bak - I hope you had a great birthday! A massage sounds heavenly. Hang in there for surgery...it will be over before you know it. And the relief is enormous once it is!
hoppytrigger - I'm so sorry you have to be here. A new primary is better than a recurrence, and it sounds like a lower stage, so that is good. I hope your BRCA comes back negative, but it sounds like you are moving forward ready for surgery as well.

Getting ready for Thanksgiving here in the states! We are doing my DH's "tradition" this year - a cold cut spread. We won't have many people - just us and my mom - so we set out lunch meat, picnic stuff, etc. and nosh through the day. It is better than cooking .
Have a good day everyone.

Tifj: I am currently without insurance right now, so that rules out any ortho for me.

Everyone, a Very Happy Thanksgiving to you all strong women! I have to attend a wedding on Sat/Sun, not very happy. Wish I could have just relaxed, cleaned the house, me with my thoughts, warm blankets, lots of books and movies, but Alas! it is always this or that, never peace!. But next year, I will change everything........have to spend lots of time with myself.

bak--just wanted to say that i had my bmx on Aug 23. The surgery for me was not as bad as I had thought it would be. Lost much sleep leading into it but once it was over I woke up and was walking to the bathroom that night. Sent me home the next day and recovered quite quickly from most of it. I had to have several nodes removed so still working with issues to get full use of the arms back but otherwise way easier on me than my 2 cesareans yrs ago. Hang tough and will be thinking of you.

Went to my Onc today and she said I am doing really good, I will see her once every 3 months and will do my ct scan every 6 months for 2 years.
So I guess that is a good thing, but I am just so scared. How do we go on with life?
I wish each and every one of you a wonderful Thanksgiving. I know I sure do have alot to be thankful for.

MBJ- Well crap!! I imagine you can find some exercises online that might help. Even if you can only move a bit, exercise should help, but it hurts like hell!!
0 -
Thanks, Tif, and yeah, it hurts like hell all right.

Wow..this lymphedma stuff.....I sympathize with you ladies that have had this...it sounds nasty...I had 5 nodes removed but no signs of this stuff...I'm glad but wonder why it affects some of us and doesn't affect others? What causes it anyway?
Kris..oh yeah..how do we go on with life? Just keep breathing I guess and try to put the bad stuff in the way, way back of your mind....you can do it... it just takes time...get your confidence from your onc..if she says you are doing good..then you are..enjoy that time between scans and onc appts...believe me they come up quickly...
I freak out a couple of days before the onc appt now..it used to be a month b-4...now I'm glad for the appts...hearing that I'm doing ok..gives me the courage to move on..at least for 3 months!

Hi yall.. I am fairly new to this whole posting stuff. I was diagnosed with TN on Sept. 29 of this year and will be getting my port put in tomorrow and will have my first chemo treatment on Nov. 29. Taxol and Cisplatin. I am scared to death. Was given a grim prognosis by a doctor I no longer have simply because I felt she wasn't concerned if I lived or died.I have a 15 yr old. I hate this cancer stuff.

Leanna: Welcome to the group no one wants to belong to. I received my diagnosis two years ago September and my first Dr. also scared me to death. Most TNBC is very treatable with chemo and surgery. Get yourself a great team and you must always advocate for yourself so you get the best possible care. Ask lots of questions and please, don't read scary stuff on other sites-this place is a safe haven for information and support. Hugs!!!

Leanna, Sorry you had to join us.. but you have come to a great place for support. You look so young in your pic..Just having a positive attitude is the first step, fear goes with the territory of course. I totally agree with MBJ, stay away from the scary stuff on the net. When I was first diagnosed, this was the first place I landed on.
Hugs to you, Lory

Happy Thanksgiving to all of us TN sisters! I know I will be enjoying my family and friends more than ever this year. Last year was a scary time . . . the holidays were a blur. What a difference a year makes, I even have hair again! Just want to let all of the newly diagnosed ladies know that it will get better. I am so excited to celebrate all I am thankful for (although I feel like I do this every day now). So happy turkey day everyone!

Although I have only posted 1X. I have been lurking for months and have learned so much from everyone on here. I am very thankful for these boards, this forum, and particularly this post topic. THanks Titan!
I have had 12 taxol, and have 2 ACs left, then on to surgery and radiation. Taxol was a breeze compared to the AC. Last week (treatment on Monday), I felt just miserable and because of the decadron I became a raging b*tch. I was so embarrased and ashamed at my behavior. My DH has thick skin, thankfully.
Happy Thanksgiving to all you wonderful ladies!

Leanna...we are all here to support one another. I echo everyone's thoughts...Pull together a great team, advocate like crazy or get someone close to you to be your advocate, ask questions and don't poke around the internet. Official TNBC sites are OK but other stuff can bring you down for days and often doesn't apply to you.
You have a 15 year old who needs you and you can do whatever you have to to get the right meds and chemo. There are plenty of treatment options and hopefully you have gotten a scan and they have made the best plan for you.
Where are you located?
In spite of it all, try to find a moment each day to be thankful for something. I use a free downloaded meditation by Belleruth Napersack that has been a real help to me through chemo and radiation.
Hugs to you. We are all sisters here and are so fortunate TITAN started this thread.

Interesting idea: a floating bed. Supposedly good for lymphatic drainage.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone...I can tell you that I'm so thankful for the friends I have here...I don't think that I could have survived the past couple of years without all of you...thank you, thank you, thank you.
I have to get up at 7:00 am to put the turkey in the oven...I think I'm ready...I really don't think I could have done this one year ago...it does get better!

The port placement wasn't bad at the hospital. It didn't hurt at all. In recovery, it didn't hurt. About an hour before I got home, the feeling started coming back and now it freaking hurts. Taking a pain pill (other than a Tylenol) and going to lay down.
I thought these ports were plastic. This one they put in today is titanium. My skin looks extremely bruised and pretty swollen. I know that's normal, but man it sure hurts. Hoping it feels better tomorrow.

Love that bed Heidi..going to show it to the DH...he has back problems...wow..it would look so cool in my bedroom...I just don't want the DH to think he is Tarzan or anything though.

Just wanted to say Happy Thanksgiving to all of us American Ladies, a give thanks to all of you on these boards and thread. This is still fairly new to me, still going thru radiation. I'm not really sure how I would have gotten thru any of this without your help and knowledge. Titan, Thank you for starting this thread, it is the one place I can come too and not feel so alone.
