Red - I am so sorry. I hope he passes peacefully. I am praying for strength and comfort for those who will be by his side as he does. God Bless.
4.5 miles on the treadmill last night. It was very hot in the gym and I missed being outdoors, but I ran anyway.

Oh Red, I'm so sorry. I can't even imagine what you and your family must be going through. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. {{{{gentle hugs}}}}

Half marathon+ today ... and all in by 9:30 AM!
10 miles/EFX (83 min) and 4 mile mountain hike/run (60 min) = 14 miles
Trying not to over-reward myself with a tasty treat! Had about 1/8 cup of mixed spicy nuts, seeds and variables and steel cut organic oatmeal.
Breast cancer news:
Last night on news, mammo tech in GA convicted of falsifying mammograms. During this investigation, it was found that over 1200 mammograms were falsified, she said it was done because she was behind in her work. Of those records, 12 women were told their results were negative, when in fact they did have breast cancer. 2 of the women have since died.
Today on the news, Samantha Harris just announced she will have mastectomy after a bc diagnosis. You might know, that Amy Kobach, news correspondent found out she had bc, after agreeing to undergo a mammogram at the request of the show's producer for a story to air live on the air. One week later, Samantha Harris had a mammogram for a lump she found. Mammo and 2 ultrasounds gave her the all clear. She knew something was not right, even though she felt great, she had a gut feeling, and 4 months later it was confirmed she did have bc. Even the biopsy came out negative initially.
Please google story if you are interested in it - I may have jumbled the last sentence, but do know it was a period of 4 months. Amy is in the middle of her treatment, and Samantha has not even started yet, and they had mammo only 1 week apart. They mentioned being your own advocate when you have a hunch on things, and that doctor's don't always know. The video is posted online.
Ladies, thanks for being here to support all of us - this is one of the warmest forums I have ever been on. I just wanted to thank you all for providing such encouragement and support. I really think it was due to all of you that I was able to continue on with the exercise this AM and reach my goal. I kept thinking of how you all do amazing things every day, and that perhaps I can be just a little like that!
Have a great day everyone!

Thank you all for your very kind words and feelings. I haven't heard yet, so will assume/hope he is still with us.

Did Core & Pilates....might go back and do Zumba tonight, due to the fact that our pilates teacher gave us little bags of pastel M&Ms for Easter..... and of course, I ate mine on the way home in the car!!
Glad to 'see' you Erin/Deb!
Wow, Inspired, what a great (early) morning you had! Yes, this is an awesome forum full of people that you'd want to be friends with under any circumstances! And yes, yes, yes, we absolutely need to be our own advocates!
Red, thinking of and praying for you and your family. Sometimes there is nothing else one can do or say........

Thank you Lilac Blue. And good work to you as well. I love pilates and yoga! Ruthbru, sounds like you love the classes as much as I do. Although I just can't get into Zumba. Looks like people love it though!
So excited our instructor told me about a yoga class she's doing at a different location this Sat. morning. That will be great!!! Today is a rest day. My left shoulder is a little PO'd at me for all that good work yesterday. Still a bit weak there post-op from my lumpectomy 8wks ago.
I have 11 more days until my next infusion and I'm going to work out as much as possible between now and then!

Not doing much cause of the "nip" thing, but have decided to go for a looooong walk tomorrow. Surely, that can't hurt anything.
Red....just so sorry.....sending hugs and prayers.
fyi...hugs to everyone else too. Just seems to fit the day.

Sorry Red. Prayers going up for the family during this difficult time.
Busy at work so lazy tonight but did march in front of TV for 1/2-hour with weights. Actually logged almost 2.5 miles for the day.
Night sculpted sisters.

Did Zumba so that I could eat the barbecued ribs I was making for dinner.
Here is a good quote for us to contemplate:

Oh Ruth, love the inspirational message. And forgot to mention that I loved your weekly group photo this week, taken in front of an ice cream shoppe! You ladies are quite clever. How long have you all been doing your Wednesday activity together? Is everyone in the group a bc survivor, or were you a bunch of friends first and then a few had bc?

Nihahi - err on the side of caution! After rads I went for a gentle but long walk and all the skin peeled off my nipple area. Obviously the skin was toast from rads but there seems to have been some friction I was not aware of during the walk.
Reds - Sending hugs and prayers.
Wednesday - 80 minute walk with hubby. Very enjoyable. Walked along the edges of some fields (I think I saw potatoes growing) and then through a neighborhood in the neighboring city. Amazing to see some very poor homes and some very wealthy homes. Made me very grateful for being in the middle.
Yesterday did a long drive to a beach - absolutely breathtaking with rock pools and calm clear water but no real exercise for the day. Still - very enjoyable.

Hello everyone. Back from vacation this afternoon. Ran 1.5 miles, did some stretching and weights and walked the dogs, then registered for a 5K, which I'll do with my daughter in the Dallas area next month.

Red - there are no words adequate at this time, just thoughts of love and support.
2 mile run before work this morning - a brisk 38 degrees, but I'll take that over warmer weather for running any day. Off to the cabin this weekend for the first time in a few weeks. I guess the bears are out of hibernation by now.

Inspired, we are a bunch of retired teachers. Two years ago, after the first 'batch' had retired, they started this walking club & when I looked at their Facebook pictures every week, I thought, "Argh! I have to retire, I am missing too much fun!"
.....lucky for me, it was time anyway as I had already taught for 38 years!!!! That three of us are BC survivors is just a coincidence....or is it, as we all taught in an old asbestos-filled building.....anyway.....we sure do have a lot of fun!Off to Insanity in a few minutes.

Ruth....lovely message and pic...thanks for sharing that.
bounce...I truly believe that "nourishing our souls" is just as important at times as exercising our bodies. We won't do well by ignoring either, eh!
Looks like mother nature is going to hinder my walking plans today....(a sign perhaps??) Freezing fog at the moment, with a snowfall/rain warning for later in the day...lovely.....juuuuuuust lovely.

Shoulder exercises done and planning a one mile walk after this post. Had my first PT appt yesterday and we're planning manual lymphatic drainage now...here's a link.

Prayers to all who need them, especially Red.

Red - my heart hurts for all of you who love that little boy. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Ruth - you find some of the best images!
Nats - I like your weather updates because then I know what my daughter may be dealing with too

Annie - just listen to you......casually mentioning a 1.5 mile run like you've been doing it all your life. Great job girl and good luck with 5K!

Not much for me yesterday but I'm off all day today and just got back from a walk that was just over 8,000 steps. I'll hop in my car later and check the distance. Stopped off at my gym as I walked by by to say hi to folks. I'm having another procedure next Friday (mudflap/dog ear removal) and will have another 6-week restriction on upper body work. I'm not sure how walking will work out with those incisions under the arms, at least at first, so I'll be working with one of my trainer friends there to develop something to keep active and not turn into a marshmallow again.
Love to all

My thanks to all of you for your good wishes and prayers. Gage is still with us today, when they pulled the plug, I guess he decided to stay a while longer. Maybe because of the outpouring of love and support headed his way.
Thursday is my gentle exercise day, so I decided to learn Latin dancing. The instructors were fabulous - even did a demonstration. All I can say is WOW! The best of our group was Isolda .... who is deaf! You never know what you can do until you try!

(((Red))) Gentle thoughts for you and family.
S&S, treatment does get in the way of exercise including forward momentum and terrific that you have a trainer friend to help. Celdv66, how is your overall recovery from surgery? Good for you Annie Lane and Mary enjoy your time away.
Freestyle step and body balance at the gym today.
Was going to run this afternoon yet dh is off work so he, dog and I did a long trail walk that starts just down the road from us, along a stream and fields of baby lambs and their mums and open expanse of the green, lush English countryside. Stunning, sunny clear warmish' here in the Kent hinterlands yet rain is to move in on Easter Sunday, so I'll get a run in tomorrow.

Red, I had a WOW today also. There is a lady I know (about 60 years old) who walks with 2 crutches due to a bout of polio as a child. She does some 5Ks (uses a wheel chair for them) and comes to different exercises at the YMCA when she has a day off; she doesn't ask for any special help or breaks, just modifies the exercises herself and participates as much as she can. Today she came to Insanity; and it was my turn to say WOW!
She and your dancing buddy remind me of a favorite quote: "It is what it is. It becomes what you make it."
I have to go make a grocery list, because (drum roll) at the last minute I have decided to cook Easter dinner..... the full truth is that I forgot to get reservations to the fancy brunch we usually go to & now the earliest we could get in is 2:45......we would be starved long before then!

After my colonoscopy/endoscopy last week, they gave me a number to call to get my biopsy results in two weeks. They said they'd only call if something came back positive. Sure enough, this morning I get a call from the doctor's office. The woman said, "We have the results of your endoscopy biopsy." I just braced myself, thinking will be esophageal or stomach cancer? She then said, "Your biopsy came back positive for h. pylori." I think she was startled when I burst out saying, "Oh, that's wonderful news!"
H. Pylori is a bacteria that causes stomach issues like ulcers - standard treatment is a few week course of antibiotics and most people are cured for good. Whew! I'll take that over cancer any day. No wonder I was having nasty heartburn issues!

NatsFan that is wonderful news!! Now you can get rid of the root of the problem and get better. {Happy Dance}

Hi Ladies! It really is Good Friday with all the wonderful news that is being shared on here today. It's nice to log on and see all the wonderful updates. Instead of chicken soup for the soul, it's updates for the soul.
Reporting in: 58 minutes - 4 mile mountain hike/run
Ruth, I might be doing the same thing as you, for the same reasons. LOL I hear that Costco has a precooked and sliced ham with glaze included. I am heading there now.
Talk to you soon ladies - wish all of you a wonderful day! If you are up against large crowds today at grocery stores, etc ... I think it should count as double points for exercise!

Ruth....you post such great messages....but the saying you added today really strikes true to the heart for me. I am borrowing it and adding it to my signature...with thanks.
Did a slow but peaceful 7+km walk in the foggy mist.....everything seems better now!
natsfan...congrats on the bacteria!!!!
Easter.....this year it's Chinese buffet!!!!! Nothing traditional about that for us, but.....it is what it is this year.!

Well......after that long walk this morning I put on my jeans and work boots and got busy outside. Anyone remember the old game 'pick up sticks'? I played that for a while then got out my leaf blower to clean winter debris off the deck (we have a pretty big deck) and also decided to blow all that stuff away that accumulates in corners and under bushes and so on. So, now I've got a lot of leaves blown away from the house and deck waiting for DH to suck them up with the big mower later today or tomorrow. When I refreshed my Fitbit dashboard just now I discovered I earned my first 15,000 step badge today!! I'm currently at 15,483 which fitbit says is 6.86 miles. Whoo hoo
! (heels are a bit sore from overdoing it, though
). I don't know why I just realized it today but after next Friday's procedure I won't be able to do much in the way of yard work during that 6 week upper body restriction period, doggone it, so I'm REALLY glad we had beautiful weather today.Ruth - I'll bet your home cooking is way better than a restaurant any day. Love the new saying - so true!
Inspired - I bought a pre-cooked honey glazed spiral cut ham yesterday. It will be just my DH, DS, DS's fiancé and me for Easter dinner. DDs boyfriend managed to get time to travel and spend the weekend with her out in Maryland, so I'm glad she won't be lonely.
Great news Nats!
Lilac - I love reading your updates, especially when you share little details about the sights and sounds and other cultural stuff where you live. I have this mental vision right now of a very bucolic English countryside postcard-worthy scene.
