Wow Claire, what a gorgeous view.

Warm day here too so my exercise today was some aqua jogging, leisurely swimming and aqua calisthenics.  Also did some laundry Winking

Edited to add; Cheryl, your neighbor sounds wonderful.

Great pictures, Claire. Patoo, wow, 3500 steps that must have been a pretty lively service.

I'm finally almost over this flu. Actually spent most of today *out* of bed. Did a walk and shoulder rehab. Yesterday, a walk and hooped for a good interval.

Congratulations Claire! Beautiful picture of you!

Glad to see you back, Dulci. Hope you continue to improve.

Hello everybody and Happy Belated 4th of July!

Well, we survived Hurricane Arthur while spending a week in a beachfront house at Emerald Isle, NC! I've never been at the beach during a hurricane and pray I never am again. It was scary but luckily there was no damage. The only problem we had was that the electricity was out for 28 hours. We had great weather the days before and after Arthur. Below is a picture from the day after.

Claire and Wonderland beautiful pics. Patoo that must have been quite a service. LB we taped the Tour de France this morning, it was on live here at 2am and we got to see it go right past our friends house woohoooo, Yorkshire looked so beautiful.

This morning did Body Pump and then stayed for Body Step but did it on the floor, low option, the child care came in as the instructors little boy needed his diaper changed, I'm on the list so I got a 10 minute break, a stinky diaper and a lovely 4 teeth smiley baby boy cuddle.

Claire - what a great picture - congrats on 5 years!

Absolutely poured all day on the 4th, but got some inside work done like purging old linen from the linen closet - why am I "saving" queen sheets when we don't even have a queen bed in the house anymore?  Also did the same with towels.  Not a lot of quantifiable exercise for me, other than mowing the lawn - my gym is closed for a week for renovations, so I'm going to try to get motivated to do some weights at home this week, and keep up my steps. I find that with the advent of the warm weather I am spending more time around the pool without my fitbit, and then forget to clip it back on later, so my decreased steps lately are probably a function of that. First blues on the beach Wednesday night - woohoo!, will get my dancing steps in!

Checking in after a wonderful long weekend at the cabin - blue skies and perfect weather.  Claire - congrats on the 5 years - bubbly is the perfect way to celebrate!  Ann - so sorry about the flu - hoping you're starting to feel better.  Badger - a BobbleHank sounds adorable!  Ginger - good for you for keeping up with the C25K program!  Patoo - so glad the gums are doing better.  Red - LOL on all the steps you're getting in chasing after your GD!  Wonder - so glad you're OK after Arthur - sounds very scary.  And everyone else I missed - it's great to read how busy everyone is.

Did a lot of Chores N Sculpt up at the cabin, including putting in a row of daylilies at the driveway entrance on one side, complete with stone border.  Of course it looks so good we have to do the other side now!  We also washed all the cabin windows inside and out.  The outside walls are mostly floor to ceiling windows (27 windows in all), so it's quite a chore.  But they look great now.  One window was really bad from a few months ago when some baby bear cubs apparently decided to play with one of the wind chimes when were gone - the chime was down and there were muddy baby bear pawprints all over the window.  Shocked No sign of bears at all this trip, so hopefully our banging on pots and pans to scare them off has worked.

We ran a 5K on the morning of the 4th in a local town in Pennsylvania (we're only a few miles from the border).  It was a really hilly course and it was hot running on the asphalt, so I was pretty much gassed by the end. But I finished, so that was a victory for me.  And the t-shirts they gave out were really nice!  Happy

Got my replacement Fuelband just before we left - this is an upgrade version that has a feature that monitors how much activity you've done each hour.  If you haven't been active during the hour, it prompts you to move for at least 5 minutes.  I like that feature - it's been making me get up and do a little something, even just walk around, at least once an hour.

Did a yoga DVD this morning, trying to stretch out all the sore muscles from the weekend's chores.  Ahhhhhhh  . . .

Congrats Claire, love the photo.  Wonderland great waves!         Biking, cross-country running, walking, swimming this past weekend.  Going to do a hard circuit training workout tonight.  Just took my first dose of Anastrozole to begin the 5 year countdown.

mz_mes, hope taking Anastrozole is uneventful for you.  You look happy in the waves Wonderland and pretty photo Claire.  Cheryl, Yorkshire did look so green, lush and perfectly beautiful from the helicopter views of TDF this past weekend. DH said the TDF may be swinging in front of his office building in
    London today.

Body balance at the gym this afternoon.

30 minute ride and 30 minute walk before workout with trainer. Doing leg sweeps in warm up, I pulled something in my leg, so we adjusted and worked on upper body. Still hurts.

Lilac I feel really ignorant.  Has the Tour de France always gone through England too, or is this a new feature?  I have no TV coverage so I get to see none of this, and believe it or not, most of what I miss is sports.  I always watched Wimbledon and missed the winter olympics and football.  The rest of TV coverage, not much.

MsMez, welcome to the anastrazole club.  I can't really say whether I have a lot of side effects or if they are related to other things, but I'm tolerating it.

Enjoyed the lovely pictures, Wonderland and Claire.  Both pictures look very cool and refreshing but I could really enjoy an ocean wave right now as it turned hot and humid today!

Yesterday I walked with my dog around the lake, 37 minutes and did my stretching.  Today I walked with my son on a more shady trail, 30 minutes and then dug up lilies of the valley for about 30 before the heat and humidity and bugs got to me.

Walked for an hour this morning & did 30 minutes of toning with Denise Austin. No Zumba for me tonight because I have been invited to a reception for 3 former students who, just a couple weeks ago, medaled for the North Dakota team in the National Special Olympic games in New Jersey (two got GOLD medals in swimming & the other a bronze in weight lifting). Pretty cool!

I spent most of my day packing & organizing because tomorrow I fly off to spend a week with my sister in NC. We will spend a couple days at the ocean so maybe I will have a cool wave picture like Wonderland. Speaking of Wonderland, she and I are having lunch next Monday. Fun, fun!!! ThumbsUp

Mary: I've washed lots of things off my windows, but never baby bear paw prints! Your weekend sounds wonderful.

Ruth: Have a safe flight and can't wait until Monday!

Odie: Nothing like a bubble bath after a hard workout!

Two Hobbies: Heat, humidity and bugs are the pits.

Keep up the good work Teacher!

Kindergarten: Have a great time with your granddaughter!

LB: Hope your dh got to see the TDF!

    Mz: Good luck with Anastrozole.

Hot and humid today. Ran errands, rested, then mowed for almost 1 1/2 hours.

Has anyone here had the latissimus dorsi flap with implants?  It's what my PS is recommending after my implant exchange failed.  I am concerned about my ability to be athletic, run, lift weights after muscle is removed from my back.  I would like to hear from anyone who has had the latissimus dorsi.  Thank you.

The gym is closed for the week and I am turning into a slug at home.  I have great plans to do some weights and core stuff after work, then plop my butt on the couch.  Did manage a nice walk at lunch yesterday, and some classical stretch this morning.

Hot and humid and sticky run this morning - I was thinking about your picture in the ocean, Wonder, and wishing I could jump in the surf to cool off!  I settled for jumping in the pool after my run, running clothes and all.  It felt wonderful!

We have a Nats game tonight - we got our tickets through our senior activities group so we'll get to take a bus that will drop us off right at the ballpark gates, then pick us up at the gates when the game is over, so that will be quite a luxury.  Somehow I don't feel quite old enough to qualify for a senior trip, but the calendar tells me that I'm more than qualified!  Shocked

It's relatively hot here with temps in the high 70s to low 80s. It will be warmer in Portland, so I am glad that I got in a hot ride on Sunday. Know I am just fine that way.  The best is that looks like there will be a NORTHWEST breeze to push me southwards. This is important, because I have had rain with a 10 mph wind out of the south in past rides. I am getting excited about this year's ride.

I did a 5k run last night so my body is talking to me. I don't need any other leg/butt toning exercises. In fact, I can see the difference in my leg muscles from all the weekend cycling. I also find myself wanting to wear skirts to show off my hard work.

YIKES....need to get dressed and off to work. Busy day, with a board meeting tonight. Tomorrow evening, back to Seattle to pick up my ride bib etc, and also to the wine bar as my aerospace engineer friend Dottie is in town, and always so fun to see her. Other stuff to follow up with.

And the celebration continues...... - Claire

Clothes washed & put away, ditto the dishes, flower bed weeded out, did an hour of spot toning with Denise Austin; which I whined all the way through.....'Blah, I don't feel like doing this". "No, not the crunches" etc. but she and her girls didn't seem to care at all!!!! (pat, join me in the misery of home exercise!) Now I am checking in here, then will clean up & be off to the airport. I kind of wish they were coming to me as it sounds awfully hot & sticky on the East Coast & it is supposed to be in the 70/80 range here. You will have to wait for pictures until I come back as I can't post them here from my phone (if there is something you MUST see, I'll send it to Cheryl and she can put it up). Happy Week, Everyone!

    Ruth, safe travels...

Sure hope Mary and her hubby found cover at the ballfield as we have had some serious storms to break the heat and humidity. I went to bootcamp tonight and was completely drenched in liquid awesome. No worries though as there was a torrential downpour on my way home so I got a serious shower Loopy.

Have a great Hump Day ladies!

Check in for yesterday - did Sh'bam in the morning and then Body Combat in the evening, came home had dinner and fell asleep on the couch, woke up at 5am Loopy tonight did Body Jam, then went into the sauna and steam room still trying to clear out my lungs and I think that helps but if nothing else my skin feels great.

Have a great time Ruth, will post pics if you send them and enjoy your lunch on Monday with our Wonderland. Kindergarten that marine layer is nice but geeze by lunchtime it's blazing hot and it's going to go up and up, it says by next Monday it's going to be 104 I have the fan blowing on me right now trying to cool down. Have a great visit with your friend Claire. Ha Odie then you probably had to have a shower when you got home to add to your water logged evening Scared

TwoHobbies, it was the fourth time the Tour has visited Britain and TDF was very pleased at the positive response and turnout in Yorkshire.  The UK of recent times has learned to embrace and respond well to sporting events from hosting 2012 olympics.  Football (soccer) is another matter, and usually does not go down as civil nor positive. I witnessed all 7 of Lance Armstrong's (so called) wins in Paris as we at that time, lived just steps from the Champs Elysees and Avenue George V (right bank). I own a bit of TDF tat; yellow tee shirts, umbrella, and hat and was so proud of Lance and thought he was incredible - stood by him until he admitted to the doping lies and deceit. Huge disappointment to say the least and goes to show that elite athletes are flawed humans too.

I'm very busy with getting ready for the big pink pilates fundraiser this Saturday and our son is still in school and will be for a few more weeks.  I have a meeting to attend tonight for his design technology class, discussing next years important GCSE exams.  High school for kids here is very pressureized and exam focused.  This week has been and will continue to be hit or miss on the exercise front.  yesterday was able to get to the gym in the morning for body balance and yoga with my son last night.

Power step and body balance at the gym this morning.
