    CS, I have to rest just reading what you did! I need to do all that but can't get my butt moving. I am going to try today. Even if I only clean one part of the fridge. Good luck Wed.

    Heather, good luck at the new job!

    Great day to all

    I cannot get my butt in gear this morning, either. I've been up for a couple of hours and all I've done is read online and throw toys for the cat to fetch! She's a persistent little pest and will meow at me until I throw it, and is so happy when I do. Smile

    Nothing like the Royal Family to stir up a spirited discussion!! Sylvia - nice to see you chime in. I must admit I have neglected your thread. I am glad we have a monarchy in Britain (I am still English CS, still have my passport and ALL my family is in England, so yes, it does matter to me) even if only that it allows the government to govern and not spend so much time "entertaining". They are also great for tourism.

    Yes Luah - the Queen Mum was a great character and always conducted herself with decorum - no messy scandals with her!

    My last Monarchy comment, then I'll shut up. You don't get to pick and choose who should be King. Charles may not be popular, but it is his right to become King. We can't pass him over simply because we don't like the way he looks, or he's getting old. We follow the line of succession and suck it up if we don't like who is on the throne.

    (It feels really odd posting all this. I don't go around blabbing about the Royal Family, and when I lived in England never did anything to see them at events etc., and got tired of the ridiculous TV coverage of what they were up to.)

    So I'm done!! Smile

    Prayers for Jenn3 and her family. It always saddens me to see another TriNeg decline. I sincerely hope we have a life line soon. This is just sad and scary.

     Loving all the jokes and laughter is what we all need now.

    Where is Heidi?? I was like someone is missing. I am sure all is well she is probably busy with life. That does happen.

    Hang in there those in TX. We are here. No matter how busy things get I always come back to check on folks and spread encouragement.

    LuvRving-She is having a blast Paris....

    Titan I walked a little extra this weekend after reading about those marathon type walks you are having.

    Ha ha ha... one last comment (promise) on the Royals.   It is not the power they hold, but the power they stop others holding.  OK officially done !!

    CS - glad to hear your tiredness is diminishing...mine is just really starting to get in gear... along wtih the bone pains..... I hate this week.  But it passes so all we can do is look forward eh?

    I am not even trying for motivation at the moment - there is always manana !

    mccrimmon - really hope you had a great first day at work.

    Enjoy your days.

    OMG - I can't keep up with you people!

    Heather - Hope you love your new job and the people you work with.

    Annie - I had an awful time with the taxanes, both times. I think some people are more sensitive to the neurological effects, and I am one of them. It scares the piss out of me, because my mom, died due to the neuropathy her treatment caused her. She lost the ability to walk and it all went down hill from there. She and I also shared a chemical sensitivity. A new carpet, fabric store, video stores with loads of plastic - slay me. Seems you've been a busy beaver, maybe I'll be inspired to do a little cleaning around here. I was able to get my blood drawn - with only one stick!

    ~~~~~~~~~~
    I am so lazy today, sitting here looking up my family history. I am a desendant of Mary Estey, one of the women hung, in the Salem Witchcraft Trials. Number 2 son and I hope to visit Salem, this summer.
    Tomorrow, I am going down to Cape Hatteras, to put my family beach house on the market. A little sad, but it causes me too much stress. Hurricanes, etc.
    Hope everyone is having the best day possible!
    Hello everyone
    I am finding all the comments about the Royals most interesting. We all have different views and we have to respect one another's views. In many ways I think the rest of the world find all of this quaint. I sincerely think that a monarchy is outdated and I do not think it will last. Preceding generations were kept in their place and were told to look up to their betters so called. The monarchy perpetuates the snobbish class system we have here.
    Diana was an innocent young woman when she married Charles and I have read it was a marriage cooked up by the Queen Mother and Diana's Grandmother, who were good friends. I always feel sad when I see Royal get-togethers, and Diana's sons with Camilla! Diana was a source for good in the world. The Jubilee celebrations have been over the top and never have I heard the word 'amazing' used so many times!!! Diana will never come back to us and I shall never be a monarchist. It is a form of dictatorship.
    Thank you Luah for your support. It means a lot to me because I lived in Canada for seventeen years. I lived in Montreal for three and a half years, Ottawa for nine and three and a half in London, Ontario. I know there is a great deal of support for the monarchy. Some day Canada will want its own president. It makes little sense for us to have a queen and no sense for her to be the queen of other countries! Yours is a great country!!!
    Like the rest of you with your comments, these will be my final comments.
    Wishing all of you ladies, monarchists or republicans, on this thread the very best.
    Sylvia
    Good morning ladies, wanted to share a great laugh, I had with you last night.
    I play poker every Sunday night with a wonderful bunch of men (I'm the only woman in the group). It took time for them to all become comfortable with me. (it took me months to get them to realize I wouldn't swoon if they swore). They now treat me like one of the boys but also like I was their sister.
    This the conversation went last night.
    "Hey Kathy, I keep seeing a truck parked at your house. (cheeky devil thinks I have a boyfriend, )
    "Yup, that's my new roommates truck" ( now they're all interested, how many women drive big trucks.)
    "Oh, when did you get a roommate?" ( I didn't play last week, because I was busy working on the house).
    "HE just moved in this week". (now 10 heads spin with eyebrows raised. They're all befuddled because they know I'm living down my Moms).
    "He's the perfect man. I don't have to cook, clean, do laundry, or sleep with him. He's gonna do the lawn, help with repairs AND he gives me money. Life is good!!!
    Men are great, they're always perfect straight men for a good joke.
    Fighter- I must finally be moving on with my life. While reading your post (Hang in there those in TX...) I asked myself, "what's going on in Texas that I don't know about?", after reading a bit further I realized you meant treatment! Kind of nice to have read something like a "normal" person and not someone having had BC!
    Regarding the Royals, well, I grew up in Fiji Islands which was a British colony until 1970.  I was 13 years old when Fiji got its independence from Britian.  I remember singing "God save the Queen" throughout my elementary school assemblies.  Prince Charles came to grant independence to Fiji in 1970, which was a huge grand celebration.  The 50% population of Fiji are East Indians who were brought by the British to work as indentured laborers late 1800's to 1920.  The queen did not come in 1970 but sent Prince Charles.  He was a young handsome, humble kinda nice guy those days.  I think it was around 1980 when Charles married Diana, and that year my son was born in Fiji.  We did not grow up with TV's so we had to watch the wedding when the movie was out or that the Fiji Government probably provided us the video tapes, can't remember.  Anyway, my sister and I felt very connected with Diana since we were all sort of the same age.  I remember keeping a Diana hairstyle during my teens, some said I looked like her too,  And being in Fiji, we were very exposed to the British culture.  There were lots of British executives holding higher positions throughout the colony, so we felt very connected to Diana in many ways.  In fact my sister always told me that her life went somewhat like Diana's.  They even shared the same birthdate. Those are my sweet memories of the Royals, however, I also have some not-so-good feelings for their role in my life, of the british bringing indentured laborers to Fiji and separating families, giving them a life of hell. The queen has never apologized to the Indian people of Fiji, and I shall always have those bad feelings towards the Royal family. I hope that she does send a formal apology before she passes on some day. It is a very sad history for a period of time for the Fiji Indians, my ancestors about which my grandmother told me a lot of sad stories, and because of that, today, I remain separated from my parents, my siblings and my family.  Indians have tried to mirgrate out of Fiji because of social injustice and all sorts of discrimination. We moved to whereever we could and because of that, our families are separated worldwide.  Even today, we feel we really belong nowhere. They brought Indians to work on the plantations in Fiji, that period was called the "Girmit". The Governor did not want to destroy the Fijian communal way of life, but he did that at the expense of the Indian culture, their religion and spirituality was all broken down. Anyhow, that is history. As a person, I have a great amount of admiration for the Queen, her habits, her strength and her great sense of wisdom. In order to be a Queen, one must have had to accumulate a huge amount of good karma, therefore, my hats off to her soul, she is a great soul, no doubt. And I loved Diana, she was beautiful inside out.  Having known about Charles those days, he matches so much better with Camilla.
    Teka - what would you like us to discuss? It is almost three years from dx for me and I'm 2.5 years out of tx, so from a bc stand point I don't have much to discuss. An oncology appointment and mammo every six months. I guess it's time for me to move on. I thought our threads were to discuss whatever we want. You can always skip stuff. I often skip over jokes, pets, kids, and other stuff without feeling the need to say enough.
    After being away for a few days, I've returned to find a a discussion of the British royal family,  of all things!  You just never know what you'll find on this board!
    I've always been very fond of the royals.  I have a lot of respect for the Queen...what an enormous,  life-long duty she took on when only in her 20s.  I visited the UK once,  20+ years ago, and I actually saw her.  It made for a really memorable vacation moment!
    Luah - I also enjoyed  "The  King's Speech."  "The Queen"  was another good film.  I don't know how accurate it was as a character study, but Helen Mirren was wonderful in the role.
    Hope everyone has a good day!
    There is a short section in this article ( under the heading Triple-Negative Breast Tumors) that discusses research into the Jak2 pathway, that may lead to more targeted treatment for TN.
    Well that will teach me to go and lie down for a couple of hours - come back to such a busy board.  That's why this board is such a great one... keeps on moving !
    And how boring life would be if we all agreed eh?  As long as discussions and differences of opinions are expressed as respectful communication, which I believe they have been on this thread, then I find it healthy.  It is good to hear other peoples opinions, whatever the topic.
    Titan... thank you - I have only be here for a short while... but this thread really has been such a comfort.    Here's to another 15,000 posts.
    OBXK - your family history is incredibly interesting - descendant of a Salem Witch.
    Fighter - here's to manana's with magaritas (one day soon).
    Kathy, thanks for sharing the laugh - priceless.
    Lovelyface... thanks for sharing your experiences, so very interesting.
    Off to lie down again... will check in later am sure - love catching up with you when I've been away for a bit.
    have a good one ladies.
    Thanks to OBXK and Lovelyface for sharing some family background.
    Interesting conversation about the Royals.  I personally have no interest in them but certainly appreciate everyones view.
    A beautiful day here in the midwest.  I went to a 30 minute water Zumba class today.  Very fun.  Leaving to see Navyson and family on Friday.  Its been since mid March since our last visit.  I miss them so much.
    Maybe I DID misunderstand, Titan. Do you want us to discuss TN and only TN, since Teka corrected us and you concurred? Or are we free to discuss whatever falls out of our heads? After all, I'm not even a proper TN, being all 8% ER+ and all.
