Hi Sheila!!  The earthquake was in the same area as the previous 'big' one in September - Christchurch.  People are really starting to get edgy about living there now. I am glad I am away from the ongoing shocks but NZ is not known as the 'shaky isles' for no reason.  Anyone anywhere could be facing a serious earthquake at any time.

Hi Val!!  My day was not too bad except that I had two classes come nearly together this afternoon and my little library was full to brimming with noisy, restless kids and at the end of the day that is NOT a good thing!  I am off to my pink tennis night when I finish writing this.  The only concession I have made re wearing pink is bright pink socks with the breast cancer symbol on them.  I bought them many years ago to support the BC society when they were running a fundraiser here.  Since dx I can't bear to wear them but I have brought them out of retirement tonight.  How was your day?

Better get going.  Will be back in about 2 hours if anyone is still awake.  I have lost track of time zones lately and daylight saving has altered it all again.

Bye - love to you all

    Rae

Rae ~ I'll be in bed by the time you are back. I hope your tennis was fun & that you won a few! My day went well, the usual grocery shopping & trying to find room in the pantry when I get home. Trying to stock up a bit. Worked on a Christmas stocking I'm making for my Grandson. My fingers go numb & I have to keep putting my hands down to get the blood to get back into them so I can keep doing it. I use a needle & work with small beads & sequins. Very difficult with numbness.  Frown  Oh, the gift of Aromasin & bc keep on giving!! I almost bought one of those pink bracelets the other day that said Survivor on it, came close, but didn't. They had one that had, "Sisters in Arms." Maybe I should have gotten that one. Just not sure on how much I want to advertise my previous bc, you know? Of course, a stranger wouldn't know if it was for myself or someone else....

Our Daylight Saving Time ends Nov. 7 this year.

Very glad the earthquake was not at your house!! Smile

    love & hugs,

    Val

Hi Val - yep I had two matches and two wins - go me!  I had fun and the best part was NO comments re my BC!  I have the same hand/arm numbness problem when I drive the car for more than about 30 mins and when I ride my bike.  I too have to drop my hands and wait for the blood to come back - a total nuisance I agree.  Oh, the Christmas stocking sounds lovely - do you do a new one every year for them?  Are you stocking up your pantry in anticipation of  winter weather and not being about to get out?  Not something I would even consider here - you don't think about that sort of stuff when you live in a mild climate.  Sorry your daylight saving is ending :(  I had a conversation with a lady at tennis about the 'winter blues' and how we got depressed this winter with so much rain but thinking about it, it is peanuts to the winter depression some of you ladies must get with your severe winters!

    Happy days everyone!!!!

    Hi Betsy

was at the hospital on tuesday also. I'm glad your rads session went well. I have 2 more chenmos before I start. How long did you wait between chemo and rads. My onco says 4 weeks so your body can rest a bit.i am supposed to go on a cruise in jan and was just told I probably wont be able to go. We booked it before I was diagnosed. I was told I would be doing 6 chemos so it all would work out I would go then come back to start rads. Now Im only doing 4 and with waiting 4 weeks rads wont be over to after my cruise and you cant interupt rads I was told. i am doing 35 also.I'm not too heartbroken about it cause its a cruise my husband wanted to go on more than me but I feel bad for him. He will go anyway my brother is going also but so is my sisterinlaw so I feel bad about that. i am going on a  cruise with my daughter and frien in aug so that Imwill enjoy. i just hate how bc has messed up my life.

Are you going to the pink pj party?

4 miles you are a trooper thats very inspiring!

Good luck and hopefully we will see each other soon.

Crap! Crap! and Crap!!!   So I had the full body thermography last month, no red flags but there was some indication of thyroid not functioning properly and my carotid arteries were showing a bit hot so US were recommended.

Just got the results...carotids look great not sign of plaque or blockages.  The thyroid on the other hand show a cyst on the left and 2 solid nodules on the right with the largest showing a couple of 'echogenic reflectors consistent with mircocalcifications...a fine needle aspiration is recommended to exclude the possibility of maligancy'.

Can I repeat CRAP, CRAP, CRAP!!!!

Of course I do realize that it can be nothing out of the ordinary, but the last thing I want to see on ANY medical report is "possibly of malignancy".

Hoping to get the biopsy scheduled on Monday, Oct 25th...will let you guys know when I know.

Michelle my sister/friend you can say the word as many times as you wish.

I understand your feelings completely. I hope you get that Monday appointment.

And get good results from it. They are doing it for precaution and I know you went through a lot beside BC and all the related issues.

I will be thinking of you (its not that I don't) more. ((((((HUGS))))) to my friend.

Yea!  Biopsy is scheduled for Monday morning at 8:30am.  I am thrilled because my co-worker is going in for gastric bypass on Wednesday and will be out for several weeks.

I am really not too worried.   I figure it will either be B9 or not, my life is is God's hands and I trust Him fully to see me through what ever the outcome may be...however it is so wonderful to know that I can come here, have mild freak outs when fears do creep in, knowing full well that I will receive the kindness, encouragement and support that you all have shown over the last several hours.   Thank you!!!!

Michelle, may I add a big old DOUBLE KRAP!!!! to that.  I am so sorry you have to go through the waiting even if it's for a few days.  I've had the thyroid biopsy and in itself it's not too bad, but waiting on the results is pure KRAP"! Know we love you and are praying for you... B9 results all the way.

Now I have a special request... will everyone please say a special prayer for my 23 yr old nephew.  He is in the hospital tonight.  He has been vomiting for several weeks and has lost over 20 lbs.  He has severly elevated triglycerides they are over 2000!!  His liver enzmyes are severly out of whack as well( I won't go into all the lab values).  Apparently he has been drinking quite a bit and the doctor could tell from his lab work and told him if he didn't quit he would be dead in a year. This may be because he found out by accident he was adopted when he was 18 and it wasn't his parents that told him.  Now his mom is his mother it was his father that did the adopting.  Long story short something has caused him to do this.  We are very concerned and my sister is devastated.  Hugs to you all!! Sleep tight

Oh Mimi...your nephew is in my prayers!

My son was adopted by my DH when he was 8. He was 2 yrs old when DH and I started dating. We never pointed out that DH was not his biological, but we were always honest with him when he would question why 'daddy' was not in any of his baby pictures.  DS loves to tease DH that he has known me longer the DH.  He also loves to tell people he was adopted, leaving me to explain...

Last year, 2 months months after my dx and completely out of the blue, biological sent me a 'friend' request via FB...

Bio-dad has never met DS, who was 15 at the time, and was asking permission  reach out to him.  Apparently bio-dad has reached out to another one of his offspring (who did not know the person he called dad was not his bio-dad) and it really caused issues in that families dynamics.

Your nephew must be so confused and hurting to go to such extreme to drown his pain...prayers going up right now for both your nephew and his mom!

Hi Val - right back at you - you are a G8 friend to all of us, thanks :)

I am a slob today!  Have sat in my pjs most of the day on the computer doing emails and surfing BCO.  Most people seem to be asleep or at work when I am on so I do quite a bit of reading only.

    Hi Rae sister/friend~

That stocking I'm doing is similar to ones that I did for each of my DD's 33 & 31 years ago & that they still use to this day. They love to see them each year. I did one for my Granddaughter & didn't get my grandson's finished last year because of the neuropathy (did I spell that right?!) Anyway, I delayed all summer & now must get it done! Woe is me!!

As for the stocking up of my pantry, DH has had a pay cut & after Christmas the funds always seem to be less, so am trying to buy ahead a bit on items that I can. I have several bottles of Tide & Downy & stuff like that. Canned goods are great to stock up on so I have a pantry full upstairs & down.

I so cannot believe that you are a slob! You needed a day to RELAX & that is exactly what you did!!  Innocent

    ((hug))

Awww - thanks Val- that puts a much more positive spin on my day.  When I was preparing dinner my DH came up for a chat and when I took my sweatshirt off and he saw my pj top he made such a funny face, but wisely didn't comment, and I said 'I know, I am a disgrace' and then we both burst out laughing - ROFL!

Hi Ladies: I have tried to catch up on everyones posts.  Since school has started things have been crazy for me.  Work, school for kids, committees, sports, etc.  Fall is always a crazy time of year for me.  Wanted to let everyone know that I am finished with all my treatments.  I am going to start my Tamoxifen tomorrow.  I hope I have the same results as far as side effects go as I did with Chemo and Rads. (none).  I am feeling pretty good.  At times I am tired, but keep pushing myself.  I think the last time I posted I was hoping for a clear MRI.  Those results were negative!!! Both Breasts.  I was thrilled that the treatment worked.

Renee: I am so sorry about your nephew.  I will keep you, your sister and him in my prayers.  I will also put him on our prayer list at church.

Michelle: I am praying that everything on Monday so well.  I will keep you in my prayers and put you on the prayer list at church too.  As far as your venting CRAP,CRAP, CRAP, I might not have used such a kind word!!!

Betsy: I used Remedy Creme that i got at the hospital Imaging Center. "bc store at the hospital"

Have a great weekend everyone and I am so thankful that I have all of you in my lives.

To all my wonderful sisters that are praying for my nephew... Thank you so much!!! My sister is distraught!! The doctor wants him to go to rehab but he is refusing so from this point on I don't know what will happen.  The seriousness of the situation is critcal I only pray that GOD intervenes in his life and changes take place and healing takes place in his life.  This young man has got tolet GOD heal his mind, his heart and soul in order for physical healing to take place.  Healing has also got to take place in his family structure.

Love to all my sisters this weekend!

Uneasy.........that's a good way to put it, Sheila. I am hoping for a beautiful sunshiny day on Monday for your Onc appt & that you will walk out of there with a smile on your face & a dance in your step.  As you get (hopefully) your lab work back on Wed, I will be having my yearly ob-gyn appt at 9 a.m.. That does not bother me, but the mammo that will be scheduled that day will & does. Hopefully it will be the following morning or the day after. OMG, I hate this time of the year......Frown
