And here we have a kangaroo, wombat and echidna attending the holy birth. Oh the little wee mousy possum like creature on the right is a bilby.(Naturally!)

Astrid, thank you.
That is indeed a beautiful crib. (except for the spider where spider phobes like me are concerned!. Dear Lord please keep them far away from me.)
Where I used to live I had two Columban sisters as near neighbours. They had a South American crib, think it was Peruvian. Mary and Joseph etc had ponchos and there were lamas present.

Pretty story. My brain was fried this morning from chemo yesterday, so I didn't do my devotions. I couldn't read, I had to talk. I found three people willing to listen. Missed Friday Mass; had finally found some sleep. Tomorrow will be better.

Superius - maybe that's the reason for the spider in the Australian crib!
MC hoping you are getting rest and that the affects of the latest chemo are diminishing.

Yes, I slept well last night, and should get back to much of my routine. Although today I expect to be a sleepy, tired one. At least this morning I will be able to function.
I wish all a blessed day.

And you MC. XXX

Have patience with all things, but chiefly have patience with yourself. Do not lose courage in considering your own imperfections, but instantly set about remedying them – every day begin the task anew.

amen to that.
And for MC...

FF, I got St Margaret Clitherow whom I knew nothing about.
Great to read about her, and invite her into my life.

Isn't it? Just such a wonderful practical step to receive a Patron for the year. May we learn about and learn from our Saints. XXX

Please lift up in prayer, Father B.
Father B gave a lovely homily on Christmas Day. This Sunday he was listed on the prayer list. He felt really sick later on Christmas Day and went to the ER. He's now on Hospice (acute leukemia).
I didn't know Father B very well yet. He is a regular helper on weekends since he's retired. I've heard him give homilies about 6-10 times over the past year and I've always been impressed with his wisdom and his humanity. They told me he's 90 years old. He's so vibrant and lively, I would have guessed his age to be 75.
Soon our Lord will be saying, "Well done, good and faithful servant."

For Father B.
Christ be with me,
Christ be beside me,
Christ be before me,
Christ be behind me,
Christ be at my right hand,
Christ be at my left hand,
Christ be with me everywhere I go,
Christ be my friend for ever and ever.
Amen.
May Christ be all around Father B., forever and ever, Amen.

I was out late (for me) last night, but saw your note just before falling into bed. Today is chemo day. I got my hair cut several days ago at the barber shop. He told me that I have a pronounced line of baldness in the back, which I do. He suggested I start covering my head, and I agree; starting early will make the transition easier, and for now, shaving is not an option. I have two kerchiefs, four hats I knitted, and a baseball cap. My daughter and brother are busy in California setting up a combination birthday/Christmas present for me. I think he is going to teach her to sew, which I never got to do.
I am feeling good, but that is the top of the cycle.
I have some gift cards for gas, a charitable agency gave them to me, then I have to call another for rides, so i can dispense with the taxi company, which is in a state of chaos. Plus one of the drivers has a crush on me, and I have decided that I am psychologically incapable of trusting a man in an intimate relationship. I would rather get mothered by women my own age and older. I have the Catholic book club, and the Methodist quilting club. They are a real source of strength for me.

Wow MC rough. I got the shave when I woke up to the pillow covered in hair. You will know what is right for you. Best wishes for this latest round. Mothering sounds good! May Our Lady mother you today also. XXX

I am getting more and more attached to Mary the mother of God, now that I am seeing some of my own mother's imperfections.
