Forgot to say, my dog chewed off my troll's hair too. Pretty turquoise hair. On Easter. That reminds me. I had a plush dog with the same kind of combable hair as a trioll with an A.M. radio inside! I still have it. It still works. Good to listen to for tornado coverage, plus hug for security. Haha!
Friendly Giant? Loved that show. I always "sat" in his rocking chair, "for those who like to rodk."

Remember how our mom's 60's hair-dos required lots of rain protection? Mine always had one of those attractive (a-hem!) accordion-folded rain bonnets in her purse. She gave me one in it's own little pouch (see below) which I doubt I even wore once. I think the hippies at Woodstock liberated all future hair from ever having to wear one again. The times, they were a-changin'.

My grandmother kept the empty bottles at her house and we used to play with them there. Here are pics of a few I recall more clearly:

What were the Soakies used for? I don't remember those at all but I do very much remember the rain hats that folded! Also the clear plastic rain boots that fit over your shoes for rain or snow. I still have a pair but don't think I'll be trying them out any time soon, but you never know!

Eli I have my Aunties rain bonner that has a holder that looks just like that. It goes everywhere with me. I dont wear it I just carry it as a reminder of her.

I kind of remember the Snow White one and the Bullmoose one. I had an Elmo one for my kids once. My childhood bubble baths were with Tide. Seriously. It was powdered soap, not detergent. I think my mom caved in to my pleas for Mr. Bubble once or twice. I love the old commercial for that. Check it out:

Wow - I remember those rain bonnets. My dad was a salesman, cars & insurance, and seems I remember some of his companies used these with their names on the cases as advertising. I always thought they were cool in the case but hideous on your head! LOL!
Does anyone remember fuzzy wuzzy soap.
I bet whatever was in that soap that made it grow hair really wasn't good for you. It sure was fun to run in the bathroom in the morning to see how much "hair" my animal had grown over night. The toy surprise inside was alway pretty lame.

I had a fuzzy wuzzy soap, it was in the shape of a bear. I was beginning to think that I imagined the whole thing, because nobody I have asked about it remembers. PlantLover, thanks for the validation, lol. I don't recall a toy surprise inside though

As a kid, i rememebr my grandmother carrying more than one, just in case we girls needed one. So humiliating to have to humor grandma.

Meece, Know how our moms rarely let us spend money on trendy fad junk? Well, I must have really begged, because I DID get these wigs somehow. They were nothing more than ugly molded plastic. My mom refrained from saying, "I told you so." Lesson learned.

Ugh, I remember those wigs! hhmmm....memories....let's see. How about the little wax bottles with colored sugar water in them? I think that's when my drinking first started!! And Chinese jump rope, does that even still exist? You never see kids outside playing that. I liked it so much I used to string it up inside the house between a dining room chair and the leg of the coffee table.
