♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Val...Ob-GYN doesn't bother me either and I have been told many times that I do not need to have a pap Test every year. But I go anyway. The waiting for a test result is what makes me all anxious yes after all these years I still get anxious.
I will take your words with me when I'm walking there tomorrow. Thanks sister/friend

Best of luck to all of you special ladies who are off for tests tomorow. Hoping hard all will be well for you all.
Val - has been a bee-u-tee-ful weekend here for our Labour Day holiday. Hope it is the same for you. Summer is on the way for us - we had 75oF on Sat - wohoo!
Patoo - two years - yay! May there be many more!
Joni - don't ya just hate it when you can't find a comfortable position for something that is sore? Have you tired arnica cream on the bruising - I find it helps break up even very deep bruising and helps with the pain as well.
Sheila - we are told every 3 years here for pap smear test unless we have an atypical result then it is 6 monthly for one year and annually for the next two years and then if all is well back onto once every three years. My doc usually sends a reminder but actually, thinking about it, I haven't been for more than 3 years - must ring the office and ask - better write myself a note cause I won't remember without one!
Barb - school teachers the world over are always busy, busy, busy - it just comes with the territory! Our high school teachers ( teaching kids age 12/13-17/18) are on rolling strike at the moment for pay increase and better conditions ie less kids in the classrooms. They have been offered an equivalent 1.9% increase so far and have refused it, this at a time when a large number of people are taking pay cuts so they can remain in employment in the aftermath of the recession. I can understand the conditions but the pay increase is generous considering the state of the economy at the moment. No mention of pay increases or better conditions ever for hourly rate school librarians though - I am in the wrong game!

Patoo (((YAY))) 2 years! Val - the only treasure I ever found in Treasure Island was (true story) my DH. Found him in a beach bar. He was married at the time but I gave him my card and told him to call me if he ever wasn't married. Two years later he called. The rest is history.

((((Shelia)))) hope your day is good!!
Biopsy is done! He used 5 needles and got 5 samples!!!! I am a little sore, swollen and the bruising has already started. I have a headache and ear ache, apparently there are a bunch of nerves near/around the thyroid and all that messing around hit a few nerves that radiated to my right ear and jaw. I should have the results by Friday...
Have a blessed day!

Michelle - bet you are glad it is over but ouch......!!!! 'Ice on the outside and drugs on the inside' is my remedy for any sore place. Hope you feel better soon and I hope the wait for results isn't too hard.
Barbara - lol. After one chance meeting - it must have been love at first sight - and they say it doesn't exist!
granny - hi! Hope the arm is getting better as the days go by. Have you managed to sort out your transport problem?

Hugs Sisters.
I saw my oncologist he checked me and blood work was done result hopefully by Wednesday.
Im coming off from Femara on March 2011 it will be 5 years and he still wants to see me every 4 months.
Michelle I hope you are comfortable. Just relax tonight.
I also learnt something today that might interest some of you who are getting TM Test.
He told me that even people without cancer DX have numbers. Its not 0.
Which I think answers your question Val. Even having a drink or an infection might rise the TM Test. I found it interesting.
Also Im 90% ER+ 10% PR+ and the number for HER2+ is 2.2 (I dont know what they mean.
And I didnt want to ask more questions.
I read on one of the thread that higher ER+ is better because the pill really works or something like that.
AND IT WAS A BEA-U_TEE-FULL DAY !!!!! Temp were around 72.
(((granny))) (((rae)))
(((HUGS))) to everyone.
Barbara....They should make a movie about your life

(((HUGS))) back Sheila! Rae, it really was love at first sight. He is a musician and I would see him at a bar playing from time to time and would ask him, 'Hi, Do you remember me?' And he would say 'Yes, you're Barbara." And I would say, 'Are you still married?" and he would say 'Yes, but if I wasn't I would be chasing you all over Tampa Bay.' Awwww. I ascribed it to a typical player-musician line. Totally not so. He really meant it and I was fresh out of a boring relationship when he finally called me so all worked out GREAT!!
And seeing him cross the room still makes my heart go pit-a-pat. Sickening for some, great for me! I mean, maybe it'll calm down a bit, it's only been 10 years.

Holding good thoughts for all my sister/friends who await results of tests/biopsies.
(((Michelle))) (((grannyD)))
Sheila ~ My NP told me once that the TM result would never be lower than <12 as that is as low as it goes, always. Very interesting that even a drink or an infection might raise the level. I did not know that, thanks for sharing. That could very well be why my level went up slightly [ 12.8 ]two tests ago & then returned to <12 after that.

Sheila ~ I just love that "love my computer'" graphic you posted.
Too cute!!!

Barbara - I have been on three cruises and LOVED every minute of them all. We did two out of Miami (Haiti, Pueto Rico way and the second was Jamaica, Grand Caymen, Yucatan peninsula etc) and then the Mediterranean. One big problem though - 24 hour food and if that isn't enough 24 hour free room service! Waist lines definitely expand if you are not careful!!
Sheila - Cancer cells can have proteins that the estrogen or progesterone binds to and these proteins are called 'receptors' - hence ER means 'Estrogen receptor' and PR means 'Progesterone receptor'. They do a test to see how many cells have Estrogen and/or Progesterone receptors and come up with the % figures. So in your case 90% of the cancer cells used Estrogen as fuel to grow and 10% used Progesterone as well. The 90% ER is good as it means that Hormone therapy, which drops the estrogen levels in our bodies to virtually nothing, should be effective in preventing recurrance as the cells won't get the estrogen they need to grow and will hopefully shrivel or die while we take the HT. My ER was 90% and my PR was 80% so 90% of the cells were receptive to estrogen and 80% were also receptive to progesterone. My onc said my cancer cells were strongly hormone driven so HT would be more effective than chemo for me - hope he was right! I haven't researched about the HER+ numbers so can't help with that. Are you nervous about stopping the HT next year? I feel nervous about stopping now and I still have 3.5 years to go! Fingers crossed for good results on Wed.
Michelle - hope you are feeling a little more comfortable now. Hoping your results are A-okay too.
Val - I love that friends in the computer graphic too. A friend sent me the same words but a different image a couple of years ago and at the time I thought how true that was, as more often than not I communicate with people even locally via email instead of phoning nowdays. And now, here I am 'talking' and making friends with you ladies who are half way round the world away from me! Computers and the internet are just the best thing since sliced bread!!!

rae...Thank You from the bottom of my heart for explaining it to me.
Now I really understand. My DR doesn't like it if I ask too many questions he says that's in the past already. (I like my DR). Yes rae I started to get uneasy about this. I see some women on these Boards they are on Femara or different prescriptions for more than 5 years.
I should be thankful that didn't suffer SE except thinning hair and some mild bone issues.
Val....Mine stays around 26-27. My DR explained to me its like cholesterol some people's are on the lower side some on the higher side but between ranges. He also told me because Im on the higher side doesn't mean that my BC will come back.

If I ever forget to respond to anybody's post please tell me. Lately I have to write every time I read something so I dont forget.
