Annette...Just got home Ill be in your pocket tomorrow with my coffee. HUGS♥

This SNB thing I had it day before my Lumpectomy and didn't feel anything and nobody massaged my breast. It was nuclear. I do not remember any dye going in or peeing blue. Maybe they did all that when I was under Anesthesia

I had the Ty-D-Bowl dye for my SNB, but evidently the surgeon didn't move fast enough to catch the SN so he took 15!  I was under when  it was done, so no pain with the injection, but soooooo sore afterward.  I kept cans of soda chilling in the fridge and placed one in my armpit to reduce swelling.  That way I didn't have ice melting and water seeping out of a bag.  I could doze or sleep without waking up in cold wet clothes.

O2B, so glad you weren't affected.  I have bad lungs and that sort of air quality would definitely keep me indoors.

    Annette, with you today.

I am now part of a sisterhood I wanted n part of. Got the diagnosis yesterday. MRI done today- results pending. I am going on vacation for 2 weeks and stressing that I should be home making all my appointments. I can get to a recommended surgeon at Dana Farber beginning of August- does anyone think this is an okay time to wait

Hi, groovygirls, ENJOY YOUR VACATION!!!   You can verify with a doc, but I don't think waiting 2 or 3 weeks will be a big deal for you with that small of a tumor.  You might want to read your biopsy results or check with doc about the Grade of your tumor.  Grade 3 can grow pretty quick, but if you are a Grade 1 or 2, then there should be very little change by Aug.

    Welcome to unwanted sisterhood groovygirls

I guess it all depends how you feel about going away.

Couple weeks shouldn't make a  difference.

Good Luck to you & enjoy your vacation..

Welcome groovygirls - to a sisterhood no one wants to be a part of.  GO AND ENJOY YOUR VACATION!!!   Like Elimar said you may want to see what grade you are.  Believe me, once you start the appts, it seems like they never end.  You really get sick of seeing all the doctors.  So before that happens go do what you have planned and try not to stress about it.  Come here often and ask all the questions you want, vent, cry or have a laugh or two.  Best of luck to you.

groovygirls welcome to the sisterhood even though none of us want to be here.  But go on vacation and enjoy yourself.  A few weeks won't make any difference and once you get started it is like Jo said you get sick of all the appts.

mimi- that's a major concern- I don't like pain. . . it hurts me.  Also, I'm scared to death that my lymph biopsy will come up positive & I'll have to do chemo- the docs said my MRI didn't show any traces of affected lymph nodes, but then again, they also said in the beginning not to worry & that the suspicious dot on my mammogram was more than likely not cancer-

not sure who to believe anymore

Chadneyann - I know the feeling.  When I went for my annual mammo and got that first call back I was told it was probably nothing more than a cyst.  Little did I know it would be cancer - heck, I never even gave cancer a thought until I was given the news by my surgeon.  So yes, I am not sure who to believe anymore either.

Groovygirls - my surgery happened exactly one month after diagnosis. Had I known then what I know now, I would've definitely taken a quickie vacation pre-surgery!

Chadneyann - I agree I don't like pain either... it tends to hurt all of us.  Much like Jo my SNB injections were extremely painful and yes I got the blue dye though I don't really remember ever really peeing blue coloring.  My surgeon only removed 4 nodes to get the sentinel node and they were all negative.  He really didn't think my lump was positive for cancer when he did my biopsy either and was very surprised when he called me back to tell me it was.  He was oh so apologetic.  He has never been anything more than a straight shooter with me.  I guess that is why I like him so very much, plus he is very nice to look at.  Wink

Jo both of the techs that were with me when my SNB injections were given were women and one was a young resident in training... lets just say she let me hold her hand and I probably did break it.  LOL!

groovygirls - much like sara I wish someone had told me to take a vacation before I had my surgery.  I had a mammo on Oct 2 and by Oct. 29 I had completed my surgery.  Everything went very quickly because I jumped in head first.  Wish I had put a little more thought into it sometimes, asked some more questions, done a little more research.  I didn't though and I am perfectly o.k with my decisions now.  My doctors guided and we did well.  But it would have been so nice to have gone somewhere and relaxed and not have even thought about the big C word for a few days.

groovygirl...sorry you are here but glad you found us...I had over a month from diagnosis to surgery...lot depends on grade and stage...they put mine off so I could go to Orlando on a business trip...glad I did in retrospect...you go have fun and try to clear your brain with this dynamite dropped in your lap...

Thanks for all being there for me...today went well...I only had nips done, he decided to put off fat grafting until one more procedure and everything settles...went effortlessly and now I am hopped up on my half a vicodin I took...how on earth could anyone take a whole one every six hours as prescribed? I would be jumping off tall buildings....no tolerance...they only used twilight on me and I slept through everything ....not much pain- some twinges were he made some adjustments to get rid of some little things...and on my nipple area...but basically ok...just cooling it...husband came with- then got me settled here and took youngest son for coupel of days so i can just rest...things are ok on that score...and ok is good with me right now...

    i love you all:)

Glad all went well, Annette. Sleep well tonight.

Just wanted to let ya'll know I'll be gone this Saturday & will be back on the 18th. I'm going to my DD#1's for a vacation. Going to let the little grandkids run me ragged playing trucks, barbies, games, swinging & whatever they want Grandma to do.

I plan on sticking my lily white toes in the cold, cold water of Lake Superior, too!!! Burrrrr !

And, the most important thing of all, I hope to come home with "myself"~ A rejuvenated me ~ A better me, faster, stronger, able to leap buildings in a single bound.......~ Oh, okay, that's a TV show. Okay, I'll be back. (that's a movie~) Laughing

I'll check in tomorrow before I sign off for a while.

Welcome to any newbies I may have missed. I am glad you have found us.

Thanks for all your help and advice- I am caught totally off guard by all this (as I am sure we all were) My only risk factor is being female.

I am leaving tomorrow for the Cape with my whole family including all my sisters and brother, mom, dad, and all the cousins- I will have appointments lined up before I go.

Looked in here to see what was going on.  OMG, Seyla, I'm having an epileptic seizure from your greeting!  And OMG #2, I am starting to itch just reading about the deer flies and no-see-ums.
