    Love the bear pic.

All I did was compulsively clean because surgery is tomorrow. House looks good.

Nat: That bear is huge! What a great picture!

Good evening all. I've enjoyed reading all the posts. Last night and tonight I power walked/jogged.

    Welcome to the group Lilyn.

Great nature update Mary; love the photos. Good luck on your tests Cheryl. Lilacblue, have to say I like cheese as well. Red, HIT is high intensity interval training.

Today's exercise was bootcamp. Gorgeous cool evening here so I think I may hit the hot tub.

Mary I love the look on the bears face, it's like 'what in the heck are you doing here' that Mikey he is a pistol luckily he's a pistol on the right side of the window. Pat your trainer sounds awesome. LB I was just on antibiotics for the pneumonia and one thing I had adhere to was no dairy 2 hours before and 2 hours after I took the pill, it was the hardest thing to do. Teacher good luck on your surgery tomorrow.

Body Jam class tonight, new routine so the brain was all huh what, but it was fun.

Teacher, wishing you a smooth, easy recovery on your stage 2 and that the results are exactly what you hoped for. I'm on a cleaning frenzy, including renting a rug cleaner yesterday and blitzing almost the whole house.  Surgery is not my motivation, it's family arriving from California on Sunday.  Twohobbies, my 15 year old is not a team sport kind of guy, he is lean and long like his dad and he does snow ski and I had been bugging him to do something physical - on a regular basis.  So at end of April he ran a 5k with me and did so well, he has stuck with it running at least once a week and then tried yoga a few months back (a different gym from my usual that allows under 16's and pay per class) with a excellent teacher that really gets teen boys, so that has helped grow his yoga fondness.  I see our boy in a different light when we are downward dog across the room from each other and we are yoga bonding and I bought him a eco mat that he picked out - although his hammys are really tight like all men.   Good for you on dairy reduction. You are great at sticking with resolve to change your diet. Good to know I'm with other women  cheese lovers here!  Mary, you and bears! You must have amazing bear photo collection...do you know if it is the same few who visit?

Off to power step in a bit and drop son off before hand at other gym for yoga.

Then a trip to the council recycling dump...nothing like purging useless crap that has cluttered up our home for far too long.

Mary, I never knew you could identify a juvenile hummer - this year we have a bumper crop at our house, so we have two feeders going.  I'm sure some must be juveniles, so now I will need to pay attention to see if I can tell the difference.

Got my 10k steps in yesterday, and a new haircut (bangs and layers).  Love it, but we will see if I can ever reproduce the look I walked out of the salon with - always the challenge.  Did classical stretch this morning, still sore from Monday - yikes! Will be hard to get steps in today, have a picnic lunch at work, and then tonight is blues on the beach - so my exercise will be dance and sculpt!

Teacher - good luck with surgery and recovery!  LB - nothing like the prospect of company to inspire a cleaning frenzy. Sounds like a fun family get together.  We're not sure the bear is the same big guy who visited us last fall, but we suspect it is - males are territorial so two males would not usually live in the same area.  (We assume that was a male based on size and the fact that he wasn't accompanied by cubs.)  Pat - we just noticed the juvenile hummer for the first time last weekend.  I saw what I thought at first was two females feeding at the same feeder at the same time, and as you've probably observed, the females tend to be very possessive of "their" feeders and will chase off other females who try to feed there.  So we looked more closely and realized that the second "female" actually had a white ring around the neck and a little dark speckling under the chin, and when we checked our bird app, we saw that's how male juveniles look.  LOL on reproducing the salon look - that never works for me.  I always tease my stylist that when I win the lottery, I'm going to hire him to come to my house every morning to do my hair! Enjoy blues on the beach - it always sounds like so much fun.

Record lows this morning - 50 degrees!!!  I had weights/core on my schedule this morning, but I just couldn't stay inside, so I took a brisk 30 minute walk outside in the blessedly cool weather.  Yin yoga on the schedule for tonight.

Here is my weekly Wednesday Walking Women picture. Along with our main goals of WALKING & EATING, we also look around for community projects to support (some of the ladies helped paint rooms in the YMCA when I was gone, last week when we did Christmas in July, along with gag gifts for each other, we all contributed some money for a local WWII Vet to attend his reunion & for a kid in the Make a Wish program, when they do 'Stuff the Bus' things (school supplies for needy kids), we will get involved with that too.....that kind of thing.  Anyway......a niece of one of our gals is doing a BC awareness challenge & people can support her through donations & doing a 'virtual marathon' (walk 26 miles in a given period of time). We finished our 26 miles today & that is why we are all wearing pink. I am not crazy about 'pinking'......but am not militantly opposed either (as some are), so went with the flow.

I will be in pink at Zumba tonight too, but for a different reason; our great teacher is (temporarily, we hope) retiring to get ready for a new baby girl. It's her last night and we are going to have a little party for her.

Wow - I love all the pics. The bear, the humming birds, the deer and the www ladies!

I have 355 steps so far today and I probably won't get  much more in today. I mixed up my pills last night and couldn't go to work today. I have now put all pills not related to bc in another medicine cabinet so that it will take a real effort to mix them up accidentally. lol

Jut two 15-minute brisk walks at morning and afternoon break today.  I'm somewhere between 8,000 and 10,000 steps.  Haven't been able to get my Fitbit to sync for a while so I have to count on the little flashing lights these days.  Love all the pix but I'm scared shitless of bears.  I'd have a heart attack if I saw one in my yard Nats-Fan - yikes!  I'd rather see them on TV.

I walked 30 minutes at lunch today.  I intended to walk again this evening but instead I went to the grocery store so I'll probably just get in a 10 minute dog walk and be done with it.

Welcome to Lilyn!  Come on and join us!

Wow look at all those pink ladies!  I wish I had a walking and eating group.  Maybe I'll have to try to round up one!

Speaking of a group, here is my Zumba class celebrating with our instructor who is going on maternity leave after tonight (yes, she is having a girl).

Teacher, glad surgery is done and I wish you an easy recovery.

Love all the photos and agree with Sweet that a bear would scare the bejesus out of me.

As Mary mentioned, we are enjoying some incredibly beautiful weather here. It was simply too nice out today to hang out in the gym so I went for a nice 2.75 mile run with a coworker around my office park after work. Afterwards we completed 15 minutes of ab exercises.

Hi ladies I'm back again. Well I must start somewhere. Today at work had quick lunch and instead of sitting around gabbing went for a brisk walk for about 15 minutes which included three sets of stairs. Going to do that every day now. Also had my final checkup with breast surgeon today and told her how I am really going to make sure I lose some weight and get exercise. She said it is so important for women who have had breast cancer to exercise and keep the weight down. Apparently studies are showing that keeping a healthy weight and exercising can reduce recurrence by 25%. So onward and upward!! I love looking at your photos too everyone.

Mary, thanks for the juvenile hummer tips.  Sweet, I occasionally have trouble fitbit syncing too - what works for me is rebooting the fitbit, and then rebooting the devices that I use to sync with (I use both my phone and ipad) - has worked for me so far.

Some classical stretch this morning, a nice walk planned at lunch in this delightful weather we are having, then to the gym tonight.

90 minutes yin yoga last night - ahhhh.  It's still unusually cool and beautiful here in the early am, so I got out for a brisk 30 minute run this morning - it was a 4 bunny run.  All you northern ladies,  thanks for lending us your delightful summer weather for a while!  Happy

Staying on track with exercise, and gearing up for Saturday's Lavender ride. Life is hectic as usual. I FINALLY got the wardrobe put together yesterday. My cycling buddy, Jim, came over to help. He gave up a good portion of a day of his vacation to help me out. I still need to get a present for his daughter's wedding. (No, Jim isn't the guy who's chasing me.) I don't suggest starting with a wardrobe as the piece you put together. But once we did all 8 possible combinations for side pieces, all went much better. And it looks just wonderful.

Think part of Sunday will be spent arranging things in it, and also finally putting the last items from the move. They were sitting in the space now occupied by the wardrobe, so in the middle of the living room. At least the wardrobe boxes are now gone, so a measure of progress. LOVING the final look.

Just filed my Q2 WA state business taxes. I realized that the best time to do this was 6 AM today! (I have had better incentives for getting up early.) So in on time, and I am ready to do the other things I am trying to get done prior to my drive.

The funniest car problem ever. For at least a year, I have had this rattling/buzzing noise. I didn't think serious, and I did have it checked a couple of times. But you never know and my car is over 10 years old. I took it to the upscale German/Subaru car place next to the office. They found the noise!!!! It was ROCKS under the heat shield. So I got off cheap, and Rexxie sounds just fine now. No noise, and no adjusting my driving to minimize the sound.

Got a call from Mr Single Chain Ring last night. We will meet for coffee in a couple of weeks. Will see what else I can cram into today. Happy exercising everyone. Hoping for a run this evening. - Claire

p.s. If I have anything left after Saturday's ride, I will do a "cycle in" to see the Blue Angels on Sunday. About 25 miles around Mercer Island, and by far the best way to do this. And then hit the cheap veggie stand on the way back home.

Zzzzzzz. Yawn. OK I'm awake now. Yesterday I did a grand total of (drum roll please) 683 steps. Yes folks that was it. Today I'm doing much better. Taking the dog for a walk after dinner. So I'll probably get in around 9000 today. Didn't get a lunch today, so no noon walk. :-(

50 minute walk including 5 minutes running in the middle.  Love the image above.  I'm the type that really loves to WATCH fitness videos but never seem to actually DO them!  Ruth, I'm in awe of your discipline in using your fitness videos so regularly!

Welcome, Lilyn!  Keep up the good work.

NatsFan, I enjoyed the nature report and pictures.

Ruth, eeek! That's a lot of pink!

Claire, congratulations on the wardrobe. I once put together a MALM 5 drawer dresser by myself and swore never to buy such a complicated Ikea piece again. And hooray for Mr Single Chain, I hope you enjoy your date.

I'm just about feeling human again. Long time fighting off a cold then about a week dragging after the Reclast. I lost a few pounds but unfortunately some was muscle so I feel thinner but also weaker. Walked yesterday, hooped today and planning another short walk. Hot weather here lately.

OK  my fit ladies I need help/kick in the butt.I have TEs and await exchange Aug 20 . I used to work out at the gym 4-5 nights per week.I was also vegan but decided I need more protein post-op so have started eating seafood. I have lost weight since the diagnosis in April (stress or Tamoxifen) but I can't get my butt to the gym. I go maybe once or twice per week. In the meantime I have returned to work PT just two days per week, but am sooo sore that it stresses me out and at the end of these days I have a beer...which makes me eat junk! I sit here with my hand in a bag of chips.

I need inspiration. I doubt I can run again because I have low back issues (maybe I can who knows). I feel like I need a new activity or something to get me motivated and going. I probably won't be able to do much until after I have healed from the exchange but I want to start planning and psyching myself up!

    Any ideas?

Teacher and Ann, hope you both continue to get stronger and feel better with each passing day.  Claire, finally getting the wardrobe set up must be a great feeling. Enjoy your ride.

Red,  Don't beat yourself up when you have a less than stellar exercise day. My heart wasn't in the run yesterday so I was not at my best either.

    Tonight's exercise was bootcamp. Shocking, I know..LOL

Sweet dreams sculpted sisters. Hugs to all!
