Day 3 - Novena for Special Intentions and Intercesstion

I pray to St. Perergine, St. Agatha, and St. Lucy to intercede for our special intentions with Our Heavenly Father. Please grant my sister Barbara, Saint, Jeannine, CathyS., and Apple's brother peace, comfort, and hopefully a miracle.

In Jesus's name, I pray. Amen.

Just my own word on the priest/sex scandals. The media makes such a big thing of it because Roman Catholic priests take a vow of celibacy, unlike most other Judeo/Christian religions. Pedophilia aside, priests should not be engaging in ANY sexual conduct, and that's why the media always plays it up over other clergy/sex scandals...unless the other incidents involve minors, church funds, infidelity, etc.

Personally, I would like to see the Vatican relax it's dictate on married clergy. We are in desparate need of priests, and I see this as one way to draw more men into this calling. Deacons (or half-priests, as my father jokingly called them) are allowed to be married when they are ordained, but must remain celebate if their spouse dies. I think that's something our Church should explore for priests, too.

Good morning dear sisters, yes life is so hard thats why we need to focus on JESUS. Remember FAITH COMES BY HEARING ON THE WORD OF GOD. We need to live in His word and everyday focus on scripture and all that He promises. We are on this Earth for a brief time. Jesus said life is "but a vapor". He also said "you will have tribulation". He came so that we might have life and have life more abundantly. He is the only way the truth and the light in this dark world.

Michele when I read about your friend Patty and her husband my heart was overwhelmed. She will remain in my daily prayers. Asking for prayer is the first step, how else do you deal with such a tragedy. You must tell us how your husband made out on his last interview...we must continue to trust that God has a purpose in his search.

Apple, what an inspiration you are...your family certainly has been threw the fire. May God continue to lead you threw that fire, Amen

Ladies continue to PRAY, PRAY, PRAY. We are in a battle and prayer is are only armour, so put on that armour and meet the devil head on.....

On another note....tomorrow I am attending a divine mercy conference.  Imaculee from Rwanda will be there ("Left to Tell"....have you read?? Awesome faith story) as well as Fr. Benedict Groeschel, Fr. Calloway...drug addict turned priest and other renowned speakers.

I am sure we will have prayer time...I will lift all of yuor intentions up for Divine Mercy...and my families as well as their struggles if not shared with the Lord, would be almost impossible to bear.  Seems that almost every family member of mine is struggling right now...(and when you have 10 siblings and umpteen neices/nephews 2 stepkids, 1 grandchild that gets tough!).  I think we are really in a spiritual warfare.  And I am fighting back with both hands holding beads....one for the rosary, the other for the Divine Mercy Chaplet.  Its the only way to fight these times...

What would do without the Lord's help....

I hope this conference offers inspiration and perspective!

    God Bless...

I just joined the cancer club, & I'm amazed and gratified by the support I've found here from so many women.  This past week, my mom just gave me a relic of St. Peregrine, and my sister gave me a holy card of St. Agatha, patroness of breast diseases.  I knew that Peregrine was the patron saint of cancer, but did not know anything about St. Agatha.  Her feast day is Feb. 5 - here is what I found: [shttp://saints.sqpn.com/saint-agatha-of-sicily/]:

We have little reliable information about this martyr, who has been honoured since ancient times, and whose name is included in the canon of the Mass. Young, beautiful and rich, Agatha lived a life consecrated to God. When Decius announced the edicts against Christians, the magistrate Quinctianus tried to profit by Agatha's sanctity; he planned to blackmail her into sex in exchange for not charging her. Handed over to a brothel, she refused to accept customers. After rejecting Quinctianus's advances, she was beaten, imprisoned, tortured, her breasts were crushed and cut off. She told the judge, "Cruel man, have you forgotten your mother and the breast that nourished you, that you dare to mutilate me this way?" One version has it that Saint Peter healed her. She was then imprisoned again, then rolled on live coals; when she was near death, an earthquake stuck. In the destruction that followed, a friend of the magistrate was crushed, and the magistrate fled. Agatha thanked God for an end to her pain, and died.

Legend says that carrying her veil, taken from her tomb in Catania, in procession has averted eruptions of Mount Etna. Her intercession is reported to have saved Malta from Turkish invasion in 1551.

    God bless all of you!

I have just gotten word from Saint's husband Greg...... there is nothing more that her doctors can do for a "future" for our sister-Pat. It is unlikely that she will leave the hospital, tho as he said, "she has fooled us before."

They are attempting to modulate her pain.

This is spring break for both of the kids and they are sitting at the hospital, awaiting the coma to envelope their mother completely. There is heart-break a plenty.

Greg asked that I invite additional prayers for each of them. He also specifically asked me to thank everyone who got involved in the birthday-card shower for Pat.

He said that he doesn't expect the coma-phase to begin today or tomorrow, but soon.

Right now all I can do is report this news. I can not yet take it "in." Thank you to each of you who have expressed your concern for me, too. It has been one of the greatest joys of my life to have come to know Pat.... and I have been honored to share her with you, more fully.

Let us pray earnest prayers of support to her immediate and extended family.

Pat had always told me that when she was 'done' she wanted to go 'quickly.' This is my most ferverant prayer for her..... for her family. That she not suffer.

It's Holy Week and heaven is prepared to receive a Saint. May the timing be ordained by our Creator. May we all pray Pat's prayer: the prayer of acceptance. She has lived a noble life thru the unthinkable, now may she be rewarded as only heaven can offer.

    xx00xx00xx00xx

    Strength and Courage.

Sending prayers for Sister Saint and all of my bc sisters.  I am enclosing a song written by a friend of mine:

     Father up above
    Surround me with your love
Here's my life I'm giving it all to you
In the name of your Son
Please forgive the wrong that I've done
Here's my life I'm giving it all to you

    I spent so many years
    Living in the past
    Chasing after pleasures
    And things that never last

    So many times
I chose to take the fall
"Til I came to my senses
With my back against the wall

    Father up above
    Surround me with your love
Here's my life I'm giving it all to you
In the name of your Son
Please forgive the wrong that I've done
Here's my life I'm giving it all to you

    I always had a feeling
When I was living on the run
That the life that I was living
    Was about to come undone

    Then I felt myself awaken
    When I came to realize
That the life that I was living
Was a life not yet begun

    Father up above
    Surround me with your love
Here's my life I'm giving it all to you
In the name of your Son
Please forgive the wrong that I've done
Here's my life I'm giving it all to you
Here's my life I'm giving it all to you
Here's my life I'm giving it all to you

    Good Morning Ladies

I was in mass yesterday and today and continued the Novena to St. Jude, Agatha, and Peregrine for Saint, Saints family, Natalia, Jeannine, Cathy S.Patty and Family, Candy, Barbara, Apple's brother and sister. I also added safety and healing prayers for you Janathan and your upcoming surgery.....Be Well and enjoy the time with your Husband!

Please add Patty from this board to your prayers, she is on this thread "Please Pray for Me" she is a BC survior of about one year, and her Husband was just dxed with Pancreatic Cancer with mets to Liver! She has two little babies and has been through the ringer, she is still in treatment a year later and just got the news about her DH 2 weeks ago and still has to care for those babies. I just cry every time I think of them and all that they have to deal with each day, she is lovely strong woman and has been so positive but just keeps getting more "junk" she is from a Catholic family as well and I am actually friends with her sister here in AZ.

Lord please bring blessings to these families and favor them with your light and love.

Prayers for Pat and Patty...and for their dear families.  As we enter this Passion Week, may each of us carry our crosses knowing with full heart that the gift of the  resurrection is awaiting each of us.

At times when we read these stories of unthinkable pain, fear and disappointment in our health, families, finances, etc, is is good to reflect that the Passion that our Lord endured for us.  How could have the most loving, gentle, humble God-Son been treated so cruelly without reason?  But God is generous....He turns all our crosses into opportunities for growth in faith, kindness, and love for one another!  Look what He did for us out of the Crucifixion! How incredibly astounding was that?  Eternal life with Him because His Son was crucified for us!

When all seems lost remember that which needs to guide us through our pain...the prayer that Sr. Faustina taught us....even if we can't get through the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, (one of the most powerful weapons in all of the cosmos.)...we can simply pray, "Jesus, I trust in You".

    God Bless!

Prayers for Saint, her family, and her dear friend Faith.  I pray for peace and comfort for Saint as she ends her journey here on earth but rejoice that she will be accepted into the arms of our Lord and Savior in heaven.

I pray to St. Peregrine for his intercession on behalf of all those with cancer, I pray to St. Agatha for all BCO sisters, and I pray for the special intentions of all on this thread.

Saint's journey is complete on this earth.

She is now in heaven where she will never suffer again.

I honestly feel her final prayer & wish was granted..... she did not want to 'linger' at the end.

    Thank God.

    Thank God.

    Thank God.

I am so grateful to you, her Catholic sisters for your fervent prayers in the 'language' that was her experience. When I read her your intercessions, she was often moved to tears of gratitude.
