Meece, I would like some seeds to the money tree too!
Debbie, you can keep the snow, I have more than enough here!!

I am sorry, Makraz, my money tree is a hybrid. I could give you seeds, but they wouldn't necessarily replicate my money tree.

Hi, all! Going to Disney in February sounds great! I'm actually planning for this October so I have time to do all the reservations...has anyone visited Orlando Disney in October? Is it good weather?
Meece and Pat--that is so cool that you are close to Disney. I WISH I was...I'd have so much fun with season passes!
Seyla--LOL! I dont need a nanny, but I can hide you in my suitcase, yes?
Pat--Definitely going to Seaworld this time.I have been debating about doing the Kennedy Space center...my kids will be 14, 12, 9, and 8. Will my 8-9 year old be bored or will it be interesting? If yes, then I'm scheduling! I'm holding off on Universal for a few years until my 8 and 9 year old are older. They are "careful" kids and dont like the roller coasters and stuff (waaa), so I'll wait till I can enjoy it, LOL!
Debbie--WOW! What a great deal on the room!!!!! We use rewards points for hotel and airline, so we're good on that, but would you believe it still costs like $7000 for a family of 6 to go after food, shows, and all that other junk you buy at Disney? I am sure I can cut costs in various places some, but we do not go on vacation very often...once to New Hampshire when I had 2 babies, and once to Disney a few years ago. So I want to do it all when I go, LOL! I figure, why fight it...I'm gonna spend anyway, LOL! PS--That snow picture is BEAUTIFUL!!!! Supposed to snow here in NJ tonight.
Mimi--Congrats on being half way there!!! Ouch on the burn. Never used regenecare. I hope it works!!!
Gals--I just found out that my friend's best high school friend who is stage IV has only about one more day left before she becomes an angel. She has been battling for awhile, but something happened in her bowels, and they cant operate, so they sent her home for her final hours. I dont know exactly what happened in her bowels. She is only about 38 years old, her name is Rita, and lives in Florida. My friend is flying down to be with her. She has a couple of kids and I dont know if they've told them the severity of the situation. Could you guys lift up prayers and thoughts for her and the family. It is not fair to lose someone so young!0 -
So sorry to hear about your friend, Cake. Prayers going up for her and her family. This is just so sad.

I know, it stinks...she is my friend's friend, so I dont know her personally but I have been praying for her since June when I was diagnosed and my friend told me about it. I was hoping she would hang in there longer. So not fair!

Good evening ladies! I hope everyone is having a wonderful day and feeling good!
Well wento the bs today and she was so great! She spent so much time with us today and really wanted to understand my mind and feelings. Not sure what I expected, but I like her even more now. I think I have a direction but I am going to sleep on it and see how it feels tomorrow.
Have a great night and thanks for all your help!

Good evening,
I have not been on the site for a long time. I am also a stage 1......it is nice to see a place for us.
I don't know about you but when some people hear I was a stage 1 bc they don't think I went through the same issues as people with higher stages. I have even gotten...or you were only stage one.....I want to scream at them....what do yo mean ONLY stage one. I had to go through chemo (TAC) and full Rads (I was considered high risk for recurrence so my Oncologist "threw the book at me").....OK I am done ranting.
I like to try to end on a high note.....I am now over 1 year out my last treatment (My last Rad was on 22 Dec 2008) and I just had my appointment my one of my Oncology providers and so far everything has come back clear....now only 4 more years of Arimidex to go.

Cake-
Sorry to read about your friend's friend............totally agree that it is not fair.
October is usually still pretty warm if not hot in Orlando. Between when the children go back to school and Thanksgiving is one of the slower times so that should work very well for you. Sometimes when it is very busy the wait times are such that it takes way too long to do the different things and most likely you won't have to deal too much with that. As for Universal it is actually two parks................... the one with all the thrill rides is called Islands of Adventure............the other is Universal Studios and that does not have the thrill rides. As for the Space Center you may want to go to their web and decide for yourself as you know what your children enjoy.
It will be such fun!

I went to Disneyworld in October, and I remember that it rained like clockwork in the afternoon, but other than a half hour of inconvenience, it was nice.

Debbie, thanks for the SNOW... LOL!!! I loved the picture :=)
Cake... I am so sorry to hear about your friends, friend, that is so sad to lose someone 38 yrs old. She is so young. Christ sakes and they are wanting to change the mammo regs for what?? Who even knows what this crazy presidency is up to now. All I can do is say I will pray for her and her family. I don't even know this young woman and I'm crying inside for her.
Kim glad to have you back on this site. How are you doing on the Arimidex? I will most likely be taking that or Femara starting in Feb. I am very anxious about the side effects even though I know a lot of ladies don't have side effects. Congrats on the great follow ups with your Onc.
Meece I'm loving your spaghetti and money trees, send some of those my way.
Well gotta get back to my BSC game ... ROLL TIDE ROLL!!! Guess you all know where I'm from and who I am rooting for? Alabama Football!

Go, Alabama!
Meece--I was a bit concerned about rain in October cuz I know its the end of hurricane season. I'd prefer to go in May, but October looked good because of the lower attendance and it's between stuff at school...just enough time to get settled but before mid terms and such. I hope it doesnt rain while we're there! I guess people just put on rain coats and stuff, right?
Pat--that's cool that it'll be warm still so we can go swimming. I'm going to try one of the water parks and Disneyquest this time also. I have a book about Universal...I'll have to pull it out again and see...maybe we should go to one of the parks there after all. So much to do...so little time, LOL!

Cake: I'm very sorry to hear about your friend's friend--I'll be praying for her and her family.
My family and I went to Disney in June a few years ago and it rained a few times. They sell ponchos there so everyone there (and it was crowded) just got a poncho and continued on. It really didn't cause a problem. It was even more humid after the rain though. I'm sure you will have great fun!! TCK

Epcot and Universal are 2 different parks right? I was in Epcot where they have the dinosaurs and some scary rides I meant fast.
It was very crowded at Christmas time. I remember waiting on the lines forever.

Thanks to everyone for your warm welcome. It's really appreciated. I really admire everyone's attitude here. Even though I've logically understood that I'm not the only one dealing with all of this nonsense, reading everyone's comments has really helped me out. Thank you all.
I took my first Tamoxifen pill today. Obviously I didn't expect to break out into a hot flash quite yet, but it did take me 2 days to actually start. I'm only 42 and I really needed to wrap my brain around having to likely deal with menopausal symptoms and possibly being pushed into the actual thing already. So many life transitions to have to deal with in such a short period of time. Oh well. I was going to do the whole hot flash thing sooner or later anyway. Why not now?

Cake- I just said a prayer for your friend's friend. It's not fair. May her passing be gentle and may her family eventually find peace.

Sheila,
Yes you are right Universal and Epcot are two different parks..... Epcot is part of Disney. Oh yeah the lines are very long around Christmas. When you go during the less busy times you can see so much more in the same amount of hours. However, the parks do look nice all decorated for the Christmas season.

Debbie68- don't sweat the fills. Seriously. I've had 2 fills and they've been no big deal. My PS did both sides quickly and that was it. I feel more tightness and a bit more internal irritation, but it's not that bad. It will be fine!

Pat...It was practically very low cost vacation, My girl friends son lives in FT Lauderdale, we stayed with him for about 10 days and 2 nights in a hotel in Orlando. night time temp was 45, we put the heat on.
By the way cake doesn't need a nanny lol
If everything goes accordingly I will be going to Honolulu and stay with DD and DB Friend about 3 weeks in May. My daughter was here for 2 weeks she left this afternoon still flying, She arrives at 12:45 AM ET. Then I can go to bed.

First off, Cake ~ I said a prayer for your friend's BFF, may she find peace & comfort in the arms of the Lord, & the same for her family. It just ain't right...
Welcome Kim ~ I just had my first year ck-up with my onc & all tests came back clear, I have 4 more years of Aromasin to go. Still worry, but not so much anxiety as last year.
Meece ~ You are a hoot!! "Have them face the same direction." LOL I'm glad my DH is at work (he plows snow, among other things, for a major school system here in MI) or my laughing would have woke him up for sure!
I also love fresh made pasta. I've done that, takes some time, but it is so worth it!
I'd rather skip the Disney thing, I'm one who'd rather walk in the woods by a river or stop at a waterfall or gorges & just listen to the wind in the trees & the birds & not have anyone around except for DH. Or, along a deserted area of Lake MI where there are no people. That is my idea of fun! Not anti-social, just don't like crowds.
Watching my Red Wings while at the 'puter.

Valerie...I love everything you described and I like beaches at the Caribbeans that they are not fully discover yet. You hardly see people walking on the beach. I'm not anti social either but you wont find me those popular resorts where you go in the water you cant find your space.
Sorry by not addressing you by your name, if I go back I will loose the post but I also had very bad burns from radiation and because it was right under my breast where doesn't see daylight it took long time to heal. I was very uncomfortable, it burned my lumpectomy scar too. Its no fun I was put on some antibiotic to heal don't remember the name.
Thanks hmm for clearing the Disney thing for me.
Edited to add mimi1964s name who I was addressing about radiation burn.
Now I have to go back to Continental site see if the plane landed already or not.
She is safely landed 20 minutes ago. Now I can rest.
Good Night

I started Tamoxifen at 43 and have been doing great on it. I take it before bed and do not have any obvious side effects. I am still having my periods too and they are much better! They start and stop vs spotting for days afterward.
The wierdest thing is my breasts do not tell me when I am going to start! LOL - I had a BMX and always knew when I was going to start for days because of the premenstrual swelling - not with these new things. The first thing that goes through my head is "oh no breakthrough bleeding!" Then I calm down - I am always surprised when I look at the calendar and realize it is right on schedule!

Cake - So sorry to hear about your friend's friend. I hope they all find comfort and peace. It's just so very sad.
Well, ladies, I had the one year anniversary of my diagnosis yesterday and got to celebrate it by having a mammogram and visiting my surgeon. After some additional "looks" with the ultrasound, I was pronounced good to go for six more months. I am so relieved to have the past year behind me.
And the thought of Caribbean beaches makes my want to fly away to somewhere warm...

Valjean and carolinachick: Happy to hear your good results . I'm definitely ready for some sunny WARM weather too--the beach sounds wonderful!!

Carolinachick... Glad to see that your one year tests went well!
Cake - Sorry to hear about your friend's best friend, my thoughts and prayers are with them. It breaks my heart to hear of stories like this.

Carolinachick,
So glad to hear that your tests went well!
I'm with you... I want to go to a nice, warm, sandy beach in the Caribbean!!

When you find the warm place to fly to, let me know! I want to go, too!

Cake - sending up prayers for your acquaintance's peaceful rest, and for family's and friends' peace of mind and strength of spirit. Tears are streaming down about the unfairness of it all.
Cake also - I have two boys who love science and astronomy, and we've taken them to Kennedy SC three or four times. They've done a lot to make it more "tourist friendly" over the past few years, and my boys loved it (note: if you do the bus tour, don't stay at the Gantry too long - get to the Saturn V complex, lots more to see. Also a cafeteria there, but pretty expensive for the food). The Astronaut Hall of Fame is also very cool - big, interactive-type displays toward the end of the "museum" - much cooler than I would have thought. If you're a AAA member, you can purchase discount tickets in advance - saved us $$ at KSC and Disney. And, Cocoa Beach is about a 10-minute drive past KSC - go out on the Pier, it's pretty cool.
(Sorry, can't recall the names) but happy to hear of the tests and those who are all clear - great news!
Sullykm - I've been on Tamox for about 2 months and have only slight side effects (altho my husband might disagree!) Feel a little disjointed, mentally, can't find the right word in conversations, and am a little forgetful (SO not like me, usually), but I'll deal with it - it's still better than cancer. Thought I would go back on my antidepressant, but after reading some here and doing a little research, it seems that some ad's inhibit Tamox's effectiveness, and increase the risk of recurrence from about 7% to about 13% - I'm just not willing to take that chance, so I'll be exercising more & taking fish oil!
Best to you all, and Meece, I'd love some spaghetti tree seeds if you could manage it
xo, E

..well, I would choose Cozumel, because it is one of my favorite places to go, but I'm having trouble remembering which island has the BEST beaches... They were ALL nice!
