I may be off again for a while <sigh>. When my aunt is discharged from rehab on Saturday, I will be staying with her for a while. I will bring my little netbook with me, but I'm certain she doesn't have internet service. I'm hoping someone in her apartment building has an unsecured wifi set-up that I can sneak onto. I can post when I go to work if I'm not busy. So it may be spotty for a few days early next week.

I hope you all prayed yesterday to make up for my inability to post Day 8. Being at my aunt's without internet connection was just bearable. But Oh My, her apartment was so...dirty and dusty.

Part of that is NYC living. You just can't get away from the dust and dirt that comes in the windows. And part of it was her disinterest in cleaning. She even didn't want me to clean, but at least I did the bathroom and the kitchen sink. Oh, the kitchen sink was a trip! When we saw it last weekend, we thought it was just so old that the porcelin had worn away to the cast iron (it's the original sink from @ 1939). But after I did a little scrubbing with some cleanser w/bleach, what we thought was cast iron starting coming off. It was mold! One whole side was brown to black.

The bed I had to sleep in was so dusty, I couldn't turn my head into the pillow. I tried beating the dust out, but the pillows really needed to be washed. My aunt was afaraid to let me leave her alone even to pick up her mail in the lobby, so there wasn't a chance to do laundry for her. She was a little better this morning, as she knew she had to be alone for a couple of hours between when I left for work and when my brother was arriving to go over some things with her and set up an aide to come for 4 hours a day. I'm going back after work to make dinner for her, but I'm having my daughter pick me up from there and I'm going home to sleep in my own bed tonight.

Day 9 - Novena for Special Intentions and Intercesstion

I pray to St. Perergine, St. Agatha, and St. Lucy to intercede for our special intentions with Our Heavenly Father; for all on this support board who have been touched by breast cancer, especially Kittycat; may they find peace of mind.

In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

Nancy....wow...what an ordeal with your aunt!!  You ARE so special!  There is a special place in heaven for angels like you!  I hope you are able to appreciate your own goodness!

Estepp!  You will love the book! I just know it!  The CD's...well you will have to let me know if I burned them correctly! I was running out of time as I was doing it and am afraid I screwed it all up! I can certainly try again if I did, as they are some of my favorite prayer CD's!  Just let me know!

Blessings to all my sisters here tonight!

    God Bless!

oh dear Nancy.. I pray you get some help cleaning.  It's so sad how people deteriorate as they age. You are sweet to care for you aunt.

I have a new organ job, playing in the most adorable church.. very old with marble walls, stained glass, and it is recently renovated.  the organ sits up in a loft.  (I'll go back to old one as well next year after my 'sabbatical'.

Well, I figure I have at least one more special job to do for my aunt. We have several twin mattress sets in storage at my house, some of them almost brand new (everyone wants to have a queen bed now, lol). My aunt's bedroom set is from the 1930's—or earlier, with open springs, not boxed. Although they are more recent vintage, the mattresses are not very comfortable. So if I can get one of my brothers to help with his pick-up truck, I'd like to move a couple sets down for her and take the old ones away.

Then I figure from here on it's just maintenance...weekly calls and grocery runs.

Good morning Ladies, I know I have been away a long time. Lots going on in my life BUT I always have time to check in to see how my girls are doing and always keep you all in my prayers, Kittycat, Barbara, Nancy, Michele, and all those who need special prayers. I have been caring for my SIL who is dealing with lung cancer. She is only 52 years old, just recently married to her childhood sweetheart of 32 years. This was her first marriage and 6 months later was diagnosed. It is so sad and she is very dear to me. She was 8 years old when I started dateing her big brother and we have always been very close. Please keep Candy in your prayers.

I just wanted to share with you the marvelous book I am reading. "Our Lady of Kibeho" written by a survivor of the Rwanda masacre of 1994 Immaculee Ilibagiza. This is one of the most amazing books I have ever read and amazingly not many people know that Our Lady and Our Lord came to this African village Kibeho in 1981 threw 1989 warning the people that unless they repent and come back to God that many people would die. One of the visionaires actually was given a vision of the slaughter of so many of her people and the rivers would run red with the blood of the dead. In 1994 less then 100 horrifying days of savage slaughter of innocent men, women and children 1,000,000 people were dead and all that  was predictied came to pass. This has since become approved by the Church and yet so many people don't even know of these remarkable events that were witnessed by as many as 1 million people. It brings to mind what Jesus said when people asked for a miracle, "if someone was raised from the dead they would not believe". This is a must read. Today in Medjagorie Our Lady still is appearing imploring us to come back, stop the madness of consumption of worldly desires that consume our lives giving us so little time to spend with our Dear LORD and yes is it Angel who is involved with Anne and Directions for Our Time which truly is a call to become strong examples of our faith and bring others to CHRIST. Open your eyes, people to what is going on in the world, we are truly in a spiritual battle. Jesus said there will come a time when we will be pursecuted for our faith and that is truly happening to us Christians today. Look at what is happening to our poor children, my grandchildren who are being bombarded with evil all around them. I can't have a conversation with them without them texting while I am talking to them. Either their on a computer or texting their friends. I'll never forget when I was in Medjagorie back in 1989 and in one of Our Ladies messages she warned that Satan will become the center of our homes and we will be made to bow down to him, has this become true when we see all our children caught up in the teck world, where is GOD in all this.

Okay, enough blabbing I love all of you and those prayers offered up are POWERFUL.

Ah, technology...the devil's work?  No, but like anything else wildly and widely popular, it can be an instrument turned against us. Some religions consider alcohol, music, and card playing to be devil's tools. Well, it all depends on the person and the application.

I have nothing against a glass of wine or even a cocktail on occasion, love my rock 'n roll, and have played more than my share of solitaire. It's when people develop addictions to these things that evil is attached to them. And some people just have addictive personalities...that is, they will develop addictions to the most innocuous things. And others have physical deficiencies that are fufilled in their addictions.

Because some people get out of control doesn't mean that everyone else should be subjected to abstinence or even restraints. Free will is in us for a reason.

Holy Rosary estepp.  right near Garozzo's and the Vietnam Cafe at 5th and Campbell.(i think that's the street).  just up the street from the city market.

The Vietnam Cafe is excellent.  One can have a great dinner for about 8 bucks.. 10 if you get coffee or a drink.   we always order sweet potato fries and then an appetizer (spring rolls maybe) and then one soup each .. 5 people - about 45 dollars.. and it's good.

Nancy, I definitely agree, everything in moderation, however it's what our children have access to that troubles me both on television and on the internet. So much violence and sex. Just look at what the accepted way of dress in the schools are, you really have to wonder. God is being taken out of our schools and government and certainly out of many homes. I get so mad that every weekend my kids are so involved with sports that sometimes it takes them away from going to church and my kids insist that sports takes them off the streets and is a very important part of good parenting, this is so backward. Yet I see my kids who are grown so caught up in the world. Both my grandchildren our involved in gymnastics, soccar, basketball, softball and dance. It's crazy not to mention the darn texting, constantly. I know I'm getting old and kinda glad I can get off this merrry-go-round our children our on. I have no doubt that we are in the last days and these are just signs of his coming. I was in Medjagori in 1989 and I was convinced it would be soon as I thought it was bad then but look what has happened since that time. My kids were watching Happy Days and Lavern and Shirley, that was only a short time ago. No computers, no porn on your tv's. Why just the other night my husband was flicking threw the chanels at 9 pm and came accross a program that just stunned me, it was unbelieveable.

Dear Lord have mercy on us forgive us our sins , save us from the fires of hell and lead all souls to heaven especially those most in need of thy mercy.

    Hello dear ladies of faith-

I took a much needed break from the boards and really was doing very well, I got on with my life started taking a low dose of Lexapro and really got back to so much! I read your posts during this time but only allowed myself to come on a couple times per week. When I saw Nonijones post I was so moved, and wanted to tell you NJ I still have Candy in my Daily Novena. I have been really busy with kids and starting a company and really involved in my Parish. I recently had a bit of a setback when I had my 2 year check up my WBC count was low (it go's up and down and I understand it is common for those of us that had chemo for a year) I wonder how yours is Laura?

Anyway I had so much anxiety from it as I had to have it retested several times and it just brought so much pain and worry back to me. Please keep me in your prayers that I pass the next blood test next week and I can enjoy a good summer with my boys. Also my Husband has many good job prospects and I really believe something good will happen within the next month.

I pray for Candy, Jeannine, Barbara, Apple's Brother, and sister. and the 3 little girls in my parish fighting brain tumors right now.

Take care and be well, I will say special novena to St. Agatha and Mary for all of your intentions this evening.

mmm, good to see you. I do not go in anymore than every 6 months now. I get full body scans.. not blood work. My oncology dept. feels that these blood  tests give too many false positives in BC women. They do not, nor have ever checked my tumor markers. I have had 5 full body scans ( Mri,Pet,CT,Bone scan) in the last two yrs... Since they all check out good... they consider me..." cured" in the cancer world... ( which means NED to all of us). I feel you will be fine. I bet, you suffer some allergy in the spring. This drops the WBC .

Holy Rosary... off Metcalf? Good luck with the new job Apple!! HOW IS THE HOUSE COMING?

Amen to things changing so much in the family, due to the advancement in tech. Good and bad... I sometimes see thing I know is just... TERRIBLE.. and I feels SO BAD for our God. I tell Him I am so sorry for what we, as a society, have done to hurt Him. After ALL He went through.

But ladies... lets remember.. this is WHY He died for us... for our sins. "

Bless you all and keep you safe, and filled to the brim with His love in your heart.

PS... ANGEL.... the Cd's do not play in my car...grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr... so I will be trying them in the other car tomorrow... ")
