Marlegal, you seem to be in such a good place mentally (and physically!).  And you are so supportive and loving to others you've not even met in person.  I find it admirable that you take the time, after your own experience 8 years ago, to keep being there for others.  This will sound trite, but you seem to have grown from your experience.  Maybe it's all too raw to me or something, but I keep looking forward to the day when I can be done with surgeries and step away from these boards.  I love the humor and support, but I don't like reading about others suffering setbacks, and have become much more emotional since I got my diagnosis.  I'm done crying for myself, but trying to stifle tears whenever someone here (or on other threads) presents bad news is painful.  Then I end up red, drippy and blotchy.  It's good I work from home.

I have started checking in almost daily again; you and the other girls keep me coming back! Maybe one day, if and when I'm "done" with treatments, I will be in a place where I have the wisdom, knowledge and compassion to be as helpful and kind to others as you are.

Quiet Monday.  Did you all burn your eyes watching Miley Cyrus?  I have purposefully NOT watched it...my co-worker told me once you see it, it can't be unseen & that just doesn't sound like something I need to see.  Watching the elephant twerk was plenty of excitement for me, thank you very much.

    Hello...

52 year old just diagnoised at the beginning of August with Stage 0. I already had my lumpectomy and go in tomorrow to find out if margins are clean (crossing my fingers). Radiation is next. I love having this group to talk to. I always find new questions and they always get answered which helps the fears.

Big hugs fellow survivors..we shall overcome.

Kirsty - adding my best wishes for clean margins tomorrow. Go get 'em.

Marlegal - I can't top Elimar's dancing elephant but 8 years - wow. Keep doing whatever you're doing. You are so supportive of everyone on here.

I only saw the bits shown on the local news of Miley Cyrus and it almost put my eyes out. My DD is too old (26) for the Miley Cyrus (20) era so I don't know the innocent stage. I did see the crowd reactions on a Yahoo news story and they weren't good reactions.

Finally got bone scan results this afternoon. No metastasis but "lots" of degenerative changes. Don't know what that definition means. Will get copy tomorrow when I go to BS for followup. Oh, he has punted my care for the costo. to PC doc. I think I will drop a copy of scan off at my gyno who is in the same building. I think someone is going to have to light a fire for some bone builders.

I like the animated Mr. Clean now. He's not so scary.

luv - Hooray for no mets!!!! Boo for degeneration.

I must be outta the loop on the whole Miley Cyrus thing. I have no idea what you are talking about.

Welcome Kirsty - count me in on the well wishes for clean margins.

Luv, thank you...that was sweet :)

Barsco, short version...video music award show sun night, Miley did a gross dance that most of the audience found gross, not sexy. Google it at your own risk!

Welcome Kirsty...you'll find that we dish out a healthy dose of humor with our advice!

Eph, sorry for the gap in posts. Hate when I'm the one who stumbles in during one of those.

luvmygoats, hooray for your clear scan...the other is just their way of saying you aren't a spring chicken anymore and got the arth-a-ritis in yo' bones.

Welcome, IrishDancingMom!  Hope those results tomorrow give you something to dance about!

degenerative changes just means the wear and tear of aging and use, AKA, arthritis.  In other words, normal for not being 18 any more!

Frowndegenerative, normal for those of us over 50..........

Hi everyone, I have missed you all. I have been on the Aromasin roller coaster ride from hell. I hate this drug !!! The first week I was totally crazy. I wanted to lunge at peoples throats. I was very mean to the lady who works for me and I didn't even care. I have been so hot I think I might explode, sweat like a waterfall, want to cry one minute or kill someone, depressed, sick to my stomach, and just plain blahhhh..... I want off this drug.

I see I have missed some pocket parties too. Another reason to hate this dam drug !!!! I was so excited to open the bakery and now I just want to run away, but not sure where. Business has been good, but I can barely get up the energy to get out of bed. This all sucks. I can't imagine that this is what I have to look forward to.

I hope everyone is doing ok. Eli, are you done with chemo???? I hope so.

Diana, good to hear from you, though I'm sad you've been having such a hard time! I wish I could fly cross-country and help you out somehow. I know you will hang in there because you are a tired but tough warrior. Hope it helps to know we are all cheering for you!

Oh Dianarose - damn SEs. I am sorry that they are causing such trouble for you. How long have you been taking the Aromasin. Do you suppose there is a chance that the SEs will wane after a while? I hope so - you have worked so hard to get your bakery up and running. It is not fair that you aren't enjoying it. Sending ((hugs)) and best wishes for better days ahead.

Barsco- I have been taking it for 2 weeks or so. I don't know if swithching to a different one will make a difference.

Jeannie- I love to see your smile. I hope you are feeling better since the last time I was here. I did see the ps and she said I need some fat grafting, but not sure if I even want to bother. I am sick of the whole thing at this point.

I named the place Queen of Tarts, but tarts didn't sell so well. Scones and home made bagels are the big sellers.

Diana, you have so much going on, with stress levels through the roof...that has to add to the se's too. By and large I think Aromasin has fewer se's than many of the other choices so I hope your body/system acclimates to the meds. I had a much harder time on Tamox than Aromasin. Hugs sweetie. I'm looking forward to hearing that you started mail order...I love scones!

hi all, I have been having issues with all my electronic devices. I would like to throw them all in the ocean but then I couldn't talk to you gals.

E, how you feeling? Are you still going ahead with the last few txs?

Congrats marl and luv (even tho the arthritis in the bones is not much fun.)

Drose, man oh man, the trouble with running your own business is not being able to take time off. I feel for you. I had a hard time on arimidex.  I stuck it out almost a year, now I am switching to tami. Which means switching some other meds. Sheesh before bc I barely took an aspirin. Anyway, I admire you and your successful venture. I hope you can get a balance between work and taking care of yourself. Delegate, delegate. The hormone swings are awful. Beware anyone who gets in the way. I had a friend who called my AI, the bitch pills. LOL

    barsco, still on vacay?

I am having a hard time believing it is the end of August. Where did the summer go? Or yeah, I spent it laying around and at dr appts.

My DD is visiting for a while so she is keeping me amused. That and my puppydog. We're watching the Great Gatsby. ooooh what excess!

    (((((Hugs)))) for all.

DR-I'm on the Femara thread.  Sometimes when 1 AI doesn't work & folks switch to another, they have great results.  I would hope that you would have a leveling off of SE once you've had the bitch pill in the system for a month or so.  I'd say if after 2 you are still in a major upheaval you think about switching.  That's my 2 cents worth.

I personally can't wait for fall to be here officially! It's always been my fav!

Happy Friday everyone!!  Wishing you all a fantastic day and a terrific weekend!

mac - I am still on "holidays" for another 3 weeks at least. I am truly feeling better without the stress of going to work and dealing with the public everyday. Enjoying the time with DH and just relaxing. Glad you are enjoying time with DD.

We are hosting a BBQ tomorrow for family and friends to celebrate (early) my turning the big 5-0 this year (October). Holding it early in hopes that the weather cooperates with a wonderful warm sunny day. Nothing really over the top - just a backyard BBQ to enjoy a day with everyone.

    Be well my friends!!
