I'd love to join you! I'm about 20 pounds away from where I am most comfortable. Some accountability may help me actually work towards getting there. :) If it's okay, I'll post the difference between my weight tomorrow and my weight on Wednesday.

    Here I go!

I'm down 3 pounds. Gotta love water weight. ;) Still, I'll take it.

I started the ketogenesis diet as I've heard it may help with hot flashes in addition to weight loss. If it works, I'll be singing from the mountain tops and posting here.

Okay, so same weight from May 25th which is last time I posted a number, 159.2. Been staying around that for some time but at least it's now staying below 160. 4.2 to goal!

    woohooo, inkster!

Am down 1 kilo from peak of last week. Am leaving on vacation tomorrow so have to lose more. Keeping my mouth shut on the plane. Who wants plane food anyway?

    inkster Member Posts: 27

Down another 2.6 pounds. Woohoo! I should weigh 125-130 and I've been over 150 for a while. Not anymore! 148.4!

The jury is still out on whether the keto diet reduces hot flashes, but it does dump the pounds and I'm not hungry. Pretty cool thus far.

Down .2 to 159. Not much but I'll take it!

I just found this thread! I love this. I'm 11 pounds from "normal" and 15 from my regular clothes, so there's some light at the end of the tunnel. I bought an Aria scale while I've been away from home. I know a lot of people say daily weigh ins are terrible, but for me, not weighing is when I gain weight.

Now more than ever it just seems imperative to get back on top of this.

From my phone, looks like I had a 2 pound loss. I go home on Monday though, that's where it gets tough. Bf watches me like a hawk about eating. My sister doesn't notice if I go four days. There's no processed foods at my sister's house, either. I don't want everyone's (adult kids at home) diets to have to revolve around mine, but I guess if I'm the one buying the groceries and passing out in Krogers, I can do and cook (since I have to do that too!) what I want!

Lol I need to get a new cookbook for my lymphedema. I have a feeling it won't be as popular as roast and spaghetti

I’m going to post my Saturday weigh in here. I’ve been trying to go down from 173lbs, my all time high point a few years ago (pre BC), to my target weight of 134lbs: I wanted to lose 39lbs in all. My weight today is 142.5lbs. I’ve been struggling to lose this last bit of weight for a year now, and find that posting a weekly weigh in really helps me. Any encouragement or tips from anyoneare also really welcome! X

Good for you, ScotBird! Your high weight is about the same a mine, but I have not been successful in losing weight this year. Would you share your tips for success? I could use some encouragement.

Happy to see this thread come alive again. A few years ago I was 172, and made a concerted effort and got down to around 160, I have kept off that 10 pounds but I have fluctuated a few pounds in either direction, but never back to my all time high. DH and I joined Weight watchers recently, he is a lifetime member who slipped a bit, me as a newbie. It worked so well for him, and he says doing it together is much easier this time. I started at 162.4, and last Wednesday I was 158.8 (beginners passion!). I set a goal of 140, which would just squeak me into healthy BMI range, but also a challenge since it is a weight I have not seen in probably 20 years.

Where in Scotland are you ScotBird - we visited last summer, what a beautiful and friendly country!

Good to "see" you again, pat01. Congratulations on keeping off that 10 lbs. I am still up in the 170's and need some inspiration. You must have gotten married during the last couple of years? I don't remember your having a dh.

Ok. Let's get this forum going again. I will start weighing in on Wednesday.

This morning I am feeling heavy, like a whale, after overeating last night. We had takeout pizzas. Not just one pizza but a brownie pizza, too. I know some things I need to do to kick start myself to dropping some lbs. The challenge is doing them. Wish me "carry through" discipline.

I need this group, now that my MO visits are winding down a bit and I’m not having to hop on the scales every few weeks. Just another little bit of motivation. Herceptin is in my rear view mirror and I’m getting my port removed in about thirty minutes. I’ve been on anastrozole for five months and am about to start Nerlynx for one year. And trying to get my running mojo back with more miles, more days per week. Forget speed. It’s a sad version of what I was doing before BC DX but at least it’s something.

Ok, I need this thread too. It's like Weight Watchers without having to pay. Lol.

I weighed in at 155 this morning at the doctor's office, which puts me exactly on the line of healthy VMI vs. overweight BMI. I would like to lose 10 pounds (even 15 would be amazing!) just to not be so close to the edge. My weight fluctuates by at least 3 pounds all the time so I want to have cushion. I haven't weight that little in maybe close to 20 years though, so it will be tough.

I was doing so good when I was on chemo and had no appetite. Haha. Now it's a little harder. Hubby is not as into eating healthy as I am, so it's even harder.

    We can do it!

Carole, I've had a DH for almost 35 years, I guess I just didn't talk about him LOL. Had a major WW fail Saturday, dinner party at some friends, it wasn't too bad until dessert - two different kinds of fruit tart (an aspiring baker wanting to go commercial), and we had to try them both and compare - so the prudent thing to do would have been a mouthful of each, but no, I had two full pieces! And 4 glasses of wine! It was a very fun party. Back on track the next day, but weigh-in tomorrow, hope at least I've maintained and not gained.

Pat, lol about your dh of 35 years! I thought you were divorced. I remember your telling about moving and I think you talked about sons? From your recent post, you sound happily married.

I posted this link on the Let's Post Our Daily Exercise thread; it's a recent bit of advice from good ol Jane Brody in The NY Times.

    https://nyti.ms/2Fj0HOc

I'm trying unsuccessfully to lose ten pounds I gained. I'd take even seven pounds. My gynecologist, who also had BC diagnosis and treatment in the past three years, told me she goes to bed hungry so she doesn't gain weight. C'mon! I can hardly sleep as it is! Now I'm supposed to listen to my stomach rumbling in addition to the drenching sweats and the cramped calf muscles? Boo!

Falconer, I also have to go to bed hungry if I want to maintain or lose weight. Basically, I’ve had to make peace with the feeling of hunger. I had forgotten what it felt like to be hungry.

I’ve been doing Intermittent Daily Fasting for about nine months now. That helped me lose the 11 lbs I gained on chemo, but I’m stuck at my pre-BC, stable weight, which is in the normal range for my height and age. I’d really like to lose ten or even five pounds and while that doesn’t sound like much, it’s damned near impossible for me. I run, walk, don’t eat until noon, eat a plant-based diet, drink very little and Still.. It’s so depressing. I’m assuming anastrozole contributes to not being able to lose weight.

Bareclaws, I also quit sugar seven years ago when I was becoming a certified yoga teacher. That's when my weight and physical fitness was at its best. I now have a little added sugar, maybe 10 grams or less a day. The no/ low sugar diet does curb hunger for me, so I'm not eating as much as I used to. Youre right to say that it is easy to forget what hunger feels like when we can snack from sun up to sundown. Do you eat in a short window of time during the day?
  • bareclaws
    bareclaws Member Posts: 246

Yes, I eat within a six to eight hour window. Dinner is social in my household, though not usually a very large meal. I delay eating every day noon to 1:30 and keep the eating window open until dinner at about 7pm. I try to keep sugar to a minimum and am usually satisfied with some dark chocolate.

Was about to ignore the bathroom scale this morning when I remembered Wednesday Weigh In!! Knew the number would be bad since I over-indulged in dark chocolate candy yesterday.

Here goes: 176 on the Evil Scale. My WW goal weight is 160. I subscribe to WW online but haven't been going to meetings.

It's Easter Season which means dark chocolate Gold Brick Eggs and Heavenly Hash Eggs (regional Easter candy) are available Everywhere. Including a dish on my coffee table following dh's trip to the supermarket.

Wednesday Weigh In: 127 lbs. BMI 24. (I've been stuck here for awhile.)

Ok, I'm up to 268.2! Yikes. Up 20 since Thanksgiving, Christmas & my birthday. My goal weight is 180 and I have much work to do.

For fitness, I'm on the Stage 4 fitness thread instead of the daily exercise one but I do use a Fitbit and nearly always exceed 150 minutes/wk.

For diet, I am not on a program of any kind, however, I do eat mostly non processed food in its natural state (I'm a JERFer {Just Eat Real Food}) and usually limit my calories to 1,500-1,700 per day.

My struggles are a stressful job, a DH that enjoys cooking fried chicken and gravy and a long time love of candy. Mmmm.....Skittles
