I don't want to be in Annette's ass pocket! That would be scary! (oh wait a minute-that might be a different thread-oh well-posting anyway!)

Annette,
I'll try not to wriggle too much in your pocket. Don't swat at me, sisters, I'm not a bug. I'm a mover - don't like to sit still too long.
♥
Beautiful pictures, Sheila!

Yes, dear, I have a port. It was inserted August11 during my 2 lumpectomy...It did bother me a lot, but now I don't notice it much, because I survive side effects of BMX...MY CHEMO package is Taxotere, Carboplatin and Herceptin every 3 weeks..Heard stories...everything but Herceptin is for 6 weeks..Have no idea about radiation, though...Today they will take drains aou, wish me luck...

olgah34 - Good luck today getting your drains removed - sending gentle hugs.

Tina T, how did your surgery go. Are the implants softer and do they move much yet? My exchange surgery got bumped to Oct 3rd and I can't get there fast enough. Just wondering.

survivor11 - My exchange surgery was 2 weeks ago and it went very well. No drains, so I could shower after 48 hours (yay!). I'm not going to find fault or fall in love until everything settles in, but I think my PS made the absolute right choice of implant. He and his PA listened to all my concerns and requests and they came through for me. Everything just went perfectly so I'm very lucky and grateful.
If you have access to the picture forum I posted some photos right after exchange and again today. I honestly didn't have major complaints about my tissue expanders, but the implants are softening up. The surgery was an absolute breeze compared to the BXM. It's a lot harder to follow the restrictions this time because I'm having no arm issues at all. Hard to remember not to lift over 3 pounds! But as of today I can start doing more. So far, I'm very happy! Thanks for asking. Good luck with your exchange - it will be here before you know it!!!

Tlhanks Tina T. It's funny the closer the surgery gets, the more obsessed I become with it. Wasn't so bad when I had chemo ahead of me, but now I have no distraction, just waiting. Thanks for the info, so happy yours is over.

Hello everyone. I'm another newby and am so happy to have found these forums. I started this wild ride in June, with a lumpectomy and brachytherapy completed by July 25th. Just learned my oncotype score is 26. I'm meeting with the MO Monday. My gut feeling is he will recommend chemo. I don't know, I'm 63 and diabetic, so maybe not. At any rate, it has been so helpful to read about others' experiences with these same nerve wracking decisions. Some days I really feel like I'm on the fast train to CRAZYTOWN!

Welcome auntinance, I'm so sorry you have to join us, but very happy you have found us.
I did not have to do chemo as my Oncotype score was 14. Please keep us posted on your MO appt.
We're here for you. I am able to keep my sanity (most of the time anyway ) because of these wonderful gals here. Ask anything anytime, voice any concern you may have or vent or cry - we have BIG shoulders to share.
Believe me, I have fallen off this fast train to Crazytown many, many times. But, I'm still here!!
((hugs))
Val

Welcome auntinance - So glad you found us but sad you have to be here. I did not have chemo so can't help you there. Please keep us posted on what your MO says.

Welcome auntinance: This is a good place to be if you are in this position... These ladies have been very helpful for me getting me back in thinking mode instead of hysterics and panic many a time... I discussed it, before my oncotype score came back, with my husband... fortunately, we didn't have to make that decision... It is such a personal decision... I would just keep asking questions at your MO appt.... There are alot of ladies here that could help you better than me, being I didn't have chemo... I will pray for you though!!!

Aunti, welcome. The ladies here are really helpful, inspirational and will keep you company when you're down. They tend to jump in your pocket when you go to appointments.. so keep an eye out for them! As for going to the MO my suggestion would be to have someone to go with you and to take notes for you. There is so much to process and remember...
