    Thursday, May 22 was my mother's 90th B'day…Yeah!!!

Got to the gym late Thursday and at noontime on Friday.

A friend today told me she would be stopping chemo and after her Dr's 3 month "good times" would move to hospice…sad and reasonable at the same time. She has pancreatic cancer and the rounds of chemo have been brutal.

Prayers for Donna as she walks this path. Thanks to all, TT

Iam so sorry about Donna, TT. I have a friend who is also making the continue with chemo or move to Hospice choice right now, and another friend whose 40 year old daughter has just been diagnosed with metastatic cancer. Devastating.

I went on a long dog walk in the morning & another tonight. I spent the rest of the day transplanting perienels from the side to the front of my house. They were getting crowded where they were & if they survive, I won't have to buy as many annuals. I am tired from all that fresh air!

TT and Ruth: I'm sorry to hear about your friends. So sad. I will add them to my prayers.

I walked Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The rain started yesterday and will continue through Friday with occasional breaks. Yesterday during one of the breaks dh grilled hamburgers for Memorial Day. I've been staying busy while working on some projects and just a bit of house cleaning. Need to do a lot more cleaning but I would rather work on projects.

Thanks, Wonderland. There is so much sadness in the world.

WWW walked downtown today, where there was a nice Memorial Day display. I went and bought a bunch of annuals and have been planting and watering ever since. It's beautiful out, so being outside is a treat. We'll take a dog walk in awhile, and take DS & DIL out to dinner for his birthday. It was a beautiful day with all the lilacs in bloom the day he was born. 🥰

Happy Birthday to your ds, Ruth!

Rain again today. This morning I had a molar extracted so I've been taking it easy. My tooth was so full of filling that when some of it came loose and fell out there wasn't much of my tooth left. Now it needs to heal and then I'll decide if I want to get an implant. Ugh.

The constant rain and mid-60's has made this week miserable. The heat has been turned off of my building at school for annual maintenance…usually not a problem but this year the building has started to get really "cold" at least for me, the office being 68 doesn't feel good.

Got to the gym Sunday/Tuesday/Wednesday so far this week…it was closed on Memorial Day

We will hopefully see the Sun on Sunday, which will be a whole week without! TT

Ouch Wonderland, with the time, pain, and expense, I think I'd only get an implant if it were a front tooth!

TT, I could never live in Washington or Oregon because I start going stir crazy when it's been cloudy & rainy after a few days! We have been having unusually gorgeous weather, which is such a treat! HIT this morning & Dance2fit tonight.

My Friday morning Pilates/Stretch teacher is off for the summer, so I tried a Circuit Training class….hard & not that fun, but no doubt good for me. A dog walk and more yard work this afternoon. I need to close all the windows tonight because smoke from the Canadian wildfires is supposed to get here by tomorrow morning &bwe will have smokey, unhealthy skies.

Yoga, walked, planted flowers & put some in pots. Very, very smoky all day….you could taste the air. Yuck! I hope the wind comes up & blows it away!

Got to the gym 5 times last week…woohoo…it has been months since I did that!

I, too, have some gym class changes for the summer. One of my stretch and core class is moving to strength and core (adding small hand weights). Agree, it will be hard, but good for me.

Happy June everyone, the sun has returned to Virginia! TT

Our whole weekend was brutal with the combination of heat & smoke. Today is much better because it's cooler and the wind has picked up. In fact, it started to rain while we were on our dog walk. I'll do a weight lifting classes tonight.

Well, I signed up for Silver Sneakers today. Discussed areas of concentration: increase % of time I can pedal my electric bike, treadmill, and the elastic ropes for strengthening my right leg especially for ease in standing up from sitting on the floor.

Walked Tippy once, took him over to the fairgrounds for his intensive exercise. He had a good checkup. The tooth they removed last fall was the wrong one. Now he is on amoxicillin for an infection. He is eating his Dentastick by Pedigree now when he gets his crushed meds in Braunschweiger in the morning, so he must be feeling better. He had been saving it for later. I gave him an "ouch owie" button, and I grabbed his lower jaw this morning and rubbed my fingers on both sides and he didn't react, so he is doing better.

Glad you have signed up for Silver Sneakers, mcbaker! And that Tippy is doing better. Bruno has another Boot Camp on Wednesday. He is making progress and I HOPE he can get back to more of a normal life by sometime this summer!

TT: It's taken awhile for the sun to shine but it finally has. Your new classes sound wonderful.

Ruth: Stay safe from the smoke. It sounds brutal. I feel really sorry for people with COPD or other lung problems. Must be very difficult.

McBaker: Dh and I have discussed signing up for SS. Poor Tippy getting the wrong tooth removed. I had one removed last week and would be furious if the wrong one was extracted.

Between the rain and taking easy from my tooth, I haven't done any formal exercise. On Friday night I was supposed to go to an outside concert fundraiser with live beach music but it's been postponed due to rain. Saturday night my sil invited me to a private showing of Hamlet at one of her friend's house. They are both Master Gardeners the friend's yard is huge and absolutely beautiful. She has a pond, gardens throughout, goats, and a mule. It rained a little during the outside performance but we were under a tent. I don't know how the actors memorize all the Shakespeare dialog. Just amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Was going to walk today but in the middle of the night I got sick (yuck) so taking it easy today. Quoting Scarlett, Tomorrow is another day!

Ruth, we were posting at the same time. Bruno was born to run and I'm happy to hear he has been making progress.

Finally got outside and walked early this evening after doing very little this morning. Really need to start uncluttering my house (too many stacks of things that I haven't addressed). If I write it down I'll feel more obligated to get to work!

Dance2fit, dog walking, Core, and yardwork. We have two Silver Maple trees in our yard. They drop their seed pods every other year & this is the year. Our yard had a carpet of seeds from one end to the other. DH raked & I bagged. We are now sitting here moaning that our backs hurt, like the old people we are! 🤪

Ruth: My next door neighbor has a silver maple in their yard. I pull up little seedlings all the time. They had 2 but one fell down in a storm. It was near our driveway and barely missed my car.

Walked early this evening. I also put away some of my clutter only to realize I need to go through cabinets and sort through things. Sounds like a good project on rainy days.

Got to the gym Sunday and Monday and today was Tai Chi. On track for 5 days again this week, yeah!

Be careful in the smoky conditions. Two years ago was the first I remember of the Canadian wildfires so bad at this time of year and the accompanying smoke conditions. I didn't go to my college reunion in upstate NY 2 years ago this week (40 years 😁) as the smoke was in the dangerous levels and we stay in dorms without A/C so even inside you are breathing the outside air (windows open for circulation)

Got my 90y.o. mom to the cardiologist yesterday…which is a big effort…but he said she is so stable with her heart problems (I guess good/bad, but I'll take the good perspective) that she no longer needs to see a specialist…he will stand ready to see her if need be, but as long as the meds are doing their job, no additional items are needed. Woohoo!

Happy mid-week. Friday is my 33rd wedding anniversary…how have I been longer married than I was unmarried??? Best to all, TT

Happy Anniversary, TT. Our 37th Anniversary is next Wednesday, which doesn't seem possible! Glad that your mom doesn't need the specialist anymore, that IS good news!

Silver Maples are beautiful trees, the seed pods are not!

Bruno had his rehab boot camp today (in a town 75 miles away). After we dropped him off, we went for a long walk in a beautiful park, sat at a picnic table & read, had lunch with friends, and went shopping until it was time to pick him up. He is making progress, but it is SLOW!

TT: Happy Anniversary this Friday! Great news about your mother! Just stay the course is always good.

    Ruth: Slow and steady, Bruno.

Met dd for lunch today. It rained and it's predicted to rain for every day through next week. It stopped this evening so dh and I walked. It was so humid and a high dew point that I was not a happy walker.

I went to the Circuit class this morning, the instructor changed things up so it was actually fun (and also hard). Dog walking this afternoon. Tomorrow morning, I am walking in a charity 5K. The weather sounds nice & some of my friends are walking too; so it should be fun!

    Have fun tomorrow, Ruth.

Met my friend this afternoon to play Mahjong. Later dh and I walked.

Got to the gym 5 times this week, second week in a row…easier to do now that school is out. I have one more week when I think this will happen, but then some of the instructors start taking vacations, so I'll be back to 4 classes…maybe I'll try something new 😀

It's good to be forced into trying something new every once and awhile!

Here's the ladies at the race. 730 runners/walkers plus babies in strollers, puppies etc. This is an annual event to raise money for Women's Way, a program that pays for cancer for low income woman & also pays the difference between a 2D & 3D mammograms at our regional medical center for women whose insurance won't cover the 3D. All the money stays local.

TT: New can be very fun!

Ruth: That's amazing community support. And very rewarding to be a part of it.

I walked Saturday. Yesterday I went to a picnic - came home and took a long afternoon nap.

Today I met a friend who I haven't seen in several months. We walked and then talked for over an hour afterwards.
