more to be considered for sainthood. Thanks for listening.

Thank you Michelle. Please remember my mom this afternoon. Penny, welcome! I love your quote at the bottom of your posting. My mom is stage iv with liver mets. I will add you to my prayers. Interesting that your friend mentioned pope John Paul II. I prayed to him when my mom was first dxed stage iv. I will resume my prayers to him for his intercession for you and all here. Blessings. Penny

I am so sorry to hear of your liver mets. I will be happy to add you to my prayer list.

All just a short note of thanks for the prayers for my son's confirmation. The ceremony was this morning and it was lovely. He didn't get called on for a question much to his relief and the bishop was wonderful and gave an absolutely terrific homily. He spoke to the kids about God's love for them always even if they may slip up from time to time. He told them they will be forever different after receiving confirmation and the Holy Spirit will be with them always. It was such a beautiful service and one in which the children could really relate. He made them feel special and needed to carry on the Catholic faith. He really reached them. You could feel the excitement. I haven't seen my son this connected to church before. So full credit to the Holy Spirit but a very special thank you to a wonderful Bishop who connected all the dots for these young people.

Penny, so sorry to hear of your liver mets. I prayed for you at mass this afternoon.

Liz, so glad your son's confirmation went well.

The Mass for people with cancer this afternoon was so moving. The Bishop was so wonderful. He's a very charismatic man. I've seen him once before at a confirmation and few years ago and was impressed by his ability to connect with people. He did it again today...his homily made me cry! It was about "life changing words" and how short phrases like "I love you", "Will you marry me", "It's a boy/girl" "It's cancer" change your life forever. He spoke about a cancer patient's journey as like being in a boat all alone. You may be surrounded by family and friends but you are all alone, except of course God is with you always. I'm so glad I went to the Mass. It gave me renewed hope as I go to my last chemo tx this week.

    God bless everyone!

Michello -congratulations on last treatment---------also congratulations on having such a Pastor.

Faulk- Liz In the old days a Bishop might have hurt the children. That may have been your memory of it. In the USA they can't afford to hurt. They must do whatever they can to draw the young ones to the Church. The Church also must not create over-scrupulousness, as we had in all times prior. There must be normalcy. I'm not talking "Cafeteria Catholic". WE need to avoid the Catholic that has only one way. I have been active on Catholicmatch.com. There are some very sick men/women on that site. They are so far to the extreme. I worry about what it is they are struggling with.  ------------------------------

-so happy your son had a good experience.YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bless him

Bless mom who worried so much. Now sit down and have a talk. You have found out that the Bishop would have never have embarrassed a child. It would have been kind of the group leader to advised you of so. You need to tell your son, your worries, were they based upon new or old experiences. He needs to know why you drove him so hard to the point he wanted to quit. To want to quit he was stressed to a point ---------that he said I doin't care. That was the exact opposite to what you were trying to do. Been their done that, understand. This is a pivotal point in your relationship forever. If you can admit, you pushed too much and he can see that you did it out of care, you will have a bonding point. He will see you as human and throw in there that MOM's always want the best for their kids. AND admit that part of you was scared for him b/c if the Bishop asked him a question, you didn't want him to be embarrassed. You were being a protective Mama bear. Let nothing hurt your cub. This talk is important b/c the Confirmation went so smoothly, The Bishop made it sound like no big deal. Your son in the back of his mind says why did my MOM make me crazy. Again remember he wanted to quit. When we quit something . It is a choice, shall I continue with something that is hurting me.----He said I want to quit. SO, that is why the sit down. He has actually learned something at a young age. It's a life lesson. He spoke up and said this is hurting me I don't want to do it. He continued b/c of your need.

LIz you did what a normal MOM would do. He responded as a normal teenager. What you both get to do is grow from this. LMFSM may be able to give you more insight into this b/c she had multiple children. I had one. Dad took care of it b/c I was angry at the church at the time , so, Dad took care of everything. I showed up on confirmation day only b/c of love for my son.

Also, explain for the rest of his life Mama bear is going to seek the best for him. It may not always be perceived as right and there may be more talks. BUT that love is always behind it.

    Namaste sheila

Hi Kay, how are you? All continuing well after surgery? No word on surgery yet. Day to day. It's being hagled by the insurance now. Schatzi woke me up per usual so early. Thinking about a nap. It's in the 70's here-----socks, long pants, and sweatshirt. In Philly, it'd be shorts and tees LOL. L&H&P's sheila

You have that right! Both my sons survive our winter with just a warm hoodie and it gets pretty cold here. It's actually pretty nice today, getting up to 60. I am healed from surgery, just finished rads on Friday. Now I have lymph edema though. I got really swollen really quickly, trying to get it under control. Hopefully now that rads are done, it will calm down.

Praying for you and your surgery. It's a crime that insurance would give you any issues. Hope it's not getting to you. Namaste.

Hi Jesus, it's me again, coming to You for Your wisdom, for Your love and for Your grace.  I need a reminder sometimes that through You I have all I need and I am all that I can be.  Tonight, rock me in Your arms, cover me with Your blanket of warmth, and let me hear the sweet lullabies of my youth. If I wake in the morning, Your will be done, I will sing the praises of Your holy name by my words and my deeds in the day.  Walk with me, Jesus, tomorrow. Lead me in Your ways, always.

Good night all my friends, may Jesus walk with you today and always.
