Happy First Sunday of Easter. I quit my music job (and I am relieved because my 'temporary director was wearing my out with his disorganization).
This moving is an overwhelming amount of work. The property is covered with dead wood, trees growing up in fences and landscaping.. I have to help my husband shop and measure and cut wood. We are the biggest packrats in the universe.. well, my husband is. I've already packed 60 boxes of books and have 60 more to go. I have been preparing for a garage sale, and everything my husband sees he wants to keep. I know there is a bible verse about having too many possessions.. I wish I could just come up with it.
My sis is the world's worst patient. I feel like writing a letter of apology to the poor doctor's and nurses who put up with her the four short days she was there. Her surgeon told me privately that she had to 'man up' and 'get with it'. ha ha. I am surviving my extra activity. Femara is on kicking drug but I am surviving with a little help from hydrocodone.
It is so beautiful and Easter - y outside.
Nancy I will miss you. I check everymorning and am always comforted and inspired with your devotion.
Prayers to all my sisters.

I will start a Novena of sorts today, filling in for Nancy... 1 decade of the rosary, going thru the four mysteries, Joyful, Sorrowful, Glorious and Luminous or Light mysteries. It should take 20 days. I will not post my prayers but dedicate it to all my sisters.
info on the Light mysteries
Luminous Mysteries
- The Baptism of Jesus in the Jordan. Fruit of the Mystery: Openness to the Holy Spirit-the Healer.
- The Wedding at Cana. Fruit of the Mystery: To Jesus through Mary. The understanding of the ability to manifest-through faith.
- Jesus' Proclamation of the Kingdom of God. Fruit of the Mystery: Trust in God
- The Transfiguration. Fruit of the Mystery: Desire for Holiness
- The Institution of the Eucharist. Fruit of the Mystery: Adoration

Wonderful idea Apple. I will join you. I need to pray the rosary more. I used to do it while on the treadmill... but felt like I was not deep enough in prayer... I will try with you again.
You are awesome!
Ladies.. I hope your hearts are full of the Holy Spirit.
I am personally dealing with some things that are family related and not good. Can I ask for prayer.

Joyce, how are you healing?

Esteep, you are always so supportive of all of us--I will certainly pray for you and hope that the family related stuff will turn out well. Thanks Apple for reminding us of the fruits of the rosary. Keep it up! I have been saying the rosary of the seven sorrows--meditating on Mary's sorrows--Simeon telling her that a sword will pierce her heart, fleeing Egypt with the baby Jesus, being with Jesus at Calvary, standing at the foot of the cross, holding the body of Jesus and the burial of Jesus. What pain she must have experienced as a mother!! Our lady tells us that the rosary can work miracles! Love you all my sisters! xo

Hello lovely ladies,
I have great news...my CT's are all clear. Yes! I almost don't want to believe it because it's so incredible...My lovely coordinator @ UCLA gave me the results today when I went to get my Nuprigin shot. She didn't have the pelvis results but my 4x2 mass in rt. axilla..gone! & Lungs, chest, heart, kidney (except 2 cysts) spine, all clear too. I tell you this is the work of our dear Lord..I know it!
We don't know if I'll be excluded from the study until I get a confirmatory CT in 4 - 5 weeks. I'm still in shock.
I will continue to pray for all of you, as you have for me.
Nancy: We'll definitely miss you here. How blessed your Godmother is to have a great goddaughter like you.
Apple: Too funny about your sister being such a "patient"..Thank you for filling in for Nancy with the luminous mysteries. My daughter still knows all of them by heart.
Continuing the intecessory prayers to St. Agatha and St. Peregrine for all suffering now. In Jesus' name Amen!

Jeannine...so good to hear your good news!!! Life is full of God granted miracles! So glad you are the recipient of a BIG one!!
Laura, sorry to hear you have family issues....they are tough. I have been on a roller coaster myself these past several years with "family issues". I can honestly say that as tough as they are, I am finding that the more I trust in Jesus, the more I can get through these times with calm. That wasn't always the case with me before BC.....but as I have mentioned here before, as rotten as BC is, in my case it was pure gift! I wasn't able to go back to work so I had a year to devote to prayer and seeing the world through different eyes.
I think I will always have family issues...I have so much family it is hard not too....but the more I trust in HIm who is all merciful, the more I am gaining the calm and peacefulness needed to get through these trials. If you have the time LAura, sit in front of a tabernacle. You will receive there the graces you need to get through this.
Lord, please give Laura the strength and peace she needs to be a guiding light through her family's tribulations. May she forever feel your love and recognize you are with her and her family through it all....that we never walk alone and that your invitation is to to have everyone make You are part of their trials so that you may help them through it. May Laura and her family live in your Divine Will...Amen.
God Bless you sisters!

my family is kind of falling apart too. I'm the oldest of 9.. we have all grown up to be such different sorts of people. kind of disjointed. A couple of my brothers had a misunderstanding and don't speak now.. just being judgemental I think.
My sis is up and about and ready to return to work Monday. She is emotionally needy (and still difficult). I love her.
I thank you God for Estepp's cheery support of our Catholic faith and offer again Thanks for Jeanine's wonderful news.
I am playing a Wedding Saturday.. It is huge and I am just not ready.. so it's back to practicing again. We are packing, fixing the new house, clearing out our old one. I am getting tense and wishing the day had more hours.
I went to a lovely Mass this morning.. just took an hour off and prayed for you all.

Apple, good luck at the wedding! How is your new home looking? Dh and I are at the point... we have been here 17 yrs.. we have 3 acres... and a big enough home. BUT... there are things we want in a home now.. that were no important 17 yrs ago when we built. SO... do we stay here and add on ... or move?

Estepp!
Another great avatar! Nice!!
Apple....I am one of 12...soooo disjointed! One of the best things about growing up in a large family....you learn to love people you would never even socialize with if you had met them outside of the family! God has a pretty good sense of humor at times, doesn't He?? HA!
God Bless!

Just poppping to say I read about Jeannine's wonderful news. I'm so so happy for you! I hope the meds keep doing their good thing for a long, long, time.
My aunt just isn't getting the rehab she should because the staff seems indifferent or overworked. Not sure which. She's going to PT every morning for several hours, but then the nursing staff doesn't follow through the rest of the day. They'd rather plop her in a wheelchair than make her use a walker.
We're concerned that she may never be able to live on her own again. What to do? What to do? I will be seeing her tonight and will have to have a tough conversation with her. Since she's still in her very right mind (thank goodness), her health proxy (my brother) can't step in. She needs to fight for herself with the nursing staff, hopefully with the social worker's support, or we may have to consider moving her to another facility. If she were closer to my brothers and me, we could be more visible and active in getting her needs met. We found this out last year when we went through several nursing homes with our father.
As one of seven (we're all such big families), I understand the difficulties with family dynamics. You love them all, but some of them just rub you the wrong way. I've got at least one, too, and he's one of the bros I live with (ugh!).
Sorry to vent, but I'm going back into lurk/occasional visit mode. Please just pray that we make my aunt as comfortable and settled as possible.

Good morning.
It's been a blah blah day (& emotional one) now that the health is improving, I'm refocused about the issues plaguing DH & I... especially lately. Intimacy...Hello!!?? What is that? He works so much I almost feel like we're roomates..My DD too..so hard to get her to help at home. They're all so lucky I've been self sufficient and haven't landed in the hospital. DH saw me in tears and hugged me but I just don't know.. I know..1 day @ a time. I thank the Lord for his enduring strength and love every day.
Apple/Nancy: Well I only have 1 brother and it's enough! He was addicted to Meth for 10 years and boy did my parents suffer. He is clean now only through the grace of God. I sometimes wish I had another sibling to rely on because I'm the one my folks go to. Always a blacksheep in the bunch but he's my only baby brother and my blood.
Nancy: I think you should truly consider bringing your aunt closer to you and your family. Sounds like she's not getting the care she needs. I pray you find the right place for her.
Laura: Love the new pic. Your hair is so pretty! I've been in our home for 17 yrs. too and there are too many memories for us. Now DH is set on the remodeling the kitchen to make me happy...(If he only would focus on the other things) I think you should stay in your lovely home though.
A co-worker just burst into tears at my cubicle because he's getting laid off in June and his diabetes is severe. (He's developed a severe alergic reaction to one of his meds). Now he's got to deal with losing his insurance. We all understand the significance of that. I feel so bad for him. He has no family here in CA all alone from KS. Please say a prayer for Sonny Urbano.
Prayers & ((((Hugs)))),

Hi, I am new to this board. I too know about St. Peregrine. My mother was a devote Catholic and believed that with prayer all was possible. When my coworkers son was sick a couple of years ago my mother got a medal for miracles and had me give it to my coworker. My mother has sinced passed away. Before one of my doctors appointments when I was feeling very low the same coworker dropped off a prayer card for me of St. Peregrine and a medal. I knew my mother had sent her. I felt such an amazing joy as I found the card and medal. I know it was a message from my mother to continue to pray and all would be fine. Since my diagnosis I have said the rosary each evening and take great comfort in it. I believe that my cancer has made my faith stronger and I thank God for that. PS My St. Peregrine medal is a permanent fixture around my neck.
