    Hi all,

I got some good news today, but at first I didn't think about it being good news.  I went for a fill for my tissue expanders, and I felt my PS put the needle in both sides.  That's never happened before.  My body is waking up!!!

Catbill:  They had to pump out our neighborhood yesterday.  It was pretty bad.  We hit our annual rainfall in one weekend.  Then we had a break yesterday, and this afternoon more rain.  The city is back on on track and should be able to handle the water from this storm.

Welcome Conjetta and msjag, two TN sisters.  I had the whole smear...Partial mx, chemo A/C T x 4, and rads.  Because TN is so aggressive and quick growing it responds well to chemo which kills the fastest growing cells.  The prognosis for TNs is more likelyfor recurrence during the first years post tx, then after five years it is usually better than for our + sisters.  I opted for the agressive tx so that I would be fighting the beast with everything I had.  I just celebrated my 7th cancerversary.  It worked for me, but each woman must make her own decision.  Please feel free to PM (Private Message at the top of the screen) me if you have any questions.

I am sorry about that.  Sometimes I forget that everyone doesn't know the abbreviations.

This is completely off the subject. but I was upset about 9/11 health coverage.

    Finally congress approved

It shouldn't even be a subject. I live about 20 miles north of the city. I could see the smoke clouds

We lost 2 neighboors during the tragedy. We lived the fear minute by minute.

These people did everything day after day after day....

Even to think about denying coverage makes me very angry.

Sorry I just got little excited and sad.

    Good Night

Just got back from my first onc appt.  No chemo for me - YAY!  Started tamoxifen today and rads will begin mid-January.  Only other issue is now I think I need to get a boob lift on the other side, because since the re-excision, they don't match anymore.  Somehow my surgeon gave me a boob lift and filled in the hole he left with the first lumpectomy.  Cancer boob looks better now than the other one. Hopefully rads will be an OK experience.  Don't know what to expect, but sure I will get lots of help and encouragement from all you ladies.  Merry Christmas to all!

Penny~lol mine don't match either.  Even the nipple and areola are a different color, when I had my 2nd surgery due to too close of a margin, two weeks later I was back in.  The incision was around my areola cuz the tumors were at 1 o'clock above the nipple. BS just flipped it over and scooped more stuff out.

Pennythoughts - YAY! On no chemo.  Your dx is exactly like mine.  My margins were clear the first time around and I did not have chemo.

I would be curious to know what your surgeon did to fill in the lump cavity.  My incision is under the nipple and close to the bra line.  Would like to do something to have both sides match better.

You may want to jump on the Dec Rads thread until someone starts a Jan Rads thread.  The ladies on all the threads are full of good information and lots of support and love.  This is the place to ask lots of questions, vent when you are angry or laugh it up.

raincitygirl - Glad to hear rads are going good so far.  Enjoy the 3 day break and let the skin heal.

I loved my rads team, felt sad and lost when I was done.  I was one of their first patients at the new Winchester Radiology Oncology Center in Winchester.

Deb, I lived near Lowell for a bit before UMass Lowell was UMass :)  When DS was born, I actually lived back in Danvers, my hometown.

Linda - some of that bisque would be nice, except that when  turned 40 I became allergic to lobster - go figure - I ate it all my life till then~

Sheila - are you all better?

My DH was brought up in North Reading.  We also owned and operated Ryer's Store for 10 years.

OMG - my boyfriend of many years was also brought up in North Reading and I remember Ryer's very well!  We have probably crossed paths before :)  I didn't marry that one but I spent 8 years waiting to do so....and then found the right one.
