Jealous, Nihahi!!!  I got to ski on Lake Louise once.  Beyond glorious.

I am hoping to get out on my skis this weekend.  I will if I can fit it in between work and also if the roads are passable.

Daffodils are coming up here in the lowlands.

Got in a wet 5k run this evening. - Claire

It's 6:35am and watching the sun come up. Daffodils and crocus sprouting up all over out here.  Thanks Ann, and it felt so heavy. Nihahi, enjoy the xcounty and from my pink pilates, some women do connect in a positive way with the Dr. I mentioned and I've met some, who like me, ran a mile. I'm grateful for the Dr. I did find (as a result, in another health trust) and she is remarkable.  Interesting aspirin info, thanks Ruth.  Does anyone clean with a steam cleaner rather than cleaning products?

Yesterday, freestyle step and body balance

Nihani, that is gorgeous scenery!  Taxes, yikes I just looked at the calendar.  I started several weeks ago then stalled out, have only a thin excuse of waiting on one form.  RuthBru, just seeing the word "leotard" gives me a hot flash.

Hooping today and very minimal weights, just enough to count as having done it.

A walk at lunch yesterday, and some classical stretch this morning - to the gym after work for some cardio.  Come on spring!

ROFL re: the leotard!  Nihah, those are breathtaking photos, and LilacBlue, you've painted an amazing sunrise picture for us.

    I got my workout in at 7:30 AM.  90 minutes = 10 miles (9 EFX / 1 treadmill).

Nihahi: Beautiful! You look so happy!

Not much outside exercise this week. We went from 72 degrees on Sunday to 18 degrees as the low on Monday plus a wintry mix. School let out early on Monday and had an late start on Tuesday. We are expecting more wintry mix tonight. Sleet has already started.

I've been active this week with things to do, but not aerobic activity. So today I finally powered walked in the house. I set the kitchen timer and then walk hard. I'll try to do my Leslie Sansone tape tonight.

I walked 8 flights of stairs at work today, walked to the other end of the building and did 4 more.  Then I walked 25 minutes after work in the cold.

Nihahi beautiful pictures.  I used to cross country ski but haven't done it in years.  This would have been the perfect year to dig out those skis with all this snow.

Lilac did you say daffodils and crocus - AHHHHHHH!

TwoHobbies, I still did not do them.  Got on the computer and the next thing I knew my eyes were getting heavy.  So not only no exercise yesterday but no taxes either.  Oh well, maybe get to taxes this weekend.

Nihahi, beautiful pictures.  I usually don't like snow but that looks so peaceful.  Have never done cross country skiing but might like to try just for that scenery.

Got to gym after work and walked/jogged on treadmill for 20 minutes then filled remainder of the hour with upper and lower body weights.  Almost talked myself into giving the spin class another try but chickened out.  Maybe next week!

    Night my sculpted friends.

I seem to be having a lasting episode of fatigue again.  I'm simply exhausted, even when I don't get up early to work out.  If I sit down on the sofa for more than 5 minutes any time during the evening I'm out like a light.  This too shall pass.  I still pack my gym bag every night and if I can drag myself out of bed I do go work out, but there have definitely been more skipped days than not lately......blech

SweetandSpecial:  I hear you!  Sometimes, your body just needs a period of rest, especially if you have been working out for months at a time with regular frequency.  If you are tired in the AM, it could have to do with the seasons changing, the pollen that is starting to appear, small changes in the environment or perhaps not getting a good night's sleep or going to sleep on a full stomach.

Something that might help you:  Even if you are tired, get up and go to the gym, without any expectation of yourself of how long you will be there or how intense you will work out.  Sometimes the pure pressure we place on ourselves or the sheer expectation we place on ourselves does us in physically and emotionally.  Just go through the movements and get there, and when you arrive pick out a machine that you like, or choose one that is next to someone that you like to talk to during your workout.  Or pick a machine that has a TV close to it, one that you can control the station.  Then just start exercising and see how far you get.  Many times I've noticed that when I've been too tired to drag myself to the gym, I go anyways (half asleep at times, eyes still half closed) and little by little, pedal by pedal it starts to revive me and give me energy.  I go for 5 minutes, and that turns to 15 and so on ... pretty soon, I'm halfway through and I think "I might as well finish the workout, so that I have less pressure on me the rest of the week".

Other things to try:  cup of hot green tea early in the AM to get you revved up or a little housework to get you awake, or a quick chat with a friend who can pump you up and get you ready to get out the door!  I have my tricks that work for me. Sometimes, I will plan it for when my husband is on his way home, and can he drop off a half sweet / half unsweet tea for me.  That is a big treat for me, and knowing that one is on its way gives me motivation to get it done.  Sounds silly, but if I know I'm going to get a treat, I will work out and get my miles in to feel not guilty about it.

Using a reward system has helped.  Some times, I've told myself that I can't go do 'such and such' until I get my workout in.  One time I promised myself a quick trip to the casino or a Black Angus $8.50 lunch, but I had to do a very good workout first.  LOL The reward with the casino required more things than just the workout though.  I had to clean the house, do the laundry, vacuum, clean the car, pay all the bills, make sure all my client work was ahead of schedule and then I let myself go.  That one was almost not worth it!  I was exhausted by the time I got there.  LOL

IBD too funny,  I'm going to Las Vegas in a couple of weeks and I can assure you the house can stay messy till I get backWinking LB I use a steam cleaner, I really like it I keep the long bendy spray nozzle attached to it as I find it easier, but I wish it had a window so you knew how much water was left.

Tonight I did a Spin class, then undid all the good by going to the Olive Garden after, oh well.....

Today in my garden I found this..... Sping is on the way

I'm enjoying the beautiful pictures and updates. Keep up the great work, Superwomen! Happy belated to Ruth!

Sidelined this week by some sort of upper respiratory bug. Can't stop coughing. Fever, stuffy nose. So no cardio. :-(

Going to do my new arm routine today and may try a few stairs. But mostly hoping for a really great nap!

    Happy weekend, everyone!

Just a tiny bit of a walk at lunch yesterday, enough to clear my head, but did go to the gym last night after work and did 30 minutes of walk/jog intervals.  Then hubby and I tried a new Thai place - excellent food, and so nice to go out instead of sitting in front of the tube.  We need to do more of that.  Some classical stretch this morning, but have a big crick in my neck/shoulder, must have slept wrong.  Patoo, I am always putting my taxes off - let's both see if we can knock them off this weekend.  I see my trainer tomorrow, going to give him the lymphadema handout and ask him to go easy on me! TGIF, what a long week this has been - have a great weekend everyone.

Beautiful pictures!  Nihahi - amazing scenery.  And Cheryl - love the flower.  DH is in LA visiting his parents.  He called last night and said it's very strange out there - his parents' front yard isn't all white, but instead the ground is covered with this odd green stuff.  And he could walk outside in his shirtsleeves without shivering.  Very strange country out there in LaLa Land.  Loopy

Thirty-one years ago I discovered a great way to make sure I get my taxes in early -  I married an accountant.Winking  Before that I was always one of those last-minute people looking for the Post Office that stayed open late on April 15th!

S&S - I'd have those fatigue crashes now and then when I was on AIs.  It was usually when I was trying to be more active and would overdo.  Fatigue management was a big part of AIs for me, but the longer I was on them, the better I got at it.  In the meantime, give yourself permission to rest up. And when you're ready, I like Inspired's idea of just promising yourself that you'll do 5 minutes.  If that's all you do, great.  If you do more, great.  Dulci - feel better!

90 minute yin yoga class Wednesday, and 30 minutes on the dreadmill yesterday.

IBD and NatsFan - thanks for the sympathy and support.  I've been on arimidex for 15 months now and this is the 2nd time I've had this fatigue hit. The first time was about a year ago which was just a few months after I started it.  I do not sleep well at all and haven't for several years (since the pre-menupausal hormonal changes started).  10mg of Ambien sometimes helps me sleep a little better, but sometimes it doesn't.  I think part of it is, as IBD said, I've been working out 5-6 days a week consistently since the first of the year, most of those days my arrival at the gym is around 5:40am.  Since I don't tend to sleep well I think it just catches up with me every now and then.  I love the folks in my group fitness class MWF and enjoy my 45-55 minutes of treadmill work the other days.  I don't beat myself up too badly when I'm tired like this but it is rather annoying.......

    Hi Everyone!

I have not read this entire article, looks like a very interesting read though. I was researching exactly how does exercise help reduce cancer risk. Here's an excerpt:

"In 1931 Dr. Warburg won his first Nobel Prize for proving cancer is caused by a lack of oxygen respiration in cells. He stated in an article titled The Prime Cause and Prevention of Cancer that "the cause of cancer is no longer a mystery, we know it occurs whenever any cell is denied 60% of its oxygen requirements."

"Cancer, above all other diseases, has countless secondary causes. But, even for cancer, there is only one prime cause. Summarized in a few words, the prime cause of cancer is the replacement of the respiration of oxygen in normal body cells by a fermentation of sugar. All normal body cells meet their energy needs by respiration of oxygen, whereas cancer cells meet their energy needs in great part by fermentation. All normal body cells are thus obligate aerobes, whereas all cancer cells are partial anaerobes."

Did my walk today and at least I get to report I wasn't frozen!  45 degrees and it feels like spring!  No it doesn't look like spring.  Still extremely snow covered but feels great.

Patoo, maybe we try the peer pressure like with exercise.  Let's both do 1/2 hour of our taxes this weekend.  We'll have them done by April 15 if we do a little at a time.

Good ideas on motivation for exercise.  I feel like its part of my prescription now and just like I would hate to go to bed without brushing my teeth, I know I should do my exercise.  It's too risky not to.  But I also do the 10 minute thing.  Just do 10 minutes and frequently you feel like doing more.  If not, its 10 minutes more than you would have done.

hi all and welcome Bluetail.  Gorgeous !! pix Nihahi.

Happy belated B-Day, Ruth!  You rock the tiara!

LB, try lemon oil on your glass shower doors.  Not sure it'll remove limescale but it smells great and soap suds slide right off so you avoid new film.

Haven't been on the board for a few days.  Tues date night @ our fave Mex place.  Weds had snow in a.m. and it took me three hours to get to work.  Ride home was OK but was exhausted and crashed hard on the couch.  Got to the indoor track last night and walked for an hour.  Tonight did 30 mins of p.m. yoga when I got home, to unwind from the week.  Now snacking on pita chips and hummus.  Oh and a lovely glass of Prairie Fume.

    'Night my sculpted Sisters!  ♥

Love the exercise motivation tips and will put to use.  I do feel like it's a prescription but I also sometimes put off filling them as well!  10 mins, yep, I can do that.

Ok, Two, will put in some time on taxes this weekend.  Actually once I get started I will probably go through and finish (don't like to leave things undone!)

I have very often 'whined' my way through exercise. If you feel 'blah' you can always do something lighter than normal, set a shorter timer (and then often one will keep going, but you don't 'have to'), or blast some music and just dance around the house for awhile.

Welcome Bluetail, now that you have 'unlurked' you will have to keep posting Happy.

I had quite a day at the school. They were so short of subs, they had me be TWO teachers.....too complicated to explain how that worked, but I can assure you that I DID earn my paycheck!!! 45 minutes on the treadmill when I got home.

A cold has caught DH, so I have banished him to the guest room......blah, I do not want to get sick too!
