It's been a while!! Had some health issues including a 3.5 month period that had me feeling anemic. Anyhoo...finally starting to feel stronger. Last night I got to ride my antique bike for 2 hours. Happy 4th to the USA girls!

Yesterday's exercise was walking up the HILL to my oncology appointment from the bus stop, and then back down to the wine bar for some wine (starting with a glass of champagne) to celebrate the FIVE YEARS CANCER FREE. The hill is the one featured in the news photos several years ago when the bus was suspended over I-5 following an ice storm. THAT HILL. About 2+ miles altogether.
I go to yearly oncology appointments at this point and I asked the 10 year vs 5 year question about anastrazole which ends in 10 months. My oncologist doesn't believe that the incremental benefit would be worth it for me to stay on. Because of the clinical trial I was on, it's yearly to the 15 year mark, so they can evaluate late effects of adriamycin and anything else that might pop up. My oncologist did say that I am by far the most active of her patients. Ended up talking to one of the staff there who is also doing the Seattle-to-Portland.
I took copies of the corset picture to show my surgeon, and my oncologist called it "a hoot" also saying that my pictures are far more interesting than most of the ones she gets to see. I also mentioned that it was taken by a friend of mine who is an aerospace engineer. So odd to be at this point....a combination of celebration, gratitude, and appreciation of the extra time I have been granted.
Off for a training ride in a few. I slept in this AM, and need to do 100+ miles this weekend to be ready for the Pilgrimage to Portland. Life is good. - Claire

So we're sculpted tarts now? :-) Welcome Teacher and yensmiles, and welcome back Ginger and Dulcigirl. AnnieLane, so sorry about your dog. NatsFan, how cool that you used bike share. Very civic-minded and fun. Claire, a very happy five year anniversary to you -- woo-hoo! Sweet, I hope you get some answers from you doctor. That's a long time to be not feeling well and not sure why. Badger I have Malificent on my netflix list, looking forward to the DVD release.
I've been down with the flu or a bad cold for three days. Barely got out of bed. It reminded me so much of AC chemo. Food and water even had that familiar yucky taste to them. Finally getting over it I think. I am guessing I picked up a bug at the clinic Tuesday when I went for my rheumatology consult. He wants me to do Reclast injections, once a year for 3-5 years. I agreed to do it. Managed to walk to the park today, very slowly. No hooping, unless you count hooping in my mind because I was missing it so much.

Hi, stopping in just for a second before I crash (it's 1:00am). I had a terrific Independence Day!!! SIL and I walked this morning before all the fun began. Ate like crazy but also ran up & down the steps, from the lawn to the deck to the kitchen, many, many times today during our annual 4th of July picnic.....so did burn off some of the calories anyway.
Hope everyone who is under the weather starts to feel better!
Claire, CONGRATULATIONS! You have definitely earned that champagne!!

Yesterday my husband and I walked 47 minutes before the 4th festivities. Today I walked 68 minutes. Pleasant weather again led me to the lake and around the long way. Lots of wildflowers blooming and birds and butterflies. Its so much easier to get your exercise in during pleasant weather. When I got home, I added up my minutes for the week and I was up to 295. Had I known that I would have walked 5 more minutes to get to 300! Took a couple of aspirin and did my stretches and I'm headed for the shower so I don't think I'm going to add any more though!
Yes Ginger, count your .7 mile too. As you see I count every minute!Teacher I should be attacking weeds. It's non-stop action at my house!
Claire, congrats on your milestone and many more!

Well done Claire on 5 years cancer free. Teacher, you rock personal training!
Usual step and body balance at the gym yesterday. Today is a workout day off and going to run tomorrow morning.
Great sports on tv though with women's Wimbledon finals (bit of a too quick damp squib) thrilling ending of Tour de France first day in North Yorkshire and world cup soccer seems to go on forever. Federer and Djokovic tomorrow and I think those matches will go on for sometime.

No formal exercise today, but lots & lots & lots of running around.

Congratulations on your five years Claire!! Wishing you many more and a great ride in your upcoming event.
Happy belated 4th of July holiday. Rest day yesterday and spent several hours today pulling weeds and grass. Hope to round out the weekend with some aqua jogging and swimming tomorrow.
Happy Sunday all! Sending healing thoughts to those not feeling well.

Hi friends, finally gum pain subsiding. Got out to walk yesterday and today though not quite 10000 steps; just over 7000 each day. Hope everyone is enjoying great weather like we have here and those under the weather feel better soon.
Night my sculpted friends.

Congratulations on reaching the five year mark Claire, champagne seems an appropriate celebration drink. Ann hope you are feeling better. LB my friends are from Harrogate and they've been twittering on for the past week about the Tour on Facebook and I didn't get it until today, dah, from all the pictures Yorkshire certainly turned it on. Teacher/Odie you need to have my across the street neighbor, she's retired and gets bored and when she gets bored while I'm at work she comes over waters the lawn and garden and does the weeding, I know I'm very lucky!!!
Did Spin class this morning and then walked the mall this afternoon and someone tuned the furnace on today, it's hot, hot, hot.

We went hiking up at Torrey Pines yesterday!! Beautiful day!! The San Diego area is so beautiful this time of year! Not too hot and beautiful breezes coming off the ocean! We drove past Oceanside, such a beautiful area! Hope the California Dreaming Girls still plan on coming out this way again next year!! Happy Sunday to all!!!

Great picture Claire. Have another for me!

Yay Claire! You look great and I hope you are enjoying your 5th.
10,555 steps yesterday, most of them chasing my 11 year old GD around. She had a sleepover with us in the tent in the backyard, complete with campfire and marshmallows. We all had a blast. She's still here and I am showing another 4,000 steps, but we were in the pool all day playing volleyball and paddle ball. My stepper doesn't tolerate water so I have no idea how much I've done today. Oh and also laundry and weeding. That's gotta be worth something.
Patoo, glad your mouth feels better. Aching teeth are such a hindrance. They prevent you from doing a lot.
Yens, welcome.
Have a nice Sunday evening.

No real exercise today. Got in 3500 steps just doing praise and worship at church but then went to the park with a book and sat by the lake reading. Loved it. Will do more tomorrow.
Night my sculpted friends.

My company left after lunch; spent much of the rest of the afternoon vacuuming, washing bedding etc. etc. I did get in a short walk & did 30 minutes of abs.

I managed to walk a mile on the treadmill tonight. I'm hoping to feel better this week. It's supposed to rain the next three days so I guess I'll continue exercising inside!

I finished my 100 miles of cycling for the weekend. It was hot today, so good practice for next weekend. I went to North Bend today and did a combination of hills, flat areas, and exploring the back streets of Snoqualmie for a couple of extra miles. I fought the crowds at the Falls and got a glimpse...plus ice cream.
Caught this view of Mount Si on the way back to my car. - Claire
