Oh Apple what a very trying time for your family! I just pray for all of you that you may feel God's peace and healing! Tari I agree with Apple be as aggressive as you can, use all your strength to get answers and speedy treatment!

My friend Cathy S. whom we have been praying and is dealing with brain cancer just had her 3rd brain surgery and suffered a major seizure that paralyzed her left side, she is on major steroids now that are really making horrible SE's. Please pray for her as she has 3 little one's and this has been just a horrible road. It is so frustrating as there is a somewhat successful  vaccine trial at UCLA that she is having trouble getting into just because of timing issues. Please keep her in your prayers. I just pray every day for at least 30 minutes for those of you and your family members that are dealing with cancer today in the present. I feel like the daily grind of Dr's appts, fatigue, SEffects, anxiety is just so overwelming! At this point I am just pleading with the saints and our Blessed Mother to intervene for some healings and release of anxiety.

Prayers today to St. Jude, Agatha and Peregrine for Cathy S. Candy,Natalia, Saint, Barbara, Apple's Brother and Sister, and continued miraculous works for Jeannine.

    Amen!

Day 5 - Novena of Thanks.

Thank you, dear Lord, for helping those who prayed to you in need. You listened and saw ways to help ease pain, worry, and fear. Thank you to our precious saints who know our feelings from their own trials, and who have interceded on our behalf. Please continue to be by our sides, listening, guiding, helping us as we travel these roads.

In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

Sweet Apple... How can I even say in words how I feel about your news...I cannot. So I pray with you . For you also Tarry and for Cathy...and KA.... ( another friends friend on BCO)

Father, I thank you for your mercy. You are always right in everything you do for us. Always. We are sinners and find life so hard at times and maybe we question your perfect ways. I , myself, wonder why at times. I am sorry . Right now, we are seeing some really tough situations in our personal lives. Help us to listen to you... so that we may do all we can to help the others. You said, " If you believe, really believe..that you will be healed, you will" I do not ask for the healing, but for us to truly believe that you HAVE healed us... so that we can live in this glory you promised. Teach us Father.. We want to learn. I love you, Laura

And adding special prayers for the recent events noted here...Mary, we're hoping your brother is finding a treatment for all the things they're finding. Makes you almost want to say, "Stop looking, for goodness sake." And your sister...words fail me.  I know how it feels to have a family in health crisis.  So I pray for peace and help in their difficulties.

In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

Bless my heart because I am good to my sister.  I picked her up from her colonoscopy this morning.. and let her take me out to breakfast.  She is totally mentally ill about eating out.. she orders special things, always files complaints and causes a scene.  About 20 years ago I vowed NEVER to eat out with her again.  I thought she'd be fine this morning.

    o my

she complained, she shouted, she stiffed the waitress... her eggs had to be well done, no bacon, extra ham, green peppers on the side, sour cream on the side, hotter coffee....

she said " Listen here...  I just had a colonoscopy and I haven't had anything to eat since Tuesday night.  I had this liquid that totally emptied my bowels, and I am not going to sit here and wait while some little waitress prances around, is inefficient.and pretends to be blond.   I have been waiting for 25 minutes"

i about died.  (it had only been about 8 minutes)..

I wonder what she's gonna be like while recovering from surgery.  egads.  I had to go back and tip the waitress -  poor dear.

I am going to say 3 Hail Marys to calm down.

    Prayers for all my sisters

OMGOSH APPLE... NO WAY..... How did you stay calm... I am sitting here at my PC with my lower jaw open over this "normal" outburst your sister had... I am in AWE..... BLESS YOUR HEART is right....... I think you must be 110% times nicer than I... if my brother ( only sibling I have) behaved this way... I personally think I would have.... I BETTER NOT SAY....

WOW.... YOU ARE THE WOMAN.... Hang in there girl.... WOW.. I might have to say three Hail Mary's myself just thinking about such an ordeal...

Mary, as my grandmother used to say, there's special place in Heaven for you. Patience is one of my variable virtues. Sometimes I have lots and lots of it. Other times, I'm on a hair trigger. Let's just say I don't suffer fools gladly, but will put up with endless stuff from little kids and sick people.

Good grief, Apple!  How'd you manage to keep your breakfast down?  What a morning you had!  Bless your heart indeed!!  Such sad news about your brother and sister.  I'll pray for your family.

Praying you'll make the decision that's best for you, Tarry.  It's a tough situation to be in.

The past two weeks have been very stressful and hectic for me...taking care of everyone except myself...just one of those things.  I was so exhausted by Wednesday night that I started to cry and couldn't stop (so unlike me), so at 8:00 I took a sleeping pill and went to bed and said, "God, I'm too tired to pray much so this is going to be short and sweet.  Please let me have a little relief in my life soon.  Amen."  My prayer was answered the next day, and today was a much better day! :)

God bless each and every one of you.  Keeping you all in my prayers tonight.

I know about problem siblings (I'm one of seven kids). I have a brother who is an absolute jerk...always means well, but just cannot do anything without seriously pissing somebody off...absolutely no diplomacy, a loud braggard. But he'll be there to help you in a second. You just have to take the bad with the good especially when they're family.

i goofed in my praying.. as I am only on day 4 of the Thanksgiving Novena.

I had to get ready for Confirmation (the music).  My favorite (very elderly) bishop presided.  It was a lovely ceremony with 87 confirmati (how's that for a word?)

I am saddened by the recent accusations in Europe.. it's a challenge for the faithful... at least this faithful

Laura, I truly believe in the power of a novena. Unbeknownst to me, my mother made one for me to return to the Church during a period when I had fallen away. And here I am now.

What is going on in the church does not change my belief in our dear Lord and our Blessed Mother, but I have trouble with the way pedophila has been handled in the church.

Hello dear sisters....my thought for today...I so miss going to daily Mass....work has a way of interfering with life, don't ya think?

Siblings...can we just not go there tonight? It has been a tough week on that front.  Let's just say I need to restart my Novena to St. Anne....she interceded so powerfully for me last year...but I think I have to make a perpetual Novena to her!  What a crazy lot I have....

Love and prayers for all of you and yours!

    God Bless!

PS I wanted health care reform without paying for abortions....didn't get that either...it really has been a tough week....

Michelle.. OH I pray your DH gets this JOB! Let us know.. wahoooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Lovemyfamily... I ask you to remember that this happens all over. the reason it hit the media about Catholic priests.. is the same reason TOYOTA has hit the media.

THE BIGGEST AND BEST of both worlds... the media has a HAY DAY! This is the way of our secular world. It just is.

The people of the Church were WRONG WRONG WRONG.. just like any sin they do. Man sins and this is why Jesus had to come. I never understood why anyone made our Church out to be perfect. Well, I mean the people of the Church. The ONE HOLY AND APOSTOLIC CHURCH ... " We believe.. is infallible. But MAN is not. So I never really understood why anyone would leave the " Church" ( Universal) after MAN failed.???????????

    I doubt I ever will.

I hope my DH will never "leave" me because I sin....

I pray you can come to terms with this. I really do!!! (((((((((HUG)))))))))))

    APPLE.. HOW IS SAINT???????????????????????????????????

    re Saint -  from Faith's thread -

    "18 hours ago faithandfifty wrote:

I'm over at DD1's so she can take WB to pediatrician for ear infection-inspection.

Their computer won't let me cut & paste a post.

I have just put up on Saint's thread in the Stage IV area, that I called her late this morning and that she answered. We ended up having a significant, though challenging conversation.

She is in a great deal of pain. The pain patches make her 'crazy' and so she'd decided to discontinue their use today -- so she was miserable with pain.

Yesterday she spent the day getting a transfusion, but it has not yet given her the "lift" that she often receives following one.

We spent much of the conversation speaking about our friendship and what we have meant to one another. We were each in tears at various points. Then we took deep breathes and attempted to shift to upbeat memories to brighten our collective mood in this difficult chapter.

It's very difficult to know just how much Saint would want me to share 'publicly' and so I will just conclude by imploring you to include her in your prayers. "

Comments about the media are just right on! There was a rabbi in the news today for the same charges, it happens everywhere in every walk of life and it is horrible, beyond horrible, but it is not just in the Catholic Church it is everywhere, the media loves to pray on the priests because it makes a sensational story!

Life is so hard sometimes, the bad news can really be hard!! I had been doing really well feelilng just amazing the best I had mentally and physically since dx, the last 3 days I am just down, very fatigued and back to that chronic pain we have all dealt with. I think the only thing is just to keep praying and stay close to prayer and thanks, the things of this world can really drag one down!! I feel too tired to even pray today just going to go to bed early!!
