I remember the little guy with an Alka-Seltzer tablet on his head. Didn't he have a name?

Wasn't "Try it, you'll like it" a Life cereal--the one with Mickey the little kid? Oh, no that was "Hey! He likes it!"
Has anybody tried the hula hoop thing on the Wii gizmo? That one brings back memories!

Remebr these? We had three in our lower-drawer freezer. I remember the sound as you pulled the lever and how cold the tray was in your hand.

Yes! And the way the cubes would break up if you pulled to fast or too hard! And how hard it was to pull the thing!

I seem to remember that you could stick a hairpin up the Magic cube and it would flash without the camera. Wastefull, but fun.

I had that Instamatic; and before that I had a Kodak Brownie that had a tiny individual flash bulb. My folks had an older Brownie model with the big ol' flash attachment, and the big ol' light-bulb looking flash bulb...the kind that gave you serious retina burns!!!

Wow, I had not thought of Snip, Snap and Snur for years. I used to like the Babar books and the ones with Madelaine, the little girl raised by nuns. Do you know there is a bar in NY, it's in the Carlaisle (sp?) Hotel and they have murals with the little girls and the nuns done by the original artist. I used to knit little sweaters for my trolls....along with snoot boots. Ski pants made my things look big even way back when......

My dad worked at Kodak, so I still have that camera in the picture above, as well as about 10 others (including Kodak's instant camera).
We talked about Noxema, but do you remember Happy Face? It came in a white glass jar with a (what else) happy face, and felt like cold cream. I also used Angel Face powder in a blue compact and sometimes Maybelline cake mascara in a little box and you had to wet the cake and swirl the brush through the wet stuff to apply. And for our hair we used Herbal Essence shampoo and Tame conditioner, maybe a little Dippity Do when we set our hair on rollers, and that pink hair tape to hold our bangs in place at night!

I remember tat mascara! Not for me, but my mom had some. I remember what the camera film smelled like when you opened the package. I remember Tame "Cream Rinse" as well. Good memories, Susu!0

I remember Corn Silk face powder; mainly because of that one ad with young (and really pretty) Cybill Shepherd standing in the middle of green cornstalks.

I was too young to wear face powder at the time, but I wanted to look like that! Skier Suzy Chaffee and her Chapstick; young Brooke Shields in the Calvin Klein jeans. I remember those print ads too.0

I finally splurged to get a pair when I was in my 20's and working. Wouldn't you know, they weren't really the right cut for my body and I was better off with the Levi's or Lee's.

That's what happened to me when I bought a pair of those wooden Dr. Scholl's exercise sandals. Wore them exactly once and they killed my feet. Cost me a small fortune, and I ended up giving them to my sister.

Whatever happened to the thick green prell shampoo that in the commercial they would drop a pearl in it to show how thick and rich it was?

I remember that one! I also remember hearing somewhere that the green dye in shampoos wasn't good for hair. Not sure if that's really true or not, doen't even remember where I heard that.

I actually saw Prell on the shelf in a Walgreens the other day! Wow. Oh how I wanted to be a Breck girl--long, smooth blonde hair. Or one of the Lennons Sisters--remember them?? I just loved Janet and Kathy.

Anyone remember "Long and Silky" shampoo - the ads showed a girl with waist length brunette hair and the jingle went ' Long, shiny-like, hair, angels wear long, swingin' hair, long hair."
I think Jaclyn Smith was the Breck Girl.

O.K., I remember a shampoo from the 70's that I used to get at a discount drug store. It was called Placenta Plus. Really. I hope at least one other person remembers this one, 'cause I know it sounds weird. I think it used placentas from sheep, but who could really know. It did have a very protein-enriching effect on hair and was quite good.

Elimar, that seems to ring a bell. I had some sort of conditioner that I think was like that. It came in a jar, and you scooped it out and put some water in your hand to thin it out before you put it on your hair.

The one I am thinking of came in a bottle. I think it was a conditioner, now that you mention it, or else it was available in both shampoo and conditioner. My memory is not that good on this one. It looked pearly, and it even a little viscous, like egg whites are. My hair did look smooth and shiny from the protein. After a few years, I just never saw it on the shelves anymore.
