Oh Barbara, as if bc wasn't enough.  My best thoughts for you, and for your dad.  Hope you can really relax, cut loose, and enjoy yourself tonight, then get a good night's sleep!

Granny glad to "hear" from you. Lay low for awhile and just read how much we miss you.

BarbaraA, so very sorry to hear about your dad. Prayers going your way.

Seems everyone needs a hug tonight.

Barbara-  My prayers are with you and your dad.  Both of my parents are gone.  It is just unthinkable that a parent will not be here anymore.  I hope he is comfortable and at peace.

grannydukes-  Hooray!  There you are!  Don't over do things!  Drink a lot of fluids to get the anesthesia out.

jag- Dang if you don't sound normal....and you JUST had chemo!  Good for you!

Barbara - I'm so sorry to hear about your dad; I know there's never a good time to lose a parent, but certainly not while coping with breast cancer too. My thoughts and prayers are with you,

Barbara--I was very sorry to hear about your dad.  You have so much on your plate right now.  Hope the Ambien starts working better for you!

Granny--glad to "hear" you on here again.  Prayers going up for quick healing.

Jag and Amyjo--Thinking about you as you start chemo.  Jag which chemo are you getting?

I had Taxol # 3 on Monday (and Herceptin #5).  The body aches started yesterday, as usual.  Tonight they are pretty bad, just waiting a little bit to take another percocet.  I just took one about 1.5 hours ago, but I can take a 2nd one if needed.  A few more days of this, then I will be good  again until next time!  Only one more chemo to go!

One more to go!!!!!! Good for you

Barbara - I am so sorry to hear about your dad, but I'm so glad he's close to you. My dad and I were the closest in my family, but jealous members moved him 40 miles away from me and I couldn't be there in the end for him. It killed me, but I know (now) that it didn't make any difference - that we always were there for each other and always will be. It must be incredibly difficult for you to go through this now with the bc as well - all I can think of to say is focus on him for now, I think you will feel better about that in the long run. And I hope you're asleep by now - melatonin and beer sounds like a good sleep cocktail to me. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your dad. (((Barbara and Dad)))

TMarina - WTG - one more to go!  Your getting there.  Lead us on.

Grannydukes - We need you to get well soon.  We miss your posts.  Sending LOVE and huge hugs.

Hope all my sistas are coping well.

THanks for the hugs sisters. Off to see Dad then the PCP. I'm hoping he has another idea about the diarrhea. Sick of this. Had since pre-breast cancer. Six months is a looong time.

AND 4mg melatonin and 3-4 beers did the trick. Slept for 7 solid hours!

  • TGIF Sistahs!

I've been off for a few days; had my 2nd chemo on Wednesday and went into it very tired from running around a bit too much in the week before. My brain feels fried.  I see lots of activity here; not sure I can catch up on it all.

Barbara - so sorry to hear about your Dad.  Like you need an additional major life stressor right now.  Glad you got those 7 hours of sleep though!!

TMarina - how are you doing on the Taxol?  Are you having any neuropathy?  That was the one SE that made me decline that treatment, so I'm only doing AC x4 every 3 weeks.

Grannydukes - big hugs to you as you recover.  Don't let the pain get ahead of you; take those meds and rest!

Anyone taking Neulasta?  I sure don't like the bone pain, but my blood work was so good just before this 2nd treatment, I didn't want to skip it if the good recovery was due to the Neulasta.

Hope everyone is coping well with treatment.

    Smile

Barbara, Sorry about your dad.  It's so hard to juggle all these things on your plate.  No wonder you're not sleeping well.  LOL, you found your magic sleeping potion!

Jag, look at you!  You're doing great, I'm so happy for you!!

Everyone have a wonderful weekend!  :)

    Sistas,

Back from my first T/C infusion.  All seems to be well for now and for that, I am thankful.

Had a decent meal and am full of energy, but certainly don't want to overdo it.

Not sure what the next few days hold for me, but I hope and pray they are tolerable.

Peace, hugs and prayers for us all,

    Tori

Barbara- so sorry to hear about your Dad. I lost my Dad last summer and I still miss him very much.  We were alway very close even though we lived so far apart.  My prayers are with you as you deal with him and manage BC at the same time.  I am glad you finally got a good night sleep, now just get some more.

Grannydukes and DesignerMom: I am doing the happy dance for both of you.  What great news for you.

I felt pretty good today and managed to make a short shopping trip to the Mall and found a few things on a really good sale at Talbot's and also picked up the book "What to Eat During Cancer Treatment".  It looks like it has some really good recipes and they are coded for the different side effects from the treatments.  My DH is looking at it now to see how many of them he would like. I think he as found a couple that he would at least like to try.  That is a big step for a meat and potatoes man.  After dinner tonight he took me to Belk's to get some pants that do not fall off of me.  I thought I had gone down maybe a size, but I have gone from a 20 to a 14! No wonder they were literally falling off me.  I actually cried this morning when I went to put on my favorite pair of jean and as soon as I let go of the waist they fell to the floor.  We did find another pair just like them in a size that fits so that make me feel a little better.  Next week I go get the tissue expanders filled for the first time.  Hope it is as easy and painless as friends here have told my it was for them.  I may be rambling on a little tonight because I am so frustrated. I have tried to call the onco, and the nurse for the past 2 days and have not been able to catch up with them or have them return my call.  That is not like them as they usually call me right back.  I still do not have an answer on why the change in my treatment plan.  And I am getting more upset the more I think about it.  Tomorrow I am going to a Women's Event on Sex, Cancer and Survivorship  given by the ACS, so maybe that will get my mind off the change in treatment plan at least for a little while.  I did find the Look Good, Feel Better seminar that will be in my area on Oct 6 and have signed up for that one also.

Hope everyone gets a good nights rest.

    Joy and blessings.

Great news grannydukes! Take care with your arm while you're doing the happy dance!

Great news designermom, too! We finished chemo just 2 days apart! My horizontal dance is getting lower and lower - how low can it go?? This one has been a doozy! Can't wait to regroup - again - and not have to go back in for another dose! I don't know when I've been so tired in my life.

Yes, radiation next, and then I think I'll move to a tropical island - yeah, that's the ticket! Cool

Grannydukes - Y E S!!!!!!!! I'm so happy for you hon, its about time something went your way and your so welcome for that group hug.. so let do it again... B I G    G R O U P   ((((HUG)))).. we love you granny!

DesignerMom and Heartnsoul-WTG-  Congrats on the milestone!!! You did it!!!! Awesome!!!! Can't wait till I can join you!

MrsNice - Yes I had the Neulasta shot- and very glad I did.  I believe in it and well it should work it cost over $2800.00 per shot.  I had no problems with it, no bone pain.

TMarina-  I was told by onco that my Taxotere treatment (when FEC is done) can cause this neuropathy which concerns me because I already have it with my diabetes (insulin dependent).  I am worrying about it already.  Its so extensive in my right arm (damaged nerves) that when I lift a drink cup or can or whatever to drink my hand shakes uncontrollably.  In public I steady it with my left hand so not so shake so bad or with hot coffee so not to burn or spill.  I hate to think this can get worse.  Its also a big thing with my feet which is very common in diabetics, feet are always cold.  Not looking forward to that part but may not even happen with me, so I'll try not to stress it till it comes.  Good Luck with yours.

So so happy for Granny and Designer mom!  Nice to hear such great news!!!!!!!!!

I thought I was doing so well.  Thursday afternoon started to feel weak. Friday morning could barely get out of bed.  Everything hurts, from my scalp to the bones in my feet.  I have zero energy.  I want to just stay in bed and sleep.  I can't sleep.  I wake up at night in sweat and don't get much rest.  I hate to be dumping.  Not sure what to do right now......

amyjo-  I'm so sorry you couldn't connect with your Onc and get an explanation before the weekend, That must be MORE than frustrating! I sure would want to have a heart-to-heart conversation about communication about your treatment for the future.  Hoping for good news when you do connect.   I bet you DO need new jeans if you dropped 3 dress sizes!  Wow!  You don't want to go around in droopy drawers!
