I recall a number of the ladies on this thread mentioning you take a daily baby aspirin. I asked about this a while back and my doctors weren't recommending it to me at the time even though my mom has heart disease and all her doctors have her taking it. Anyway, my mom shared this link with me on Facebook. The medical oncologist in the interview is a family friend (our mothers are best friends) so I thought I'd share it with you as well. I found it very interesting.

Yes Love the newness of fresh cut grass!!! Just do not like the allergy junk that comes with the season.
Best part of my day was spent with my sister her son and her granddaughter and a friend. I have not laughed until I cried for a long time. That is such a great stress reliever:)
Wishing you all a great week! I have to go to dentist in afternoon to get a crown. Not looking forward to that:(. I am petrified of the dentist since childhood:(

sorry about the additional chemo, inmate - hopefully it is brief and does the job!
I went to my GP on Friday and asked about Metformin. I showed him one of the articles, we discussed it, and basically he's ok with prescribing it even when my onc wasn't... Funny how that works. He does want a blood chemistry drawn to make sure my kidneys can handle this. Ugh, it sounds ridiculous, but I almost backed out. I hate tests of all kinds now, I never let anything more than a CBC run... Now I'm worried about what's going to show up in this...
Oh wanted to weigh in on the eyes thing... about a year after chemo suddenly I couldn't read fine print well, especially in the dark. This year I've been trying multifocal contact lenses, and I'm not thrilled. I love being able to read everything without having to take out my lenses. But the lenses themselves are very fraglie and prone to tearning, and my eyes get really dry with them in. I may have to go back to the old lenses and try reasding glasses?

Inmate - Last few weeks, I was so happy to hear that you were only going to face Rads. And now this. This disease sucks! I wish I could take it all away from you, but what can I do, my dear, except to send you tons of love and hugs as you face this monstor one more time, hopefully this time, the right chemo mix will kick it away forever. Hugs!!!

Hello everyone! Sorry to hear that Jenn is not feeling well, my heart goes out to her.
Inmate-so sad to hear that you are off to do more chemo, but hopefullly it will get rid of the fc. Seems good that they can remove the skin mets and internal mammary node. As you know I had some of those that were positive also. They are radiating the crap out of them now, hope it keeps them in check! So they already radiated that area on you? I have been a bit worried aabout mine because I can feel a bit of pain, but the doc said it is most likely from the rads. I am sure my mo will order some scans for me at my appointment next week.
I was thinking of mowing our lawn but it is still a bit too wet. Our yard is a bit of a disaster right now, but I was terribly lazy yhis weekend, lots of naps. So tired from the rads, I guess.
Minxie-I need to remember to ask my mo about the metformin. My last blood test showed my glucose a bit high. I need to lose weight, I have been exercising, but my eating is not always good. I bought some baby aspirin, which I am going to start to take when I am done wit rads. I really need to get my eating under control! It is the missing part for me!

Inmate: Sorry you have to do more chemo. Thinking of you and hoping that lung thing is nothing... PETs are so sensitive.
Sherri: I've seen quite a lot of stuff on aspirin and cancer; nothing definitive on breast, but there is stuff emerging on colorectal... and maybe on cancer recurrence rates. I've been taking a baby aspirin every day - I figure it might help the heart SEs from AC chemo too.
OBXK - Ah yes, Mad Men. That was the best thing that happened to me yesterday - although I thought the first hour was a little dull, it picked up in the second. Love love love Joanie and Roger.

Thinking of all of my TN sisters today. I had my second infusion of Abraxane on Thursday. This one has seemed a little easier than the first, hoiwever, I seem to be having eye issues. After the first one it seemed that I was having problems with small print,even with readers, then it got better in week 3 right before the next chemo, and now it's starting again. Will call the MO tomorrow. I don't want to admit that I am stage 4 either, but when the MO comes right out and states that, well I guess I am.

KS--you have such a beautiful face and the hair looks great.
Went topless all week and loving it! Pet scan tomorrow and will get results on April 17th when I see my ONC again for first post treatment follow up.

The best thing that happened to me today: My stress level went way DOWN after my Dr's appointments. They are still calling it a local recurrence. I have lots of hope for this one to be the one!

Becca- are you on steroids? They sure messed up my eyesight for about 10 days after each TX.

Please say a prayer for my sister in law. She doesn't have cancer, but had to have a hysterectomy a couple of weeks ago, come to find out he dr knicked her colon which she only has a few inches left because of previoius surguries. So now she has alot of infection, had to be put on a bag.
The best thing that happened over the weekend is my sister had her first baby. He was born 5 weeks early but he is healthy and doing great. I drove up to IN to see her and him! He is precious!
