lala... SO TRUE! Please think of donating to BCO as a New Years' gift to this very worthy website! I just donated...I hit the donate button to the upper right of my screen, scrolled down to the paypal link and it took all of 30 seconds.

Whippetmom is a genius. I spoke with my PS today and mentioned chatting with ladies online about implant recommendations. She gave me the usual warning to watch out for those scary people online. But guess what? Of the 2 suggestions Whippetmom provided, my PS already had planned for one of them. And the winner is (drum roll please) ...Sientra oval base high projection. She felt for what I am trying to achieve that they will work best. I have to say that I am very happy to see a consensus forming and I'm interested in the experience of any other women with the Sientra oval base high projection implants. I still have plenty of time to decide.

Warrior - I believe there is at least one Sientra thread here on BCO. Just type "Sientra" into the search option.

TinaT - Yeah. Thank you!

Count me in for the MI meet up! (After the ice melts a bit!) OR we could all grab our shovels and head over to dig Tessa out after her surgery! ;-)

If you all meet up in MI, let me know. I'm in Illinois.

Aw, thanks, y'all for the kind comments.
Anyone who hasn't been to a get-together, arrange one NOW! There is nothing like walking into a room and seeing a complete stranger and feeling like you've known her your whole life.
True story: ten years ago, I was on another Internet forum for a different serious medical condition. We got to know each other very well from our posts, much like here on BCO. People started meeting up in different parts of the country. One night, I saw there was going to be a gathering in Oregon. (We're in California.) I told DH I wished we could go to that..and he asked why we couldn't.
So I immediately booked two cheap plane tickets and a rental car and a motel room, and one Friday morning we flew into Portland, Oregon, rented a car, drove an hour and a half into the beautiful Willamette Valley (to a little farmhouse), and partied for three days with the most wonderful group of best friends I had never met in person. By Sunday brunch we were all in tears, as no one wanted to leave. Today, I am still very close to all those folks.

WarriorWoman..... Sounds good to me! Well, the part about the implant selection...not the part about being a scary, online breast stalker....

The wealth of honest support, connectedness and knowledge that this group has given has been an amazing gift to me...thank you.
I have a question...or two!
I am BRCA1 positive...found out this July. In August I had a breast MRI and it came back clear. I am 40. Had oophorectomy in July at PENN in Philly. The pathology for my ovaries came back clear. I have two young children and have nursed them both for several years. I am trying to wean to get ready for PBX but it has been emotionally challenging but going pretty well.
My question---
I am going with Dr. Sataloff as my breast surgeon. Had two consults with plastic surgeons...Dr. Serletti and Dr. Bucky. Two doctors felt I was a candidate for either a DIEP or implants but one surgeon felt I would look and feel better with a DIEP based on my physical size and shape. But, he said that he would do either. I had already decided on implants but now am concerned based on his opinion. He felt that I would need 800cc for the implants to look right. He thought this would feel heavy and might not look ideal. (I am 5'4", 175 lbs, very active, weight is evenly distributed, large frame, currently a droopy full c cup)
I am wondering if anyone has 800 cc implants and has thoughts they want to share on how they feel and look physically. Or if you have thoughts about size/DIEP/implants based on my body type I welcome your input.
Thank you so much.

krisnanbrandy123 - I'm 5'8", 175lb with a 33" ribcage. I don't have 800cc implants but I do have 750cc Allergan style 20 high profile implants and am very happy with them. I was a full C/small D cup prior to BMX and am now a full D/small DD depending on the bra. If I remember correctly my implants weigh approximately 3 lbs each and while they did feel kind of 'weighty' for several weeks after the exchange I find that I don't notice that feeling any longer at all. Fully clothed I look very much like I did pre-BMX and my clothes fit pretty much the same, even sheath dresses. I am also very active (not so much over the holidays but will get back into routine next week). The implants do not affect my physical abilities in the least.

I have 800cc Allergan 45, high profile implants and I love them. I am short and stocky and I had rather large droopy boobs before BMX. I now have perky boobs and they look great. Please read Whippetmom's profile at the top of this thread and ask her for avice. She helped me and many others on this sight. She knows her stuff and can definitely help you decide what implant would look good on your frame.

SweetSp, chinemay thanks for this info, i will get the right size in my country. I decided now to wait and heal then i will go to Venezuela that is where i come from and they will give me the size i want. I had enough with this Canadian PS they can take their opinion and give it who someone else.

Glad to help Enerva - sounds like you might have better luck getting what you want in Venezuela - best of luck to you!

Yes, i am tired of all i been through, i keep hoping my skin shrinks and maybe it ll be better but my 600 cc implants are summing in my skin Hopping it all settles but not sure it will. I just have to focus on healing then i will go to Vzla or USA. i am sick of my PS i wish i never met her. ;(

krisnanbrandy: I think 800 ccs in a high profile smooth round silicone implant would be just fine on your frame and I do not think they would feel heavy at all. A DIEP is a good option for more bodacious gals, if a body contouring is desired as well. This is not the reason for a DIEP, but it might have been appealing to moi, had I been a candidate. But certainly, if you cannot endure the rigors of a DIEP, implants, based on your description of your body habitus, would probably be quite satisfactory.

Wheeptmom thank you so much, i am so glad you helped me, even if i could have been better with a larger implant you helped me to get 600cc I cant imagine if i had agreed to the 350cc my PS wanted me to get. lol I still wonder why some PS need us to go way smaller than what we originally had before bc. It makes no sense. Anyway i wish i get better soon so i can get another surgery next year.

LOL second time! Thanks.
Sweet & Tami, Great! We really should !
lala, that's a great idea ! So much better than getting another waffle iron you're probably not going to use...

I chose Bucky as my PS and Sataloff as my breast surgeon.
(Bucky does not do the DIEP any longer)
So, I would need another PS if I chose DIEP procedure.

Krisandbrandy, I had 800cc round saline implants and they were not heavy at all. They weighed nothing compared to what I had before the BMX- the surgeon took off over 10 lbs of FFF breasts. After the surgery I unfortunately got an infection and ended up losing one of the implants after 2 weeks and having an 800 cc TE put in. As I watched it get filled over the next six weeks, it was a unique opportunity to see the real difference between a TE and the saline implant. At the end, the TE was much, much bigger and so hard I could bounce a quarter off it. It stuck out a lot farther than the 800 cc saline implant even though I stopped the fills 60 cc's short at 740 cc's due to pain. (Did not have any pain prior to the last fill and the PS said I was expanded enough anyway since I was getting slightly smaller implants at the exchange.)
Three weeks ago I went in for the exchange. I would have loved to keep the 800 cc saline implant. It looked natural and gave me not one minute of trouble since the day it was put in 3 months before. But I had some indentations on my chest (primarily above the TE side) that could be fixed by changing to a taller implant so the PS changed both sides to Allergan 410's style FF 740 grams "gummy bear" anatomical shaped silicone implants. They are just fine. Even though they are a bit smaller in volume, they have a gentle slope that covers up those divots on top. They otherwise look and feel the same as the saline implant. They are not hard like the TE or any firmer than the saline implant. I looked on the manufacturer's website and converted the centimeters and grams to inches and ounces so I could understand it better. Each implant weighs a little more than 1 lb and projects out 2 1/2 inches at the fullest. They are wide like the saline rounds were and width-wise they fit a D cup, but don't fill out the cup. Implants are missing the "pointy stuff" at the end. They are mounds, not breasts, but look great in clothes. Both kinds of implants are good. I would be happy with either kind.

whippetmom...so grateful for your input. in researching I read so many of your helpful responses and it was a comfort and so helpful. I have looked through the FORCE photo galleries and I understand that this discussion board pictures might not be available to me yet or at all until they find a moderator. But, I have not found pictures of people with my body type and 800 cc implants. And, this size implant on narrow and thin women looked extremely large and uncomfortable. It is so difficult to imagine myself with these breasts! And re: high profile...will these make the breasts look unnaturally round? I kept seeing high profile round 800 cc's that did not have the look I was going for but I am not sure if this is just because I am looking at pictures of people who have completely different bodies than myself.
sandra4611...your experience with the implant sizing was so helpful to me...thank you for sharing this information. Did you or your PS choose gummi bear or saline implants because of the number of cc's you were getting?

My 800 cc saline implants were put in by the plastic surgeon just as soon as the general surgeon finished the BMX. It's a wonderful "one and done" option for women who don't want to go through the miserable TE experience. The surgeon chose the size based on my preference to be no more than a full C or small D. (I'd had huge FF breasts my whole life and wanted to be "normal" for a change.) After infection caused me to lose one implant, muscle, skin and soft tissue, I ended up having a TE on that side to stretch the tissue I had left so I could get another 800 cc saline implant. Because I had indentations (divots) on my chest after the BMX that felt like bruises, the PS changed the implants to a taller anatomical shape to cover those divots and provide a gentle slope. The gummy bears worked like a charm. They are slightly smaller than the saline, but that's what would fit due to too much scar tissue on the TE side. It's fine. They feel the same as the saline rounds, nice and squishy project out about the same, and cover up the divots. Perfect!

whippetmom, sent photos in PM. Found out this week that we're not sure what I'm filled to. Everyone thought I started at 100cc, but surgery paperwork says 50. So now I'm at 450 or 500, feels like there's still room in there, not hard liked I've read about. Will probably do one more at 50 then wait for February surgery. We talk about implants next week, I'm thinking silicone but I'll see if I change my mind. The TEs have a 2-1/2" mid range projection. Remember I want to be smaller than I was so not looking too bad. It would be nice if the side booblets would disappear. They are getting smaller.
Hope everyone if off to the good new year. Very glad 2013 is over. Thanks for helping.

Smaarty: I need to know the style and recommended volume of your TEs. You need implants larger than your TEs.

krisnbrandy: The high profile implants will NOT look unnaturally round....

Natrelle 133mv14 500ml. He has mention gummies and like Velcro so I'm assuming that means textured.
