Ruth: Hope your elbow stops hurting. Wonder if Advil would help. I have not watched much of the funeral.

Karen: Hope your procedure was uneventful. So happy for you with your dd coming this week!

    Walk/ran this evening.

Survived the colonoscopy. No polyps, yet still on 5 year schedule as considered "high risk". New GI doctor so first time we met was in the procedure room. I brought up my chronic constipation and he said to schedule an appointment in the office!! Seems each time I have one, it is harder to rebound. My first one 15 years ago was a piece of cake. Don't remember 5 years ago, but today it took several hours to feel relatively back to normal.

My brother is still in the ICU. I messaged him this afternoon and he said he is "making slow progress" but they are breathing for him till he recovers - meaning bipap or high flow O2. Really worried and his wife is pretty worn out. No need for me to go to Ohio as I would only be in the way.

Recorded the funeral - will watch another time.

    DD#2 arrives tomorrow :)

    Have a good Tuesday.

Glad the colonoscopy came back clean, Karen. I'm on the 5 year plan too. A friend of mine in her mid-70s was told her next colonoscopy would be her last. She didn't know if that was a good thing or not since they think you are too close to dropping dead to make it worth your while!!!

Wonderland, I do take an Advil when I go to bed, but don't want to mask any discomfort during the day to keep myself from overdoing things (rest is the only 'cure). It may be the last summery temperature day of the season here. Since we can, DH, Bruno & I are taking off for a hike at a State Park.....or maybe a county park. I should be back in time for Zumba tonight.

Ruth: I had weird back spasms the other night and had to get up from bed to take Advil. Thankfully it worked and I was able to sleep. And luckily didn't need any the next day.

Karen: Hope your brother is starting to feel better.

    Walked/ran this evening.

Ruth - gorgeous scenery. The aspens are starting to turn gold, seems early for me. I still miss the changing deciduous trees from the midwest and east coast.

A little annoyed with the endocrinologist. Through the patient portal she share the results of labs and her recommendations which was all good. So I wrote her back to see if she had shared information with my oncologist. She said she would forward labs and notes, but it felt to me that if I hadn't asked, she would not be sending them. Since she has the opposite view regarding Prolia than my oncologist, I especially want him to have the information. Got the Rx switched to mail order as it is $60 less. It was turning into a big hassle, but I messaged my PCP and she first thing in the morning faxed the Rx to the mail order pharmacy and they will ship it to the PCPs office. Makes so much more sense than for me to have to get it at the pharmacy.

My brother message me this morning that he made great progress yesterday and that the doctors listened to him. Big change from his message Monday afternoon, so feeling a little less worried.

Today was supposed to be the last day of 90s. Cooler the next two days with rain - other than recess at school, happy for the rain.

    Sweet dreams.

High 70 today with chance or rain - little cooler and same for rain.

Went to bed at 10:30 ready to fall over then in bed wide awake - so get up, go to family room and what do i do - M and M's and Triscuit. This habit of eating has to STOP!!! Eventually fall asleep and get back into bed and up even before alarm at 4:45.

Today is already set to be a whopper of a day at work.

Need yo get my menu planned for RH which starts Sunday night as well as for the rest of the week. I have menu was last year, but need to see what to keep and what to change. Cooking will be Friday and then Sunday - no time o cook in advance.

    Have a great Wednesday.

Cooking is a lot of work! I had told our friend whose wife has ALS that we'd bring over a meal today. Since I knew I wouldn't have time to put things this morning, I cooked all evening and was exhausted by the time I finally was done!! I know why I don't make old-fashioned meals very often anymore!

Here's the Wednesday Walking Women. It was a brisk 42 degrees this morning.

After 2 days of rain and mid 50s, it is warming up again to low 80s and high 70s for the next 10 days.

Work is still crazy busy. Still not seeing all my kiddos on my caseload due to continued high fliers and crises. So far behind in paperwork. But just doing the best I can. Trying not to stress about it. I said to the secretary yesterday that the gal I'm covering for must be way more organized than me and secretary said NO. She said she has never seeing a year like this one and she has been at the school for at least 20 years. I feel bad for the gal coming back from leave - only 5 1/2 weeks - she will be in for a shock!!! Hopefully by then I'll have all the paperwork done.

Usually Friday routing, grocery, cooking and cleaning. Plus enjoying DD#2.

My brother is still in the hospital. Today i his 69th birthday. Need to get an update. Last one was Wednesday. He has now been in the hospital for 2 weeks.

Need to schedule my Covid and Flu vaccine. Will wait till DD leaves and the. holidays are over in case I have a reaction, though no reaction with the first 4.

Have a great Friday and week-end.

I hope that you get good news on your brother's condition, Karen. Very concerning, that is for sure. So glad DD#2 is home. I know you will enjoy your time together. I typically get my flu shot mid-October. I think I will hold off on the next Covid booster until closer to Christmas. The Time Magazine had an article by a doctor urging people to wait until 6 months (not 2) after your second booster to get the Omicron one, which made sense to me.

I went to Dance2fit last night. Today I think I will do an hour long toning DVD, and I know that I need to clean my house!

Karen: I am keeping your brother in my nightly prayers. So glad your dd is home. Children are good for our souls.

Ruth: Always love your WWW pictures!

The wedding is next weekend and I've already had a friend and her dh say they can't come bc they have covid. My friend has an autoimmune disease and even though she's feeling better now, her doctor told her NO Crowds. Besides, they are both weak from it and I certainly want them to get back to full health.

I have been having a bit of vertigo in the mornings when I sit up from sleeping for the last 5 days. Went to the doctor to get a prescription. I CANNOT be sick. Already feeling better. Will see how the morning is.

Wonderland, make sure to take little breaks for yourself in the upcoming week. Find some ocean sounds (or whatever is peaceful for you) online, sit back, listen, and clear your mind for a few minutes every day. Sad about your friend not being able to come to the wedding.

My Yoga Strength class has been canceled, so maybe I will do a yoga DVD at home. Dog walking later.

Wonder - hard to believe that the wedding is just one week from now. As Ruth said, take care of yourself.

My brother is out of ICU, but still in the hospital and hoping to go home the beginning of the week. He is now on 2 liters of O2 which is way less than before.

Lots of cooking to do tomorrow - it looks like its more than it is as more than one thing can cook at a time. Just need to be organized. DD wants to go to Costco so we will go when it opens - which means I need to start cooking early so I have a few things done before we go.

    Have a good Sunday

Good luck with all the cooking, Karen. Glad your brother is finally doing better!

It was such a beautiful day here yesterday that I spent most of the day outside. My dirty, dusty house is (unfortunately) calling for some attention today. I will go to Reset Yoga tonight.

Karen, hope you had a wonderful holiday.

Wonderland, thinking of you this busy week. I hope the weather won't affect your plans too much.

Here's the Wednesday Walking Women. It's the local college's Homecoming week (you can probably guess their colors are orange and black), so we walked around their campus. Later today we will take off for a long weekend in the Minneapolis area. We have a family reunion on Saturday but are going early to spend some time with my brother & SIL.

Wonder - hope the weather isn't impacting you. Have fun on Saturday. So exciting.

We went to a Minnesota Twins baseball game and took a nice walk around my brother's town yesterday. Today we are going to an Arboretum with miles of trails so I will get my exercise walking around there.

Wonder - how was the wedding? I'm sure the bride radiated beauty as well as the mother of the bride.

Watched Mrs. Smith goes to Paris. DD#2 and I enjoyed the movie. We went to Costco this morning (second time in less than 2 weeks, but last time this trip) and after lunch (at home) we went for a mani/pedi together. It was so nice to spend the day together. I love mom/daughter time with my girls. The last week of her visit will go by all too quickly.

I hope you are done with all the loose ends, Wonderland, and are napping today!

Enjoy this week with your daughter, Karen. It will go much too fast!

I had such a nice long family weekend. Thursday we went to a Minnesota Twins game with my brother & SIL (something my family did every summer when we were growing up, so it is rather a sentimental journey for me). Friday we spent 4 hours (20,000 steps) wandering around the wonderful Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. Really a fabulous place! That evening we went to a performance of Footloose at a Dinner Theater & that was fun too. Saturday was our family reunion picnic. It was a little chilly, but a wonderful day of reconnecting with family. I was especially glad that my 88 year old aunt (whose husband died last spring) was able to attend and had a good time. Sunday we stopped & spent a couple hours with one of my oldest friends on our way home. Today I went to Zumba and have been trying to catch up from being gone. It is supposed to freeze later in the week so I need to get all my outside stuff done.

The wedding was successful despite the weather! We were very lucky not to have the destruction that Florida has from Hurricane Ian. By the time it came to where I live on Friday it was a tropical Storm. Blowing rain, wind and gusts up to 55mph. Here's a short rundown of the weekend. Dd had wanted the 4 bridesmaids to spend the night at our house Friday night in the basement on blowup beds. That had been planned all along. I bought beautiful flowers from a flower farm in the county. During the day on Friday I made dd's bouquet and the boutonnières and the girls made their own bouquet and 16 center pieces. GORGEOUS! We decided to cancel the rehearsal and dinner on Friday night bc of the weather. Safety first. So I cooked dinner for 12 people (I had anticipated this happening and was prepared.) One bridesmaid is married and lives in a nearby city. Her husband and 4 year old were over for dinner. They went home and their power was out. Couldn't get in the house without power (long story why) so back they came to also spend the night! Had 10 people spend the night here! I made pancakes Friday night to have them ready to eat on Saturday morning, wedding day. We were lucky that the power stayed on. So many without power. We were also fortunate that the weather improved somewhat on Saturday. The winds were much calmer and rain was misty or none at all. The wedding was beautiful! Dd was so happy! We had a great time! One of the bridesmaid flew in from Fresno, California. She called yesterday to tell me she tested positive for Covid today. Keeping my fingers crossed that no one at the wedding gets it.

I didn't take pictures but friends have sent some to me. I'll post more later, especially the professional ones.

This is a picture taken at the flower farm when I picked the flowers up. The ladies who grow these are in their 90s. The flowersimage are gorgeous and made beautiful arrangements and bouquets.

Wonder, the flowers are gorgeous. The Friday night sleepover sounds fun. Glad the weather cooperated. You sure are organized!

Ruth - family reunion week-end sounds like a fun time for all.

I have my beginning of the year conversation tomorrow morning and I have not completed anything that needs to be done. Too tired to do it now and I don't have time in the morning before the meeting. Oh well. It's a new evaluator this year and I know the person but not well. I tried to find last years BOY, but couldn't find it in my paper files. I guess I need to check the google drive.

Is a beginning of the year conversation a self-evaluation/goal setting type of thing? If so, I always wanted to write 'see last year's' on mine!

It was a gorgeous day yesterday.. DS, fiance, their couple friend (who just got married in August, in Canada (where she is from) after a three year delay since no one could get across the board), and their combined 4 dogs came over in the evening. We sat outside around the picnic table & visited while the dogs raced about until 10pm. Very fun.

I have a haircut/color this morning, more errands & yardwork to run this afternoon. Barre Sculpt & Zumba this evening.

A beautiful morning for a walk with the Wednesday Women. There is supposed to be a 30 degree temperature drop from today to tomorrow! Yikes! I will bring in my pots as it is supposed to warm up again, but the things in the ground are done for!
