    Hi Vickie

My rad onco is Dr.Barthold. I like him as of now we'll see once this get's going. Tuesday is the big day. I'm going in tommorow for my hip xray so maybe i will have to go back on Tuesday. I finished the 4 mile walk and now my hip is so sore i can't even walk, By the end i was limping. I t was fun though. I don't like being the center of attention and they gave all the survivors sashes to wear which my mom made me wear(how old am i? lol) and all my friends wanted to take pics and i had to be in all of them but overall it was uplifting i guess. My oldest wondered why i went because evidently he thinks i'm not out of the woods yet and there really was'nt to many bald heads there and i can spot a wig a mile away and did'nt see many of those either.I remember you and your daughter from the class. I hope my son was behaving the day you saw me in the treatment room. That was my boss i brought with me. I work at Veronica's Sweetcakes in Marshfield. Last week was the first almost full week i've had since this all started. My tired ass need's a rest. Hope to talk to you soon.Maybe we can meet for coffee sometime? It really is a small world.

Yes what a small world. Dr Barthold will be mine also. Him and Tito are really tight thats the only thing I don"t like. I live in Plympton I first spoke of Plymouth cause thats where I go for tratment. My kids went to Silver lake.

What time will you be at hospital on tuesday. I have blood work at 11:30 then my onc at 1pm.Maybe we will see each other. you had a good day. I know how you feel I don't like being the center of attention either. I do notice that many of the walkers usually have their hair. I think many of them wait till they are feeling so much better and awhile out of treatment.I give you alot of credit for walking today. I'm with you I can't walk even to my mailbox until at least 10 days or so after chemo.

If I don't see you have a great day on tuesday and good Luck.

    Vickie

I am good but all I do is work anymore and when I am off I only want to do nothing not even house work.  What about you?  I bet it is getting cold in New York now... we had temps in the 80's today.  I am so ready for cold weather and some snow, but here in the south we don't get much snow or cold temps.

    Good morning!

If I can weigh in on the treatment stuff.  No chemo, no rad (BMX) and no Tamoxifen.  I will however, see the onc every 6 months for awhile until I feel comfortable.  He did tell me "signs" to look for in recurrence:  A cough that lasts more than a couple weeks, bone aches that last more than a week and I must do a SE of all around my armpits/lymphs for lumps.  Any of the above and he said to see him immediately.  So, it's nice to know what I should be looking for.  Complete hysterectomy so nothing there to be checked out. :)

Val--welcome home.  Glad you had such a great time with the grandbabies.  Ahhh.  I love my grandbabies.  The best!!!  But, they do tucker me out!  haha

Hi everyone.  Been busy - back at work after school holidays - and only able to fly by for a quick catch up read lately.

Glad your trip went well and that you got home safely Val.

Hawaii - count me in Sheila.  I hate the cold weather and we hardly ever get below 0o here.  Summer is on the way although I am back in long pants and a jersey today!

Dee - good advice from your doctor.  My doctor told me a long time ago when my babies were little that if anything lasted longer than 2 weeks it should be checked out - good advice for healthy people too.

Michelle - my friend broke his leg and he has a bone spur growing that the docs won't remove as they say it will just come back.  He was in agony for months until he was referred to a pain specialist and what a difference!  He is off most of his pain meds, back working in his orchard, riding his bike and occassionally playing tennis again.  Hope it works out for you!

Met with pain management doc today - official dx Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), also known as Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy.. Pain doc thinks my intercostobrachial nerve got cut/nicked during my mastectomy or SNB.  I will be starting a new pain med, stretching exercises and massage on my pectoralis major and minor muscles (ouch, not fun) - kind of nervous about some of the side effects especially weight gain,I already gained 30 lbs from chemo/inactivity/meds - hoping and praying that this works and I don't turn into the blob...

Rae - while waiting to see the doc I heard such stories of hope and relief from years of chronic pain...it gave me such hope.  Thank you for sharing the story of your friend.

Happymom thank you for checking in on me!

    ((((Shelia, Val and Renee))))

I wish I could keep everyones story and name straight but I get so confused - so big shout out to all for a very good night.

Hi Girls, One down thirty four to go! The worst part of today was having my boob hang out. I do like the parking pass they gave me so i can be right in the front of the hospital. I could have used that during chemo. I have two men techs and one lady. Can you guy's tell me what kind of cream to use? I have no idea

ValJean my walk went well thanks. I don;t think i've ever walked 4 miles in my whole life! I guess it was succesful financially. I heard on the radio they raised 50 grand. It was the first year they have done a walk on Cape Cod. I have to say i think i was the only bald one there which i thought was kinda strange. Have a good night all....

Congrats Betsy.  And CONGRATS on completing the walk and the money raised - 50 grand - wow!

Michelle - SO pleased you had a positive appointment with the pain specialist and that you now have a name for what you have been experiencing - it wasn't just all in your mind!!  Fingers crossed the treatment will work for you.

Betsy, see if you can get a Rx for Biafine cream.  It is a miracle worker.  Until then, just get a nice unscented body cream.

Betsy ~ As I mentioned before, the only cream (until I started to burn & was given a 'script) that I used was 100% Aloe Vera. That's all it is, just aloe vera. No alcohol, no nothing. It felt cool going on & I believe it helped me to not burn as much. It is a healing lotion, after all.

There are many other lotions the ladies have used. My Rads Onc gave me a list of instructions before I began Rads & Aloe Vera was recommended.

4 Miles, you Rock, Betsy! And, $50 K, wonderful!

Michelle ~ Now you can move forward with no or mininal pain, YAY! You must feel so relieved to know what the cause of the pain is. I am really happy for you.
