Well, yesterday my connecting flight was so late that I missed my flight out of Minneapolis. Luckily my brother lives in the area so I spent the night with them and am now back at the airport trying it again. SIGH! It is seriously cutting into my Beach Time

Today my trainer time had to be cancelled because of AC issues. It's going to be in the 100s this weekend and I must have air!!! Still got walk in but can't have training time til Friday.

Odie's right - torrential storms at the ballpark last night. Lots of walking around the concourse during the rain delay, then they finally called the game around 9:30pm, so we had a long night at the ballpark for nothing. I don't mind for me as much cuz we go to so many ballgames, but I felt so sorry for people there who only go to one or two ballgames a year, or who made a trip from out of town to see the game.
Ruth - here's hoping you're winging away as I write this! LB - agree on Lance Armstrong and the other athletes who have been caught doping. My disillusionment came with a baseball player named Rafael Palmeiro - I had SUCH a crush on him for years - I had one of his jersey tees and used to get seats near the first base side just to see him close up (he was a first baseman with really nice buns
). Then he tested positive for steroids. Sigh.0 -
Ruth - safe travels!
Mary, a friend of mine was at the Nat's game, and she posted a beautiful double rainbow picture - did you get to see that?
The slug continues - I get home from work and don't feel like doing one thing except sitting somewhere cool. Did walk at lunch yesterday. Tonight is blues on the beach, so I'll get some dancing in for sure! Plus lugging cooler and chairs through the sand, got to count for something, right?

Combo bike ride and walk today. Feeling good.

Pat - gee, if I'd only known, I'd have said hi to your friend at the ballpark last night!
Yes, we saw the rainbows - the only good thing about the evening!Grabbed these pix from social media:
The storm:

The rainbows:

See all the people crowded into the concourses? That was us. Unfortunately, right after the rainbows gave us all hope, it began to rain again.

Wow Mary, it looks beautiful and scary at the same time.
Ruth, Ann, Sweetandspecial, recognize anyone in thos video?

Yes, Pat, lugging is your weight routine and dancing is exercise for sure. Enjoy.
Well pretty rainbow at least, but that storm looked a little scary.
Lance Armstrong. His legacy could have Tour de France competitor, cancer survivor, and Livestrong founder. That wasn't good enough. He had to "win" at all costs.
Yesterday I mowed for 50 minutes. Today I mowed for 25 and then went for a walk around the lake (30 minutes). Luckily the nice weather has returned and looks like it is due to stay all week.

Sorry, but no, I didn't recognize anyone but it was a great video. Which one are you Pat?
Ruth safe travels. Hoping the rest of your connections work out. Nice that you got to see your brother tho.
7800 steps so far today. Yesterday was woosie with only 7540 all day. Need to step up my game. My DH is considering c25k with me. I could do it if I had a partner. Yay.
Sorry but I can't see any more pages. I'm on my cell. But someone said they had completed week 3 and I want to congratulate them. Way to go!!!!!!
OK dinner time. Then off to walk the dog and cat.

Hi all. Ruth, hope you are finally in NC. Have fun with your sister and Kindergarten. Kindergarten, years ago we got caught on the Outer Banks in a hurricane. Couldn't get off because the high water put us on an island. Good thing we had several days left on our weekly rental and the water subsided and we were able to drive back.
Got in about 3300 steps. Think I will hop on treadmill for half hour to get more in. Then need to go up and put the clothing that's been sorted on the spare bed into the suitcase for my cruise next week - Yay!
Night my sculpted friends. Will try check in before I leave on vacation.

Lilacblue, wishing you huge success this weekend with the fundraiser!
Hoping Ruth is now on her way
Give Wonderland my best at lunch. Cheryl, there was way too much water in my world yesterday...ha ha. Sending you cooling thoughts!
Mary, agree with you as I hate it for those who don't regularly get to the games but am glad everyone was safe.
Patoo, have a great time on your cruise. Which cruise line/area?
Badger, congrats on the onc visit.
Exercise today was incline training on the treadmill. Will go to bootcamp tomorrow night then have lots of running around over the next few days to prepare for a birthday party for DH this weekend.
Have a great evening ladies...

Red when the girls were out here I took them to my Body Jam class, the very pretty redhead in the video is my Body Jam and Sh'bam instructor Jericho. I can confirm Ruth made it as she's posted a beach picture on FB. Congrats Badger. Patoo have a wonderful cruise, wish I could jump in your suitcase. LB sending very good wishes for your big weekend.
Did Sh'bam this morning and Spin this evening.

Nice walk at lunch yesterday - and beautiful night at the beach, though it was very high tide so it was crowded. Water still a little brisk for me! But what is better than sharing a meal and evening with friends outside listening to music. Did a little classical stretch this morning, but I'm so tired, just not sleeping at all at night. My MO was going to write me a scrip, but I told him no, since I'm not a big pill taker. My daughter suggested melatonin. Anyone have experience with that? I'm pretty sure this restlessness at night is a result of my AI, as I used to be a very good sleeper. Now I'm walking around exhausted most of the time.

Hello, checking in on my phone for just a minute. Yes, I finally arrived noon yesterday, we went right from the airport to the beach. Got in a really nice walk and some reading on the beach time before the sun went down. This morning I did a yoga on the beach class before breakfast, after breakfast we walked the beach again but now are trapped inside for awhile because there is a thunder storm going on. Hopefully it will pass through! Keep up all the great movin' and grovin'!!

Pat, just in general... my DD2 used Melatonin but didn't have much success with it, however, my dd1's doctor recommended it for her 14 year old who has ADD and ADHD and it seems to be working well for him. I have no experience with Melatonin and AI's though.
I did over 10,000 steps yesterday, plus weights and resistance training. Then to top it off, my DH agreed to try the c25k last night. So we did day 1 week 1 last night. I lost him at the first jog of 60 secs. After that he walked the dog, while I jogged and walked. By the end, I was sooooooo happy to see my house. I'm not a runner and found that it was brutal! Tonight, day 2!!!!

Pat - I can say without exaggeration that melatonin was a life changer for me. Chemo and AIs had completely destroyed my ability to sleep for more than a couple of hours at a time, and once I woke up, I couldn't get back to sleep for another couple of hours. You do that for a couple of years and it's pretty miserable. With my original onc's permission I used Benedryl as a sleep aid, as that knocks me out and my onc said it was safer than any scrip he could give me. But I always felt draggy the next day so I stopped taking those. Then I read about melatonin here on BCO and started taking a small dose (3mg) at night. What a difference - I could actually get to sleep, and more importantly, stay asleep. I asked my current onc and PCP about melatonin prior to using it, and both were fine with it, and much preferred that I use that to any prescription sleep aid if it was effective for me.
Melatonin in your system is light-sensitive, so make your bedroom as dark as possible to help it work - close the blinds and drapes to shut out any light, even moonlight. Cover any LEDs from TVs or other electronics, set your alarm clock lights to the dimmest setting, don't use tablets or smart phones before bed, and don't use the TV in the bedroom, not even to fall asleep to. You want your room as dark as possible when you go to bed. You may have weird dreams the first week or so you use melatonin - not scary or disturbing dreams, but just weird.
If you have trouble not only falling asleep but staying asleep, there's a time-release melatonin available you can get. There's also a 1mg sub-lingual melatonin available - I keep some of that beside my bed, and on the occasional night when I wake up and can't get back to sleep, I'll just slip one of those under my tongue, and I'm usually back to sleep in no time. I can get both the time release and the sub-lingual melatonin at GNC, so my guess is that similar places would have it. Since melatonin is light sensitive, there's no draggy feeling in the morning - just expose your system to natural or artificial light in the morning as usual, and you're good to go.
Melatonin doesn't work for everyone, but it worked miracles for me. Check with your onc and PCP, and if they're OK with it, you may want to give it a try.

Good evening all. I power walked/jogged at the park earlier. So humid!

Great video Badger. Stay safe and dry Ruth. Pat you could also try switching the time you take your AI, I found when I took mine at night I slept much better than when I took it in the day.
Tonight went to Body Jam class, I am getting sick again it started two days ago same symptoms as last time so I'm back on antibiotics and my dream inducing cough mixture

Red & TwoHobbies I think Livestrong is a terrific website and I don't know what they do f2f for cancer folks. I agree - to be number one at any cost was his main focus. Badger, super to have an uneventful onc appointment.
I like knowing there was a double rainbow over the stadium Pat & NatsFan. Thanks Odie et al for the good wishes for the fundraiser tomorrow. We are sold out yet unfortunately wet constant drippy rain the past two days - typical summer weather in England. We shall work around it I'm making four different quiches and two salads today for the included lunch tomorrow. No gym for me today, although yesterday, body balance and pink pilates.0 -
Cute video, Badger, but now have this urge to go fetch a stick!

Half hour run this morning - a 5 bunny run.

I've been alternating 1 hr bike rides and walks along with M-W-F trainer time. Today was 5k in 60 minutes. 65, a pacemaker, and still on the bc journey and I feel pretty good. I know I'm not at anything close to competitive, but this is for me and not about competing. It's taken me a long time to give myself time for me.

Over a week since I've done my weight training. Ugh. Have to get back into it. I've been running or walking and swimming every day. I had a nice bike ride last weekend - just 8 miles but it was refreshing. I'm moving at least 30 to 40 minutes everyday but I feel heavier (and scale agrees) if I don't do weight training.

What a great video Badger.
Did my stretching this morning and a 15 minute walk. Will add another 15 minutes later today. Baby steps!
Happy Friday to all!!
