Penny, I wrote this when I was having trigemenial nueralgia a couple of weeks ago....when I read it tonight I thought about you....
Monday, November 7, 2011 8:56 PM, CST
The pain never subsided today. I am only human, and in tears I find myself telling myself, it's just not that bad, there is so much more that could be wrong. I am exhausted, I am tired, pain is so draining on my body and mind. I turned to my pink Bible tonight hoping for answers, knowing they are in there. I decided to ask for a "sign", you know that silly thing we do....so I grabbed my pink Bible and flipped it open out of pain, maybe anger....It opens to Jeremiah 15:18 - and I am not kidding you here....it really did. Top of the page, unmistakably - "Why is my pain perpetual and my wound incurable, which refuses to be healed?"
And my answer lay just below in Jeremiah 15:20 "For I am with you to save you and deliver you, says the Lord."
Deliver me Lord from this evil, show me the way of Your truth and salvation. Lead me to healing waters, Your daughter, so broken, so tattered by pain. Mold me into Your obedient servant to do Your will, You are the potter Lord, me merely clay.

Thanks, Gina. I also find comfort in Jeremah, particularly 29:11 - "For I know well the plans I have in mind for you—oracle of the LORD—plans for your welfare and not for woe, so as to give you a future of hope."

Hi all, just popping in ,I want to welcome all the new folks here, we got a real caring group here.
Before I head out to California tomorrow, I want to wish everyone here a Happy Thanksgiving!!!
Please know that you are all on my daily prayers to regain our health! I am now getting 2x a week LE treatments and the therapist thinks that I most likely have neuropathy by the SNB and around the scar tissue. I have to start thinking whether to do a scar revision or not, I really don't want to be put under again.
Namaste to everyone.

hello Sisters
I am the bearer of bad news. May I ask for your prayers please? Maria, the niece of a colleague in the office, was dx with cancer some time back. Knowing my dx my colleague used to come and talk to me about her progress. She was getting good results from several scans in a row. Recently something went wrong and she went down hill very rapidly. Her funeral mass will be at noon (our time) on Friday.
She leaves behind 2 young children. Her mother lost her own husband (Maria's dad) a few years ago to cancer. It is sad enough to bury your parents or spouse but to bury a child must be like being crucified every day for the rest of your life. So may I ask for prayers for the happy repose of the soul of Maria? Would you also pray please that Maria's mother, husband and 2 young daughters will feel God's gentle and caring caress to comfort them in this time of loss?
I don't know how you all feel but when I hear of someone losing out to cancer it always knocks me back. But lets keep on going and saying prayers.
take care.
Frank

Prayers for the family Frank. It is sad and incomprehensible to me. Please keep my twin sister's family in your prayers as well. Her husband died July 30 from cancer leaving his parents, my sister and their two children, 15 and 17. This will be their first holiday without him.

Frank, my daughters roommate last term lost her 15 year old sister in Feb. I have to relay the way this happened to tell you all what a gift came from such tragedy. My daughter came in to the dorm room in the afternoon and the roommate told her she just had a dream that was so real she had to go to the window to see if she was still sleeping. She said Jesus came to her with her little sister after a car wreck. My daughter said she was trembling. The roommates phone rang and said it was her mom. My daughter left the room to go the bathroom down the hall, comes back within minutes, the roommate is on the floor sobbing....her mother had just called her to tell her that her little sister had died that afternoon in a car accident while on a school trip.
I told my daughter that God placed her there to witness for the roommate the power that is unexplainable to us, that what we doubt as humans, then He reminds us that He cares for us, even in great time of trouble and death.
The roommate is a remarkable young women and so is her family. Her mother has been asked to speak at churches to tell the story of how all this happened and her message of hope. I listened to this on the interent, and I will find the link and post here for anyone that wants to hear...she is amazing. I didn't know until I listened that another young girl was severely injured and she herself woke up in the hospital telling of how her friend was walking away from the wreck with a man, and when they got to the gate she asked to go with them, and the friend (the roommates sister) turned to her and said I pinky promise you, you are going to be ok.
Prayers for Maria and her family and for Kay and her family as well. I pray for the love of the Lord to touch them with His healing hand.

Here's the link. Go to the September 11, 2011 sermon. She speaks around the 20 minute mark if you want to fast forward the audio file. It's about 15 minutes long.

Hello Sisters
To all of you on the other side of the big pond and below the 49th paralell Happy Thanksgiving. (If I'm not mistaken Canadians celebrate Thanksgiving on another day). Before you tuck in to your turkey say a prayer for the hungry of this world and then enjoy your special meal no doubt washed down with a glass or two of wine ! ! !
Kay Sorry to hear about your twin sister's loss. First holiday without the deceased is usually very hard. There is a custom in Ireland - though not adherred to so much nowadays - when someone suffered a breavement near(ish) Christmas of a close family member you didn't send that person Christmas cards.
Ladies thank you for your prayers and thoughts for Maria. She died last Saturday but is only being buried tomorrow Friday which is unusual in Ireland. Burial normally takes place on 3rd day so it suggests to me that some one is having to travel from quite faraway.
Once again enjoy your day ladies.

Happy Thanksgiving! I am thankful to God for sending His only Son in the flesh to suffer and die on the cross so that my sins are forgiven, my soul saved, my wounds, illnesses, temptations, and addictions cured, for raising Him from the dead so that we may enjoy eternal life with Him!

From today's "WORD Among Us" - Today is the last day of our church year. Tomorrow we celebrate the First Sunday of Advent. New beginnings always have a sense of excitement about them. It’s as if the whole slate were wiped clean, and you can start afresh. How much more exciting is the promise that if you remember the good things that God has done in the past, your new year can be even better! Daniel 3:87 - "Holy and humble of heart, bless the Lord; praise and exalt him above all forever."

Happy Thanksgiving and blessings to all! I've been MIA for awhile. Since I added the class and teaching CCD to my schedule, I've just been either relaxing or working on something. All is blessing. Skip and I are renting a condo close to my job so I can walk or Metro and his job is a short commute, compared to our 70-miles each way commute we were doing. I've noticed the difference in my stress level already. And I am determined to eat better and exercise since we're saving 3+hours/day. It's been difficult to keep the weight off.
It's going to take me awhile to catch up with all of the postings, but I've noticed new names on the thread. Penny from EHT? I used to live in Absecon. From time to time I still travel up to EHT for my job - I miss my friends up there and all the good food!! (Hmm, wasn't I just talking about eating better and losing weight?)
Teaching CCD has been a blast - 3rd grade. My daughter is a co-teacher, and we have a teenager helping us. The kids are so energetic. I hope they can evangelize their parents, who do not take them to church.
As we go into Advent, I pray that everyone is filled with God's blessings and take Jesus' message into each of your hearts!
Pax et bonum!
