hi girls,
I'm having my diagnostic ultrasound today and I'm really nervous about it. Can I ask for some prayers for courage to get though the test, waiting and whatever God has planned for me.
Thank you,
Nicole

Redheaded- Pray your stomach more settled today and any pain under control.
Now we are in to Lent and I for one will have a tough time avoiding the foods I aim to give up- as well as finding more good low hormone foods that have been fueling my ER positive status.
Last Novena of Michael The Archangel today.

Happy St Patrick's Day for tomorrow to all.

Feeling Feline---Thank you for the st paddy's greeting....Same to you! I got my corned beef today in the form of a Rueben sandwich. Didn't get a drop of green beer though. I would like to have everyone pray for my friend Susan on another thread. She has mets and her hubby has early Alzheimer's and she is stressed about setting up his care as she realizes now he will outlive her..... her tumor markers were up 23% in just 2 monhs.0 -
Reheaded1- I will pray for your friend Susan and her husband. May she find strength in God's grace.

Oh dear, Redheaded...prayers for Susan & her DH. I hope there is family support for the two of them. Also hope Susan has lots of options for other meds.
I haven't been here for too long...what I did see was you had a tough time in Feb, Red. Prayers that you are feeling much better.
Nicole...Happy for your good scan!!! I had an angel tech as well for my echo...I ask for him! He said, "I remember this heart...it has pretty rhythm"...then he turned the sound up so I could hear the different chamber sounds. He declared a very strong "65" heart (he doesn't make me wait for onc).
Love the St. Patrick's message, Feline. A friend is living in Ireland & watched the parade from St. Patrick's cathedral. I had a very tough rueben (my fav sandwich), compliments of my DH...not his best & it made me sad.
Prayers that God watches over all & we feel His love. Healing, forgiveness & peace...the message that I cling to...especially when I've been more than kind in my impatient ways of late. Take care

Welcome back RonnieKay.
You may be surprised to know this whole corned beef and cabbage thing is not an Irish tradition, it is a tradition that has developed in America on St. Patrick's day!
Penny will pray for Susan. XXX

feelingfeline- yep, I don't get the whole corned beef thing. Never had in when I grew up in UK. I do like to celebrate Easter though which is right around the corner. My son will actually be in Dublin on business over that weekend, so hope he takes lots of pics. Spring is here in tbe midwest. Daffodils and Hyacynth in my yard. Last day of the Novena to St Joseph, prayers for all.

Hope your son has a wonderful trip.
Plenty of daffs here too!
Here's some of ours
Yes really looking forward to Easter. I think it was so wise of the early church fathers to decide to have this annual reminder of what it's all about.

feelingfeline- They always reming me of the William Wordsworth poem
I think I am going to ask my son to buy me another rosary while over there. Hopefully it will put him in a spiritual frame of mind.

Ah Grammy...my cousin brought me a rosary from St Patrick's in Ireland when I was first dx w/mets...and one from Rome and Frankfurt & Buenos Ares (sp) (all from separate trips)...her daughter is a flight attendant so they take quick trips but she lights a candle in each church for all of us living with C.
Feline...I'm sure sharing the corned beef "origination" w/my DH will be sad...I'd never had corned beef until I married him...whose ancestors are English/ Scotch/Irish :-). With my German heritage...it's sausage any & every way!!!
Wishing everyone a beautiful week leading to Holy Week! Penance last night...thankful for God's mercies

Had a scan this morning. The left lobe of my liver looks good, thanks be to God! That is the side that the radioactive spheres were put into @ 3 months ago (12/23/14). The right side is still hard to read due to it only being a few weeks out from the procedure. The doctor said that's normal and he will know more at my next scan in May, however, he thinks he sees little lesions that weren't there before, but again, it's hard to tell at this point. Next week I meet with my oncologist to see what she wants to do. I feel like I'll never make it to NED (No Evidence of Disease) and that "mixed results" or "progression" will always be my scan results. Not trying to be negative or pessimistic. I've been at this for almost 5 years now and realize that my cancer is quite combative, not that not all cancers aren't. It's just that mine happens to be made up of particularly aggressive stuff. I am so grateful to God for His Strength to carry me through this long. He has made good things happen from a bad situation. Praise Him!
:-) Penny
