Gorgeous day today - 50 and sunny. It should be nice most of the week. DH and I didn't walk tonight after dinner - I'm tired and he's just finally feeling better, but I did make my minimum daily steps goal. We did walk when I got home from work, which I try to do to decompress from the work day.

Ruth - love the photo of the pups and the two of you in red coats. DH is feeling better today. He went early this morning for his PCR and is waiting on results. He should have them tomorrow. If he is positive, I'll home test, but so far I"m not having any symptoms, thankfully! I'm tired, but that's because I don't sleep well.

I finally got my 10 year pin - only 2.5 years late!!! I've been with the district since 2009. Not sure if I'll get to 15 years....14 yes but 15 is iffy. DD#2 has 3 more years to go till she graduates, but I don't know if I can last 3 years. Mondays are getting harder, since winter break. There is time to tell. February 1st is the deadline each year to get a bonus if you tell the district you are retiring the end of the school year. But it's one year at a time. I don't feel old till I realize that I graduated with my BA and MS before many of my co-workers were born - never mind that my two older kids are older than the younger co-workers and this years intern cohort is only a year old than my youngest. I'm not getting older, it's just that the newbies are getting younger and younger!!

Sweet dreams. Stay safe and stay healthy.

No posts today. Sure hope everyone is well and just busy.

Husband’s PCR came back negative so no Covid😃. Not sure what virus but he is feeling better.

Continued nice weather. Enjoyed 25 minute walk at lunch. Then walked with DH when I got home and again after dinner.

Sweet dreams. Stay safe and stay healthy

Glad the Covid test came back negative, Karen!

I had a haircut this morning, met a friend for lunch, chopped ice off the driveway, and went to Barre Sculpt & Zumba. The temperature was still nice but the wind was howling.....the forecast is for 'unsettled weather'......yikes, here we go again!

Karen: thank goodness for your dh's negative test!

saltmarsh: you have really been through it. That's very kind of you to take in your neighbor's son.

    Ruth: Best WWW picture yet!

Hi Everyone. My dd tested positive for Covid the Sunday before last. Couldn't believe it! She works at our local health department and is most definitely vaxed and boosted. Thank goodness she is! Had to isolate for a week. Had a low grade fever for a couple of days, some congestion, some cough, very tired, lost her taste and smell. Her main problem was the fatigue. All has improved and she's back to normal. I met her tonight for a 35 minute walk.

My unvaccinated 78 year old bil (he and my sister live in another town) didn't fare so well when he got covid about the same time dd did. He had to go to the hospital twice. He developed symptoms first and a day later my vaccinated sister developed symptoms. She was very sick for a few days but improved. The first time my bil was in the hospital (my sister had to call 911) he was given O2 and only stayed 12 hours or so. Home health set him up with an O2 tank. His breathing and overall health worsen within a few days after returning home and my sister had to call 911 again. This time he stayed in the hospital for a week. He's home now and improving. Unfortunately I don't think he'll get vaccinated. He has his "researched" reasons why he won't. I think he was very lucky this time. There is no reasoning with him.

This exact story is being told every day. Vaccinated people can get covid but will have milder symptoms and more than likely not be admitted to the hospital. NOT the same for unvaccinated people. I just don't know what part of this story my bil doesn't understand.

I've been walking/running regularly. Tomorrow and Saturday the high will be 67 degrees. It will feel springlike!

I am being driven crazy by the non-vaccinated as they are screwing it up for us all. GRRRR! My N.C. sister is one of them, so who knows when we will ever see her again. It makes me so sad.

I went to Pound this morning, Barre Sculpt & Dance2fit tonight. I tripled up because I don't think I will have time for formal exercise tomorrow & maybe not Saturday either. I'm now watching the Olympics and listening to the wind blow!

mask mandates in the schools end in 2 weeks. They are going to be strongly encouraged but we know that means zero!!' Not happy about it.

Off to the shower, then going to donate blood. Have a great Friday.

It’s now Friday evening- a brief update. Snow and cold by me. Supposed to get anywhere from 2" to 5". We need the moisture to have water this summer. Have a good weekend

Very, very cold here & icy too. After 5 tries, I finally found a jacket that fits Bruno (with his short hair, he gets cold pretty fast). He is quite humiliated to have to wear it, but I think he looks sporty! I cleaned the whole house & danced with Marshall Fitness on utube last night to finish off my steps. I'll maybe do an indoor walking DVD today.

Ruth I think Bruno looks just fine in his jacket. I hope he perked up about it once he was outside. Doesn't he understand his mom is looking out for him? Too cute.

We went right out & had a play-date with the neighbor dog so he forgot about it (once I tucked in the hood as she was grabbing & trying to drag him around with it. I did a couple miles with the indoor walking DVD.

Actually watched the Super Bowl. Great game. Best ad was the Dorito one. And of course as always the Clydesdale.

Happy Monday. Nice weather today and tomorrow, high 50s then 30 degree drop on Wednesday and snow

Happy Valentines everyone...had my annual mammo this morning, all clear or at least Bi-Rads 2, "see you in a year". Results posted before I could travel the 5 miles from the imaging center to my office!

After 70 degrees on Saturday we have a slight dip, 20's this morning, 40's this afternoon, but it will be hard to produce any more real snow events here in SE Virginia as we seesaw between 2-3 days of warm and then a dip. Went to bed before the end of the game, but did enjoy the commercials. My 5:00pm yoga class last night was only at half capacity, but I was still home in time for the beginning of the game...

On to the week ahead. TT

Congratulations on the 'All Clear', TT!

We just watched the game at home so I missed out on the junk food aspect. My favorite commercial was Walter the Cat. DH and I decided that we're too old to be in the target audience for the halftime show. Give me Prince in the Purple Rain anytime!

Pound this morning. We're going out to dinner tonight. Happy Valentine's Day everyone! 🥰

My favorite half time show was Sir Paul many, many years ago. To be sure I wasn't imaging it, I googled and here is what I came up with - now these are my type of musicians. Going even further in the history books, we had the pleasure of seeing these popular chart-toppers put on the show of a lifetime: Bruce Springsteen (2009), Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers (2008), Prince (2007), The Rolling Stones (2006), Paul McCartney (2005), Aerosmith and NSYNC (2001), Diana Ross (1996), Michael .

3-6" snow still predicted for Tuesday night into Wednesday. I'm guessing it will have to be really bad to get another snow day - we've already had 2 this semester.

Everyone stay safe and stay warm.

Happy Valentines Day! Busy day at school today; excitement was the name of the game. No problem hitting 10,000 steps today.

This weather is crazy! We had a sunny 60 degrees on Saturday and got 10 inches of snow Sunday into this morning.

    Bruno looks so cute, Ruth!

Congrats on the clear test, TT.

Karen- I believe our mask mandate in schools will most likely be gone at the end of the month. Mixed emotions about it as I am so ready for normalcy and not being the mask police but am still concerned for my preschoolers who can’t be vaccinated yet.

We watched the game at home and enjoyed the commercials and halftime show. It’s not really my preferred music but some of my (younger) work friends were super excited about the walk(dance down memory lane

Ginger 60 degrees one day and snow the next sounds just like CO weather. I hear your concern for the under 5 I’d worry too and I’m still worried with middle school I’m guessing most kiddos won’t wear them as they aren’t wearing them properly now

I’m covering in 6-8 grade middle school so Valentines Day is very different than elementary school. Kids could pre-order cards with candy to be delivered- student council activity. Saw groups of kids doing this. No class parties.

    Have a great Tuesday

I remember all those superbowl half time shows as well...and after 10 minutes and not feeling the love of this year's performance, we have a new smart TV and I asked it to play Lady Gaga's halftime show from a few years ago and viola, a whole new show of your own making!

DH and I went out for V'Day dinner...the first time we have eaten out since his b'day in early December. It was nice and uncrowded...may have to be brave again, sooner.

We walked to the restaurant and enjoyed the early (nearly) full moon. Cold here this morning...19...in our seesaw weather is that the see or the saw?

Shift & Lift this morning. I will do Barre Sculpt also. We are invited to DS's for dinner. He & his GF have gotten into cooking; which is amazing to me as he was a guy who basically lived off pizza & fast food ever since he's been on his own.

Have to say this year's half-time show was not my cup of tea. Karen1956 - Agree with you wholeheartedly on the prior half-time shows you mentioned.

Sadly, our Bengals did not win the game, but the fans gave them a great welcome home just the same.

Did Yoga, Barre Lates (combo of barre & pilates), a lovely 15 min meditation and have Bodyweight Boot Camp & Zumba Gold coming up later.

Our weather is bouncing between 52 today 61 tomorrow, 59 on Thurs and then two days of cold and back up again on Sun. Dentist appointment tomorrow & not looking forward to it as I have a cracked cap.

Celia, the Bengals played a great game. I was cheering for them. My brother lives in Cincinnati since the early 80s and my late parents lived there from 74 to 2001 when they retired to S. Fl.

Snow is coming in earlier than originally predicted. Supposed to start mid day through the night and get up to 8”. Hope the after commute home isn’t too bad.

Stay safe, stay warm. Have a good Wednesday.

Here's today's Walking Women picture. The guy with us works at the Activity Center where we wlpk in the winter. He is always very jolly and takes our pictures for us. We gave him a box of chocolates for a little thank you.

Tomorrow I take off for a Girl Friends vacation in Florida. 2 friends & I fly down and stay at the condo of another friend near West Palm Beach. We all met when I was a first year teacher back in 1975. So when I say we are old friends, I do mean OLD! Hopefully we can avoid all the storms, flights are on time etc. etc. Once we arrive, it will be a nice & relaxing week.....I foresee lots of walking on the beach!!
