Thinking of you Gcarter. Hope all goes well today.

Sheila, I love the picture of you!

gcarter - Thinking of you today and hoping the girls don't cause any trouble.
gwerfil - I hope you are recovering from your fall. That sounds very painful!
Carrie Underwood is gorgeous and has such a beautiful voice. She just reminds me of the classy country music ladies that were around years ago. I wasn't able to catch her special, but I'm sure it was wonderful.
Hoping to decorate my tree tonight, but don't think it will measure up to yours, Meece!

Thanks, Valjean. I'm so glad your friend is doing better. What a terrible experience for her! I feel sorry for her and as a horse lover, I feel sad for the horse, too. I witnessed a similar accident in PA and the woman on the passenger side was injured, but conscious, and the young horse was killed. I think he had gotten loose from a handler and he took off right down the drive from the barn and into the road. The car was totaled. Thank goodness your friend will be okay.
I'm hanging in here in a comfortable spot. Even though I'm anxious to get home and start in on Christmas, I'm not looking forward to the long plane trip back to the US this weekend. I will be very sore and my poor husband will have to carry everything. He has been a good sport through it all (it's his vacation, too!) and I can always count on him to make me laugh--like when he will be carrying my purse through the airport!
Meece--love your magnificent tree! I have an artificial one too, because my daughter has asthma. I load it up with so many decorations and lights that it's impossible to tell it's not real. Looks like you take a similar approach.
Deborye--that gorgeous shot of the blazing fire in the stone hearth would make a great screensaver this time of year!
Nicole--lugging a toddler around is backbreaking, especially the lifting part. The good part is that it is so delicious to hold them close enough to smooch them. I hope you will feel better and get the treatment and reassurance you need. Wishing you the best. Chin up!
gcarter--wishing you the best, two!

((((((((((HUGS)))))))))
gcarter, I am sending you positive vibes, and know that the new girls will be awesome.
Penny, it sounds like you have been able to stay positive through a harrowing experience. I am thankful that you are able to have fun in spite of the trauma. Good luck with the plane ride home!
Meece, the tree is so pretty all lit up. I love Christmas. We don't put up our tree until a little closer to Christmas, and then leave it up through Epiphany. I have the Advent wreath out and some other seasonal decorations, but I am getting excited for the tree.
Shelia, I love that you are there for us posting and telling us good night! I love all of your pictures and posts, and you are never annoying. Thank you.
Nicole, I hope all goes well for you today. I love Merlot, so I will drink a virtual one with you all. I work with young children, so I totally get the lifting and carrying little ones, but as Penny pointed out they are so snuggly.
Deborye, I love the fire place, would love to have a party with the roaring fire, wine, and all of you ladies. Did you actually get to go skiing? Being in Colorado skiing is a part of the culture here, but I haven't been in a number of years.
Okay, I need to get to work, talk to you later.

Hello ladies, and thank you so much for your very warm welcome. I like it here - I think I might stay a while Thanks to those who chimed in on the stage 1/bilat combo burrito - it's nice to know I'm not alone on my path.
Gcarter - praying all goes well with your surgery & that you're up & around in no time.
Best wishes to everyone else - it will take me a while to remember all of your names, but I'll do my best! Have a great day, E

Thanks to all my ladies! Went to the dr and found out a few things... remember I shared I have lymphedema... the backache is just that, fluid back there collecting! So, the good news, it is not a bone thing, it feels like a deep tissue issue... so, they are recommending I see a plastic surgeon to go over options... the bottom line issue with the fluid collection I am having, my scar tissue is too thick! So, they are thinking I may need a minor surgery to help get rid of the scar tissue. This was a procedure I was hoping to avoid but my dr reminded me today this is not CANCER and I am a HEALTHY woman... this issue is just a side effect from all my treatments, not a common one, but there we have it!
So, gcarter, still praying for your friend!
DivaDenver, thanks for all the positive emails
Makraz and Sheila sending some California sunshine your way! It is Beautiful today!

Great News Nicole!! Thanks for the sunshine, now, how about some heat!! More snow tonight!

Yippee for Nicole!!!!
Hi everyone!
This week I am helping out at my kids' school Christmas Shoppe. It is so fun watching the kids buy stuff for their parents. They are so proud! I am eating like a slob so I feel yucky. I'm already fat enough....why do I eat like CRAP!

Congrat, Nicole. What great news. Not that you might need surgery, but that it is fixable!
Thank you all for you compliments on the tree. When DH and I married we both had ornaments from our prior lives. We put them on the tree the first two years, but the tree gave neither of us commfort or happiness. So, a few years ago we went out and picked a scheme and got it going. Each year we add to it, and now when we go someplace, our souvenier is an ornament...as long as it is within our scheme. I can be anal about things at times.
This is OUR tree. And we love it.

Hi, Ladies
I've been reading everyone's stories and it is so amazing how similar we all feel. It doesn't really matter how different our individual diagnosis and treatment plans are, it is just downright comforting to know there are other ladies out there thinking and worrying about the same things.I struggled with the decision to do lumpectomy or mastectomy.I opted for lumpectomy with sentinal node biopsy. I've had 3 surgeries in 30 days trying to get clean margins. We finally got them, so now I will have 4 cycles of chemo (TC), then 25 radiation treatments. I have been brave about everything else, but I am scared to start chemo. There I said it. I can't say it to my fanily or friends because I need to be positive and strong. I think I can say it here and you girls will understand.I know I blabbed a lot. Sorry.

Nanaiq-
I am so glad you found this forum... and you are not alone when you say you are "scared" to start chemo, I think we were all petrified... and much like you we put a "brave" face forward for our family and friends... I, too had rexision, so I know the anxiety you must of had to get clear margins, good NEWS you have them now!
So, I will not say chemo was a walk in the park, but I will comment that it is "manageable". Just remember to take this time for your health and tell the dr any side effects you have so they can give you the proper meds to counter it!
Keep us posted, ask questions along the way!

Thanks Cake and Meece, I am in my happy place again! Just an FYI to all the ladies, if you have back ache, this is okay, it is if it is an actual ache in the bone... so the dr tested this by massaging his fingers down my spine, clavical, etc... all was norm... the back ache I feel is "deeper" so this is how they differentiate... just thought I would share

I have to hand it to DH. He has ridden this rollercoaster, which is the life of a BC survivor, right alongside of me. Just before we got married my Rad thought there was a serious lesion showing on a brain MRI I had for severe headaches. So I got to go through the worry and wait for followup test. I had one questionable Mammo which was redone, and okay, and another suspicious mammo which required the Stereoactic vacuum assisted core needle biopsy, That, a "female" surgical procedure, a heart procedure, and two breast reconstruction surgeries.
I try to be strong, but like the rest of you, once you have been "there" everything that happens to your body sends red flags to your brain. This is probably our new normal. Panic then reassurance, panic -reassurance.
We get it, Nicole. I am so glad you were able to get back to your happy place.

Thanks Meece
And I meant to say in my previous post, it is a WORRY when it is an ache in the bone... aches in the muscle are okay...
Have a good night everyone, off to give my 2 yr old a much needed bath!

Nicole.....I'm so happy for you. good to be in your happy place.
nanaiq....Glad you joined us. I had 2 surgeries, second one had clear margins. We always blabbing and writing don't be sorry. This place is our comfort zone. Please drop by every 10 minutes if you need to. Once you have the first chemo, the anxiety goes away.
When are you starting your first infusion.? The chemo nurses are very nice. i chose to have mine in our local hospital. My oncologist office was also equipped, but didn't want to seat alone in a private room, its just a personal choice.
Hi Ladies♥

naniq...chemo was something that i did not have to do..but my friend had to. Yesterday was her third.. one more to fo for her. She really is amazing just as you will be. We are survivors and this journey has enlighted me on on the strenght within. Courage, Hope and now wisdom from my new friends at BC. Many good thoughts to you.
Makraz..I made it.
Nicolle112..wow what a vacation. I hope that getting home will be comforting. I am sending ((HUGS))
Now for the update. My new girls arrived. The right one weighed in at 300cc. Then came the left. She weighed in at 550cc. She was a little bigger then her sista. Unexpectedly she was supposed to be 450..but they were wrong. I hope that they are not
I was in alot of pain when I woke up but...drugs really helped. I am trying to stay ahead of game ..hopefully no pain soon. I have to admit that the newones are so soft and my ribcage feels the best it ever has. This is a huge plus. Everyone has told me that the exchange should be the easiest part. So far so good. Ever since this journey the positive things have been amazing. The friends and family I have makes me one of the luckiest people, not to mention my friends on this thread are so inspiring. Being included here was one of best positive things in my journey because I belong. I finally can acknowledge my BC without the guilt of only going through 1/3 of what women have endured or are enduring through the journey. I needed all of you.
If there is one thing that I would like to see on our signature is our real names. Its time I am on a first name basis. I will eventually learn the all but, there has got to be an easier way. Any thoughts or in site?
Thanks for the positive welcome, the silly faces, the beautiful pictures, the support and of course the sense of humor. Sense of humor makes me smile and I know how contagious it is.
On halloween this year I thought that I would cut a whole out of my shirt (where i had the mastectomy). Draw a dark line across my scare, attatch the longest eyelashes and on my stomach, draw a side smile. It was a wink... My husband was not as thrilled but, I made people laugh with the idea. For me laughter is the best medicine. I do try to deliver it because it feels good!
Thanks for letting me ramble on and on. This is one of my new side effects from anethesia. I talk and talk. LOL

Well Gina I'm glad you had your twin girls. If you are not sure of the size of the second one, ask for a DNA. LOL. Are you home or they keeping you overnight? What a relief.
Gina...My real name is Sheila I couldn't use it when i first joined because there were enough of us with that name. Its really an individual decision, most ladies use their first name when they post.
Some sisters might not feel comfortable with full names
Hugs
Sheila

nanaiq - I had TC x 4 plus Herceptin...it is a long day in the chair but I met so many great people during my infusion. Now when I go in every three weeks for Herceptin only it is like a family reunion, catching up with everyone. I was blessed with mild se's on TC: 1st tx I was constipated so I bought all kinds of stuff (smooth move tea, mirlax, pepto) and the next tx I had diarrhea...go figure...I took my anti nausea meds every 6 hours and only had an upset tummy once...the fatigue and body aches were my worse se's, so I took the first five days after treatment off from work and only worked half days until done with chemo. I chose not to do RADS and just started Tamoxifen on Dec 1st. I hope you have mild se's and if you have any questions feel free to PM me.
Gina - I am so happy you are please with your new additions...I am 4 weeks out from my exchange and am so pleased with my results (hope to post pictures on the picture formum if I every figure out how to upload the photos). I hope you have a speedy recovery!
Hugs to ALL!
I only use my first name on BC.org because I do not anyone googling me and finding my posts here. This is the only place I feel like I can be completely honest and would hate to feel like I have to sensor myself...but that is just my opinion and I am a very private person online...in person I am a blabber mouth

Hello all of you very dear ladies,
Gina, you go girl!!!!! Congratulations on the twins!!!!! I am so glad we are on a first name basis, and I love how Italian your name is, cool. I hope you feel better every day.
Nanaiq, sorry you are going through this, but what a great group of ladies to go through it with. I finished 4 rounds of TC on Nov 12. I know what you mean about a brave face, but you can always vent to your sisters here. The anxiety is worse than the actual treatment, just plan to get lots of rest and don't be afraid to take the meds that they give you.
Michelle, I am so proud of your new sprouts! I can hardly wait until I have some to show off. I seem to be shedding a bit this week, I hope to have something to show off by my birthday in March. You give me hope.
Shelia, hope all is happy at your house. Sleep well.
Nicole, I am so glad you have answers. Thank you for sharing all of the information that you do. It is really helpful, we all worry, and wonder and it is great when we can share because it gives a frame of reference. We are all different but and yet we are all so much the same. Not sure if that made since, I just think you are wonderful to share.
Meece, I love that you have new traditions to celebrate with your DH. How cool that you are both into the collection. What is your scheme?
I hope you are all safe and warm. It is bitter cold here, but I took a nice shower and I am in my warm jammies.
Sweet Dreams!

Michelle...Thats how I remember you when I first joined July Chemo group and Paulding mom made me a honorary member. Remember, You had hair but the face I remember if it was like today.
Gina..If I put my Armenian name and my maiden name, you need a good memory for it.
Susan....I was shopping on-line for a digital camera. I think Amazon.com the best prices for the same items +free shipping. Maybe ill go to bed little earlier tonight.
I didnt buy the camera yet.
I really feel tired but happy to see you all. Thank you for making this thread home away from home. You all are some strong and funny sisters.
Good Night sisters
