Final read on MRI report - there are new and multiple lesions in both lobes of liver. Sigh. Seems like lately everything we do, the cancer takes and uses it to have a party. Appointment with oncologist on Wednesday - should find out next plan of action. Praise God I've made it this far!

Penny, bummed to hear that, I know this MRI result is not what you would have hoped for. You are so incredibly good at counting your blessings even when the news is not what you wish. May this Holy week and Easter season bring you lots and lots of those blessings.

Penny,
I'm sorry to hear about your MRI report. I'll be praying that your onc has a new plan that shuts down that cancer party. A blessed Holy Week to you and to everyone!

wishing all of you a special holy weekend. I joined the catholic church at the Easter Vigil in 2000. I am flooded with warm memories of the entire experience.
Thanks to all o f you for your prayers and support. Cast came off yesterday and the arm doesn't look like the other one and is more painful than I anticipated. Doctor thought things were fine and I have a 7am therapy appointment this a.m.

Redheaded1 - sorry about the arm pain. Hope the doc has some relief for you.
I just wanted to let you know that, if memory serves me right, 2000 is the year I joined the Church during Easter myself. What an amazing journey that led me there.

He is Risen indeed- I am so glad to see several TV shows dealing with Jesus Christ and the Resurrection. In these times it is so critical to educate the people.
Have a blessed week everyone

What a wonderful thead! This is exactly what I need right now. I will be reading a lot here.
A little about me: I was confirmed into the church at last Saturday's Easter Vigil. I'm a real newbie! What a beautiful experience. I will never, ever forget it. I had wanted to be Catholic my entire life--ever since I was a little girl who just loved Mary. Other experiences throughout my life continued to point me in the direction of the Church even though I didn't make any steps to convert.
Anyway, I was diagnosed Stage IIIa in 2013 and that is where my journey toward Catholicism began in earnest. I started visiting a nearby parish whenever I could and began RCIA last fall. I had just ended my treatments and had reconstruction surgery in December where it was later discovered that I had mets to my lung. I though I was supposed to be cured.
As hard and scary as my stage III diagnosis was for me, being diagnosed stag IV was much worse. The nights seemed so black and I would be terrified. I clung to my faith more tightly than ever. I continued with RCIA and I'm now confirmed! I am so grateful to become a part of this wonderful faith. Confirmation was unbelievably comforting and hopeful to me.
My husband has been less than supportive of my decision to become Catholic. It is very hard for me to deal with on top of my diagnosis when he can be downright cruel about it. He has been very supportive in other ways. I'm grateful though, I've been blessed with so much. I feel perfectly healthy despite having gone through so much physically.
Wishing all of you continued good health and successful treatments!

Dear Macy - I see we have the same pathology (er-/pr-/her+). I went through RCIA about 15 years ago (it's hard to remember lol). I found your statement of the "little girl who just loved Mary" interesting. A lot of people explain the Catholic love of Mary as a "pointer" to Christ. She draws people to Him.
Sorry you've had a rough go of it. I hope you find this thread comforting, as I have.

Congratulations, Macy, on your confirmation!
I'm sorry that you have been diagnosed with mets and that your husband has not supported your spiritual life. I am a "cradle Catholic" who married a lapsed Methodist. Even though he's attended Mass for 20 years, I still have to explain some things to him. But, he's at least respectful.
I was also diagnosed at Stage IIIa; I'll be finishing rads in two weeks. Then, it's more Herceptin and hormonal therapy. I hope your doctors find a treatment plan that works for you and that you continue to feel healthy.

I don't post here very often but want to share a "small miracle" with my Catholic friends. A dear and very devoted Catholic friend of mine has been praying for me practically daily since my diagnosis in February 2013. I purchased 6 pink rosary's and asked them to be blessed by the Father where I was baptized many moons ago. Then I gave them to my sisters, daughters, mother and my dear friend.
Yesterday I went in for another surgery and in true form my friend prayed for me with her rosary. But when she finished one decade, she noticed the silver chain turned gold in just that one decade. Since she is so knowledgable about the mysteries and miracles of our Blessed Virgin Mary, she knew right away what it was. It's called a small miracle in the Catholic Church and it's given as a reminder of our faith and belief in Mary and God the Father.
There's apparently more to the meaning than my simplified version but I wanted to share this with you. I am just so thrilled this happened to her...she deserves this kind of blessing AND I am so lucky to have a friend like her.

Amy that gives me chills! Thanks for sharing!0 -
AmyQ- what a super- yet another miraculous story. I have had a few myself. Most recently I lost my gold crucifix and chain and remembered I had been in the shower that morning and had lost it there once before. I never take it off. Had it around my ankle during RADS. Anyway halfway into the drain there was the cross but no chain. A week later I see something shiny near my washing machine and there is the chain.I prayed so hard to find them as I have worn it for years. God blessed us regularly w/little things , we just have to be aware of them. I take my rosary to church every Sunday and dip it in the holy water.

Grammy, I am so happy God interceded and helped you locate your beloved rosary. I would agree it was a miracle to find the rosary in two very different places in your home. I take my rosary to Mass but haven't thought to dip it in Holy Water so will do that tomorrow. Thank you for the tip.

AmyQ I have been away from the screen for a week and have just been catching up. I have just followed your progress on the other thread (The flat ...A Rant one). Congratulations on braving and coming through your surgery.Best wishes for your recovery. What a lovely surprise to find you here.
Macy congratulations on your confirmation. So sorry that your DH has found this difficult. I'm sure that has been difficult for you. People make their way to God in different ways. He calls all of us.You are responding in the way that is right for you. XXX

Amy- it was my neck chain and cross that are very small and delicate that fell off but I must add over the years have lost so many of my rosaries. I need more- would like to start a collection. As far as holy water I have actually at my past church taken a little 2 oz bottle to fill and kept it in my bedside drawer.

UPenn today. If liver numbers are elevated due to chemo, than they "should" be lower since I had last week off. However, if they're higher, then it's "complicated". Something tells me they'll be higher. Sigh. Haven't had good news in so long. Thank The Lord I feel good.
Prayers for all.
