MBJ. I had a frozen shoulder also. Doc gave me an ani-inflmatory - Naproxen 500 mg 2x daily. I started taking the pill on Friday and by Sunday I was almost good as new. Went to PT for 5 sessions and that got me back to 100%. The drug was the miracle worker for me.

Swanny--- Naproxen, as in Aleve?
(I have chronic neck issues that trigger migraines and am about to consider steroid neck injections to lessen the referred pain associated with it. I've been on all kinds of different meds (including twice daily use of Aleve), had PT and massage therapy. There's disc involvement and arthritic issues).

Sorry I've been MIA-in constant pain. Taking huge doses of Tylenol & Ibuprofen-will try the Aleve. The grouchy with a bad attitude movers are here today after a month of sleeping on an air mattress-maybe now my shoulder will get some relief.

I had no idea about truncal lymphedema. When I saw my doc on Monday, he drained 350 cc of fluid from my armpit/side of breast. The swelling is back, left breast is tender and has hard spots. I thought it was from where the sentinel node biopsy was. It all makes sense now. Thanks!
From diagnosis to surgery, everything happened so fast, I feel like I know nothing. My Pet scan scans/MRI was back on Oct 12 and I had surgery on Oct, 18th. I feel like everything was a chinese fire drill and I missed a lot of information.
Cancer sucks.... That is all.............

Scheduled to have a lump removed from armpit area on 11/29 - thinking the worse and hoping for the best!

Swanny and MBJ- The Naproxen did nothing to ease my frozen shoulder pain. All it did was make me sick to my stomach- even when I took it with food. MBJ- I hope you get some relief soon. So nice to be able to sleep in your own bed!!

Gator, it sounds like you're getting up to speed on this FBC quickly. I think we all have an 'internet degree in BC'. It will get better and less confusing; we all had to go through the same learning curve. You're doing fine.

AND IT"S MY BIRTHDAY and I finished radiation on Monday. So now to deal with all the emotional stuff arising out of finishing treatment. This is the gift that keeps on giving.

Hi! I'm new to this site....just wondering if any of you have had issues with you nodes in your armpit swelling again after chemo? I finished chemo 2 weeks ago and had slight swelling then but I also had a bit of a cold and my onc says that was all he thought it was. I don't think it's right...although I am still fighting the cold and the swelling hasn't got much worse. Just can't wait for surgery Dec. 2nd to get this crap out of me!!!! I don't think I will ever stop worrying!

Happy Birthday Painting! Try to celebrate a little ok? and celebrate finishing rads too! I know it is freaky being done with treatment but really...it's a good thing! I don't miss it at all..lol.
Kelley..will be thinking about you on the 29th...understand completely how any lump concerns us.
MommaG...you will feel so much better once you get that crap out of you! I absolutely hated "my" lump..I felt so much better emotionally..and yes physically too...after my surgery...I really felt that my cancer was gone at that point...whether that is true or not remains to be seen but that is how I felt at the time and I still feel that way.

Teka - My surgeon knows about the swollen nodes....it had gone down during my chemo but is swollen again. I go for my pre-op soon so I will definitely be telling them about it then. I will probably call my MO tomorrow to see if he says anything new....we'll see. Thanks for the welcome!
Titan - I'm hoping I feel the same once my surgery is over....I can't wait to get this crap out of my body.

Swanny: Thanks for the suggestion, however, Aleve just keeps me up at night and doesn't really kill the pain. I was prescribed it before when I injured my neck in a car accident and it didn't really help me for this, either. Glad that it worked for you!

Tifj: Thank you! I am having it worked on 2 x a week. What kind of excercises did they have you do and how long before it healed? I literally can't even lift my arm.

Happy Birthday Painting and congrats on finishing your rads. Now if you don't mind I'm going to go off and sulk for awhile, lol. We started treatment at the same time and I haven't even made it to rads yet!!, and having another surgery is only going to delay it until at least January.

Wishing everyone a Happy Holiday. I am cooking this year. Last year this time I was still in Chemo. Feels good to be able to resume most of duties.
So good to read many are approaching that 3 year mark. That is truly a milestone for us.
LJ I have thought about the Cancer Centers of America there is one in Philly. Take care and my thoughts are with you.

MBJ- I did pulleys while sitting in a chair, wall climbs, resistance bands, lots of exercises while lying down and standing. Then she would stretch me for about 10 min., let me rest then 10 more minutes. I started this in March and have recently gone to once every two weeks and I just do the stretching. It is so much better, but not 100%! I sure hope it eases up quickly for you- it is just miserable!

Just found this site. I was first diagnosed with TNS when I was 36. Stage 2 no nodes grade 3. Had a lumpectomy and did 6 rounds of AC with 5FU and 35 rads. It has been 8 years and guess what? I now have TNS on the other side. So far they are staging it as Stage1 until surgery.
This time I will be doing a bi-lateral mastectomy with most likely 4 rounds of chemo. Not sure which kind but they are going to do a gene test on the tumor (that wasnt available before). Also got my BRAC test done today. Not sure about radiation this time until we get pathology. My head is spinning as I cant seem to find anything on new occurances as opposed to re-occurances. According to my surgeon this is a new occurance and is staged seperately from before since it is in the other side. The breast that was impacted 8 years ago is still cancer free but I figured why not remove both to help eliminate the problem.

Hi hoppy..glad you found us..I read your post on the 3 yrs and out thread...from reading on here I think a new dx is better than a reocurrence....but sorry you have to go through this crap again after 8 freaking years...
I understand your wanting to have a bilateral...if this beast every shows up again in either breast they will be gone...hang in here with us..now that you have found us..we will be here for you..ok?

Fighter..I'm cooking too! This is really the first time I have had my family over for Thanksgiving..I honestly don't think I could have handled it during chemo..or even last year...this year I find myself..maybe a little stressed but not so bad..I've got it handled..I think...I just want my house to look good and the food to be exceptional...!

Today I had a massage for my birthday, it was wonderful. Then I went shopping for mastectomy cammies. I am having major anxiety about my surgery next week, I think I am making myself sick!
Hoppytrigger-can't believe how much we are alike! My first diagnoses was when I was 36, stage 2, did lumpectomy chemo rads and now have a new primary in my other breast, 8 years later! I already did chemo and am now waiting for a bmx, Nov. 30. I am brca 1 pos.

bak94 it sure does sound similar except our course of treatment order this time. My surgery is set for 11/29/11 a week from tomorrow. Just did all my pre-op stuff today along with my BRAC test since I now have two occurances of TNS. I'll be curious to see if somehow I have the gene as there is no history that I am aware of. What kind of chemo did they give you the first time vs this time?

MBJ- Have you asked an orthopedist about a cortisone shot to at least ease the pain? I wanted one, but he said no because I am "an infection risk". (my port got infected).
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BAK!!! Sorry you're so nervous, but that is natural. I was brave right up until they started to wheel me to surgery and I started crying. I kept telling myself it is just a boob, not an arm or a leg or something I really need! Best Wishes to you!
