Welcome Midgie. Nisa I am so sorry about your friend (((HUG))). You're welcome Badger it was my pleasure. Patoo I finished up my laundry and did ironing and put stuff away today and I really don't want to go back to work tomorrow ugh. Dunesleeper they are not pathetic numbers you are moving forward and that is what is important.
This morning did Body Pump class then met friends at another gym and did U Jam, my friends really liked it, me not so much but at least I was moving.0 -
Gorgeous day here, walked for exercise in the morning before it got hot & humid. Grilled mushroom & Swiss brats for supper yum. Just back from a leisurely stroll around the neighborhood. Soft summer night abounding with fireflies. Love this time of year here. Posting 5.2 miles for the day.

BTW, my Fitbit totals, Sat-Thursda,y was 81,105 steps (avg 13517/day) and 107 flights of stairs (58 of them on Tuesday).
Nisa, sorry for the loss of your friend.

I was busy again today with family and 'catch up' stuff. Tomorrow I absolutely will get back on track (I know I got in all of my aerobics last week, but none of the toning!). I have my Fitbit all charged up, yoga mat in the car, scale in a place where I will be forced to step on it.....so I should be good to go! I hope we all have a great, active week ahead!

Saturday I had a Jamberry party (it's not jam it's covering for your nails). So-o-o I had to get my house ready. Straightened up the living room and dining room. Put all the cages and supplies that my husband had collected in the livingroom out on the patio. The last one was too heavy for me so I had to call my daughter over to help me. My husband couldn't help because he was restricted due to surgery last week for a torn retina. After a trip to Trader Joe's for goodies, I came home and vacuumed the downstairs. Logged 2,207 steps (not quite a mile) on my fitbit.
Funny how Sunday I logged 3,468 steps (1.49 miles) just going to the movies and a restaurant for Father's Day - and throwing in a bit of grocery shopping.

Bonnid, why do you have cages in your living room? (Interesting explanations are going through my mind

I am NOT cycling today, after having done my 100 miles for the week ending Sunday. 3 more weeks to the big event and this year, really on track with training. I feel very fit and strong right now.
Yesterday, my friends came for a day of cycling and dinner. This started with pumping up everyone's tires, and yes, a good bicycle pump is a necessity for anyone who does any cycling at all. I just love mine. Of course, one of us had a flat, so a trip to the bicycle shop, where we found out that the prior shop had not done the back wheel correctly. All is well, and so glad I knew about this shop. (I have had enough flats to know these things.)
We stopped for beers at the Snoqualmie Brewery (root beer for the tween), and then beer and dinner at my place. I had fresh strawberries from the market so Pavlova time! Still have a bit left.
So the most fun Midsummer day ever!
My friends' son Simon is becoming quite the young man. Still in childhood the last time I saw them all 3 months ago. He's turning into a really cool kid. Fun to see this happening. They all loved cycling in glorious countryside, and the most gorgeous scenery.
For the Seattle-to-Portland, I ordered a sleeping bag and large duffle bag. The idea is to have a "grab and go" arrangement for all my camping gear. So I also remember the sheet and towel. I got a compact sleeping bag so it stows neatly when not in use. I think another one of those upgrades.
Have a great week everyone! - Claire

You will rock Seattle-to-Portland, Claire. Good question, Ruth. Patoo, that's impressive.
Went to a Zumbathon Sunday. Today walked/ran with DD who had no school.

Patoo, so glad you are back safe and sound! Soon things will settle down!!!
Cheryl, you are so diligent on getting back to body Pump!!!
I am having a Very Lazy Day!!

Kindergarten, I'm certain it will but probably not until I'm in FL. Meantime, I'll be okay with the scramble.
Had lunch with ex-coworkers. They did come for a couple minutes to the breakfast my department had for me 2 weeks ago but we needed to have a time to ourselves to reminiscesce(sp?) about the time we used to have Bible study in a closet at work. Due to their positions in the company (read SVP, VP, etc.) they need to not alienate anyone.
After that did run some errands including shopping-therapy. Logged a little over 6600 steps today. Will try and beat that tomorrow.

Badger - Hi again! Is that you on your picture when you were little? So cute.
Patoo - Hi again! What's the meaning of "night sculpted friends"? Oh these foreigners, lol.
Thanks everyone for hugs for the loss of my dear friend. I carry her in my heart as I go on walks, she loved walking. Did my 5k walk for which I always use a free app called "MapMyWalk" but now would like to buy a pedometer...suggestions?
Hugs to all, Nisa0 -
Hi Nisa! So glad you are here with us. Very sorry about your dear friend. (((HUG))). Many ladies here have a Fitbit and love it.
Hi to All the new ladies here!
CA Dreaming Ladies: LOVE LOVE LOVE all the pictures!!! Can't wait to hear more about the trip when I visit with Ruth in a few weeks.
I haven't posted in a few days because I haven't walked due to the heat.
The heat and the humidity have been draining. Today has been just as bad but dh and decided to go ahead and just do it. So, I just returned 20 minutes ago from my fast walk/run. At least the sun wasn't out.0 -
Nisa, 'night sculpted friends' is just saying goodnight to all of you sisters who are getting sculpted by the exercise. Even a little exercise is working toward sculpting the arms or calves or thighs or tummy or some bodily part! As Wonderland said, most of us have the Fitbit pedometer but I was just as happy with my Omron which is probably one-third the price and I thought it worked well if you only wanted to count your steps.
Wonderland, I forget, when will Ruth be in NC? I'll be there most of July but on full schedule with my sister.
0 -
I will be there July 8-14. I need to get my California pictures developed & sent off ASAP so I can wrap the West Coast up and start thinking about going East. I hope you can drop the temperatures & humidity a little, Wonderland. It sounds quite dreadful there at the moment!
A busy catch-up day; did a little house cleaning, went to yoga, got lots of groceries, did zumba, and actually made a nice supper!

walked 30 minutes today. Was a bit on the run this weekend but back at today. 7000 steps on fitbit. Which is high for me.
To a good active week for us

Made it to an hour of PT today, and a half mile walk around the pond. Only two more chemo's to go! You ladies are such an inspiration!

littleblue, your job sounds so interesting and you live in one of the most beautiful places on earth. Lucky! I'm from SD originally. We were always hoping to move to Montana.
Windy 3.5 mile run under black threatening clouds. Didn't venture far from home! Also did some lifting and a walk with the dog and DH.

Claire, sounds like you are well prepared for the big race; both training and equipment-wize.
Heidi, I have gone to a Zumbathon. Very fun!
Nisa, I have a Fitbit Charge. Very easy to set up, fun to use (it vibrates on your arm when you reach your targeted steps). I didn't bring it on vacation, but now I wish I had because I would have gotten tons of steps with all the climbing of the mountains and running through the airports!
Littleblue, yea! You are nearing the chemo finish line!!!!

Well I've gone and put my back out and it's darned sore, I think our Lab has been sitting in my chair while I was gone as it feels like one of the springs has gone so I was adjusting the way I was sitting and twisted the wrong way
that being said I went to Cardio Dance Party class tonight.0 -
Waving at Littleblue, Meljo, love the photos, Cheryl, easy does it and HeidiHill, DS took his last exam yesterday and now off school.
My final filming for body balance/flow is this afternoon. As ready as can be at this point in time. All will go smoothly, easily, and effortlessly using movement and breath to music.
Life is dynamic and always changing. Sometimes, you've got to be able to adapt your instructions to those changes in order to complete your mission.

I went to my Cardio Sculpt class this morning & noon yoga.
Ouch Cheryl, better do some stretching and maybe icing!

Cheryl - feel better girl, ice-ice. Patoo - thanks :-) I am so tired and achy that the only way I am getting myself off this chair is by writing here that I will go on a walk tonight. It won't be my every other day 5k sprint-walk but I will walk and will feel great afterwards. Evening sculpted friends :-)0
-
Nisa, you will feel better after you take a walk.
Thanks Kindergarten.
Cheryl, ouch. Yes you are brave to still go to class but be careful. You don't want to injure yourself more.
30 mins treadmill; 20 mins stat bike; 45 mins running in pool (great hotel!)
Yesterday met with my primary and, wonder of wonders, my weight was no worse for all the food you gals forced down me in CA! Probably because I turned down the cheesecake.

You did great, Patoo!! All of you did a lot of walking!!!
We just walked to dinner and back, so hopefully not too much damage!

You ladies inspire me every day!
3 mile jog, post taxol steroid crash 😐

Good job, little blue!! You push through it!! Fantastic!!!

Little blue...you will be much better at the other end with all your exercise. Good job in pushing through!
Back from my own 5k run. Gorgeous early evening in the woods. Still have my weights routine to get through. Think I will be doing a short ride tomorrow, another run Thursday or Friday, and a walk the other day. Strawberry ride is on Saturday, then a long charity ride on Sunday. That one will be 70 miles so really good training for the BIG RIDE in 3 weeks. - Claire
