I did it, Jo!  I finished the Boston Commons quilt in the car.  I also worked on the antiques quilt a bit.

Woo Hoo!!  Meece I am amazed at those who are blessed with the talent to sew, quilt, crochet, knit whatever it may be.  God did not give me the wisdom or patience to retain the knowledge to do so.  LOL!!! I have tried and once upon a time I learned to do the chain stitch crocheting but that is all I could ever be taught.  I just don't have craftiness in me.  haha.  My talents I guess lie elsewhere.

Have a Blessed Day... 24 hrs and counting - they have moved the time I have to be at the hospital to 8:30 a.m. Monday morning so I will be going into surgery before noon!!! yeah

Meece - Too cool on finishing the Boston Common quilt.  I have been working like crazy to finish my bed runner.  Have one more side of the binding to do - that will get done today.  Then I have to get it wrapped to give to my assistant manager for Christmas.  Will post a pic when I am done.

I am so glad we challenged each other to get back to the quilts.  My next self challenge is to do two machine pieced, hand quilted tops for my BS and nurse. I have 8 months to get them done.  I will take them on my 1 year cancer free anniversary.  I will probably need the time to hand quilt if the Femara joint pain SE kicks in - I hope not and still won't let it stop me.  It may just slow me down a bit.

Renee - Good to hear the surgery has been moved up.  I know you just want to get this done.  Best wishes and know my thoughts and prayers are with you for a speedy recovery.

Jo, I am so glad as well.  I need to continue to hand quilt the antique and a log cabin for Matt.  With a new grandbaby on the way, I plan on picking up some of th ematching sheets for their nursery decor and add it to a quilt.  I have to consider what pattern I will be using.

Renee, i can only imagine how excited you must be.  Take it easy as you recover.

Meece - I love to hand quilt.  I find it really relaxing and the look is much better than machine quilting.  To me it shows you put a lot more love into it.

Sheila - I think I have to take back what I said about the Femara.  I do sleep good but the nausea is really bad today and I am feeling a little dizzy.  I think it is time I try taking it in the morning with food and see what happens.  Been having a bit of a queasy stomach all week, nothing big and thought my body was trying to adjust to it.  Now I am not so sure.  Will keep you posted.

Meece - can't wait to see that baby quilt I know it will be beautiful!!  You do wonderful quilting work.

Val - hope you are enjoying your family time with the DD's and grandchildren

for those of you taking Femara I sincerely hope your nausea and other side effects get better with time, mine did with my Tamoxifen.  :)

Renee -  Thanks!  Can't wait to get started on my next quilting project.  This one will take sometime to finish.  I have to machine piece it, then will hand quilt the top and bottom together. Will post pic when I am finished.

I started Femara 6 days ago and the jury is still out as to whether or not I will be able to stay on it.  Have been nauseous since the 3rd day and today was the worst.  Been taking it at night and am gonna skip before bed and see what happens when I take it with breakfast.  This same thing happened with Arimidex.  If this is a no go, I will call my onc and see him after the holidays.  My next step is Tamoxifen.  This is sooooo frustrating.

How long was your nausea and what did you do to manage it until it went away?

I hope your nausea gets better, Jo.    I was able to hand quilt two more blocks on the antique quilt today.  Mimi, can you stay up late with the anticipation and sleep in just a little?  I am like you, I'd be up early and then starve before surgery.

I just read a lot of pages to catch up a bit and am so sorry and am praying for you and your family, Meece.

Mimi, thinking of you with your surgery happening and praying for a quick recovery. I liked Meece's suggestion. Would that be good to try, I hope?

    Welcome, Sue.

Val, I am overjoyed with the fabulous news. How wonderful and thank God.

I have not been on in to long. With chemo and the bustle of the holidays it has been busy (as it has for all), but I have to say a day after chemo I am exhausted like I have never felt before. I have not lost my hair yet. Just waiting. I have wigs, scarves, hats-some borrowed, some new. I am ready. All in all it is going good. One step at a time. :)

Jo, the bed runner you made is exquisite. What talent. Hang in there with the SEs and making the right choice for your body. I will be getting to the point you are at now (as far as decisions for medicine that address the estrogen) in the near future. Talk to you soon.

onestep - Hang in there sweetie - Wishing you rest so you can enjoy the holidays.  I did not go have chemo, so I can't imagine what you are going through.  But rest assured, I will be here for you.

jo I love the bedrunner.  How did you post that pic.  I tried on another thread to post a pic of mine and had to do it through FB.  Figured there was an easier way.

Sherryc -  I saved it on Photobucket and then copied the URL image and then posted it here.  Sheila helped me do it.

Well, I am officially going off the Femara.  I tried it for 6 days at night and then in the morning with breakfast.  I am dizzy and nauseous.  Put a call into my onc - he is gone for the next 2 weeks.  That is fine.  I would not take anything else until after the holidays anyway.  The AI's are not for me.  Never had this happen before.  Guess I look forward to Tamox.

I absolutely love mixed bouquets.  I'd choose them over roses any day.
