Hi ...I have been so busy but I hope busy is good. Long summer with working jobs & all the kids, family, legal stuff. I do not know why I am on tonight I worked 10 hours today srove an hour to my parants worked for another 1 1/2 helping them pack & hauling boxes then another drive home (almost got hit by another deer) & was so exhausted. now it is after 1:30 am & can not sleep (SA's) vicious cycle.. i do this for a few weeks then crash for a day. It took me over an hour to catch up. So much happening everywhere...& being turned over to the lord's hands. Just want all to know my prayers include each of you & my thoughts are also.

To all -update on Nancy's dad- He's in the ICU. He has not awakened from anesthesia from surgery done yesterday, for hip fracture. Prognosis unknown at this time. CT scan done should be read by now. Prayers for her and family0

Have checked the saints calendar and haven't seen anyone that has particular interest to us for a novena, until the Archangels in late September. We haven't done a novena in awhile. Longer than usual. Perhaps with it being August best to wait till after labor day. But if anyone has a suggestion, please write it.

hello sisters
haven't been on for a while. You might remember that I said that the Herceptin had stopped working and that as the tumours had started to grow again my Onc has taken me off it . I'm going through a course of chemo at present. I'm half way through 12 sessions in a fortnightly cycle of chemo. Generally tolerating the the chemo OK with very few SEs. There are however a lot of steroids in the treatment which makes me hyper and not sleep over the weekend of the treatment (I get the IVs every 2nd Friday afternoon and wear a bottle of chemo over the weekend which is connected via a PICC line) so by about Tuesday (when that SE wears off) I'm really exhausted.
Had a CT Scan and got the results last Wednesday. The tumours had not increased in size which pleased my Onc but I was a bit disappointed as I had hoped for shrinkage. Also after this chemo is finished I won't be getting any more. According to my Onc if further probs with the tumours occur then the symptoms will be treated and not the cause which has disheartened me a bit and has made me feel a bit down. So may I ask that you say a prayer that this round of chemo is successful.

Hello everyone...I haven't been on in awhile. I came here when I was in a very dark place and I received so much comfort and many suggestions for how to turn to God, that I made this one of my favorite topics and I have read each and every post since then. You have all been in my daily prayers.
Frank...I am praying in earnest for you...that this treatment is successful and that you receive comfort.
I would like to participate in the novena starting next week. I haven't done a novena in many years. In fact, not since I went with my Mom to a Novena to Our Lady of Perpetual Help as a little girl, so I may need some direction on how you do it as a group.

Hi Rabbit, With the novena we post the daily prayers. If you will post your intentions on the board anytime sun or moday.or PM them to me. I then will combine them all in one post to make it easy to read and follow. I add intentions as we go by editing the "master " intention list. Don't worry about iot being years, many of us were the same. Thank you for your prayers.Pax

NOVENA NOTIFICATION
We will be starting a novena Tuesday Aug.14th . I have asked Frank to pick the novena. Please, keep him in your prayers daily as he is being chemo challenged at present. The herceptin has stopped working. We have many members that are having condition changes on the Catholic thread and throughout BCO right now. Please , join us on the 14th.
A Novena is prayers said daily for 9 days with stating the intention of your prayer. An intention can be for a person , group, or a thought. You don't need to be Catholic. Prayer is Prayer. If something in the prayer doesn't fit your belief system, substitute or omit that portion. We are an Ecumenical group which means inclusive of all.
Everyone on my Favorite member list gets this notification, as I have added those that have been involed in the past, UNLESS they are there for a different reason. Frankly, my memory is getting worse. So, if you have receive this and scratching your head as to why, please forgive me.
Send your intentions to me by Pm or post on Catholic thread on sunday (preferrably) or monday and I will combine them into a one list. It takes awhile to do the composite list, thats why I ask that intentions be sent on Sunday, Pax Sheila(sassy)

Frank, you are constantly in my prayers, and I'm glad you posted an update even if it's not the news you had hoped for. We are here with you in spirit and thinking of you.
Gladly join the Novena. Frank I think it's a great idea by Sheila that you pick the Novena saint. Plenty of Irish saints to choose from if you go that route

Definitely time to start another Novena-
Frank if you don't have a favorite Novena may I suggest a Novena to St. Jude (novena for difficult cases, very powerful)
or the Novena to the Miraculous Medal?
I will participate starting the 14th as well.
I hope we can get as many as possible as novenas are so very powerful when done together!SAS update on lump went back to DR and it had all but dissapeared. States it must have been an infection. I was so relieved as it was probably the most frightened I had been in several years.

I've been waking up with a headache every day for about a week. Sometimes it gets better during the day, sometimes not. Everything about my breast cancer puts me at higher risk for brain metastases, so I'm going to get a brain MRI. I also have symptoms of sinusitis so I'm going to see an ENT doctor on Monday. Please continue to pray for me and my family. Thanks.

mmm5 what wonderful news about the lump. I know you were frightened. Your written words at the time said reams. Frank doesn't always check in regularly, I hope he does to pick the novena , but your suggestion for ST. Jude is excellent. If we don't here from Frank by Monday, It will be St. Jude. I'll modify the post above to indicate so. I started to notify people last night , Judith -Mod had tried to fix it so I could do the many notifications, but I was blocked by the usual limitation of so many a day. I couldn't even recontact her to tell her. I will know in a few minutes whether it is fixed this morning. If it isn't I will have to contact another member to contact the mods for assistance. Edit we need to rethink this re:ST JUDE, I'll explain later after I get notifications out. I am still being blocked . Hopefully someone will see my post below and contact the mods, Otherwise I'm stuck until tomorrow. The St Jude novena requires that the prayers be said in church and copies left in the church. That may be problematic for many members. But I think our last St. JUDE novena , we decided that those that could would and those that couldn't wouldn't.

I notified the mods. Hopefully they will be able to fix whatever is blocking your PM's. If not, once the 24 hour cycle lets you send them again, let some of us help you get the word out.
If you send us the message you want, and divide up the list of other people to contact, I bet we can work around whatever limitations the software has in place.
I am willing to pass the word along, and I'm sure that others will be too.

Patmom---Thank you, thank you... I was able to post the notification on many threads, but if you can post on your regular threads that would be great. Once they take the block limit off, I have system that works pretty fast. In my favorite member section I have everyone that has posted on the Catholic discussion and Intentions thread for the last 1 3/4 years. It would be more difficult to break the list up. By the time I broke it up,, I could be done , if that makes sence. I have posted on many threads, but you and anyone wanting to post the novena notification C&P my announcement from here. I now of course to late realize, I should have put a title on it. Duh there is always something. I will edit it now- Hugs HUGs HUGS. There are people that only check in randomly, I like to give enough notice on a novena , so, they don't miss them. Under usual cases it falls under spamming rules, but the mods have been great about fixing it so the notifications have been easy.
Intentions have already started coming in. ---

Patmom-- here and In my PM I said there was a process. The process started after my above post and just finished, So, 3 hours and that didn't include thread posting. Primarily everyone that is on my PM list which has grown with each novena.
Frank dear one you will have allot of people praying for you. Half way through I realized you were in the notification--a moment of insight to late. Normally, I wouldn't specifically identify a person by name in the notification. Hope you don't feel it is/was an invasion of your privacy.

Count me in. Frank, you will be in Skip and my daily prayers as well. We are also praying daily for Skip's brother in law whose bladder cancer returned and he too is on aggressive chemo, and Tom who has advanced melanoma.
